A Splash of Citrus-y Summer...

Hey everyone!

Sorry I'm WAY late w/ my Twinkling Tuesday post-things have been a little nuts here and I'm actually not feeling well. I spent a few hours in the ER last night only to come home w/ no real diagnosis? I think I have vertigo from an inner ear infection, but, since they can't SEE into your inner ear, I was told to follow up with my doctor today and that if it's viral it could be weeks to clear up. Kinda sucks cuz I can't even drive, nor would I want to endanger my kids doing so, obviously. Well, I'll keep you posted on that but if you have ever had anything like this I'd love to hear your thoughts! I worked in a pediatric office for 5 years and have PLENTY of experience being a mom but I just can't figure this one out!

Even with all I have going on though, I STILL had time to make my TT card! Now THAT's dedication, LOL!!!

Today's featured TT stamper is JANNA and boy does she have some AMAZING fruity fun to show you on the TT blog..check it out!
Anyway, I used the DCWV CITRUS STACK to make my card today, which was pretty fitting with the inspiration photo that Madelynn chose for you today!

This card was also the one I used for yesterday's bi-monthly Challenge at STAMPAVIE! I LOVE this Rachelle Anne Miller stamp-she's all set for the beach! The challenge is a recipe to use the following:

3 flowers
2 buttons
1 ribbon
Embossing (I really snuck by w/ this one LOL! Truth be told, I fORGOT about the embossing, but thankfully the Citrus paper is EMBOSSED!!!

LPS Monday: Some Sweet Stampin'...

Hey everyone!

Hope you had a great weekend! I had a migraine or some weird stress headache-y thing for most of it, but I'm glad to be blogging today and showing you a very sweet Card sketch from The Little Paper Shop!

Julia whipped up this sketch for us and I threw my own little twist on it for today's LPS Monday Challenge....use CUPCAKES! You can find out all the deets on the LPS blog as well as see some other "sweet" samples from the DT.

I used the newly released "Katie Cupcake" for today's challenge and she's atop about all the bling she can handle! I used Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz to paint the "frosting" and then while the paint was still wet, I had smudged a spot so in order to conceal that deal, I threw some MS crystal fine glitter on it and I actually love how it came out! Sometimes we can learn cool stuff from our stamping mistakes, huh? What do you guys think?

I had to make this card even "sweeter" by using my new DCWV SWEET Stack DP. Have you guys seen that paper? It's adorable! My mom and I went shopping at a JoAnn in Nashville and she treated me to a few new paper packs :) So much paper, not enough time, right? I LOVE this new stack though...Sweet indeed!

It's PRETTIE Hot out there...

...so I just HAD to show you this card using "Make a Splash" Sophia today!

Doesn't she look nice and cool? I tell ya, nothing beats the heat like a dip in the pool~or a waterslide of course :) We took a video of the kids on their slip and slide that I was trying to get up here on the blog but either my laptop is on the fritz again or blogger is....so hence, it didn't happen :(
You can only imagine though their happy little faces...just like Miss Sophia here from Paper Pretties!

When a Butterfly Wishes...Dreams come true!... (and there's CANDY at the end of this rainbow!)

I've been keeping a BIG SECRET. (giggle)

I am SO excited, happy, nervous, relieved, even a little scared... ecstatic and most of all, GRATEFUL to be posting this today.

I am BEYOND thrilled to bring you...

...BUTTERFLY WISHES...my VERY own stamp set through The Greeting Farm!
When Marie and I began talking a few months ago about the need for sentiments at The Greeting Farm and my ideas for the set, I never dreamed that this day would actually get here! This set combines everything about me that I want to share with all of you. Not only do I love to stamp, and have a TEENY obsession with butterflies, but I also love to write, so being able to design a set with my own "sentiments" and include them with some super versatile, "everyday" ones is just amazing for me! Not to mention seeing it in print, then rubber, then on a card...it is inexplicable and just so very, very exciting!

Butterfly Wishes will be available through The Greeting Farm beginning on Wednesday, July 1st.

You will be seeing a few more sneaks with this set between now and the 1st here on my blog, and maybe even a few "Butterfly Whisperers" out there as well in blog land, so keep your eyes peeled ;)

Before I get to how you can WIN this set (yay!), I want to take a moment to say just how very grateful I am for this experience.

Marie, you have made a dream come true and are also a dream to work with. I can't imagine a better working relationship between two people and I am TRULY grateful that you see my vision, can deal with my spazzing now and then, LOL, and allow me to express myself through your awesome stamps at TGF. First with Club Anya, now as DT Coordinator for TGF also, and finally, collaborating on this set. You clean up my hand-drawn butterflies like nobody can LOL! Everyday is a fun frenzy at the Farm and I am thankful for your vision, guidance, and friendship.
I also want to thank ALL of you, my blogging buddies for your continued support and I hope I've made you proud! I can't WAIT to see what your creative minds and hearts will do with this set and be sure to email me and let me know because it would mean the WORLD to me to see it in action!

Aloha, my friends...

...and how are you all on this dreary Friday morning here in the midwest???

I am hoping that somewhere today, someone is basking in the sun and fun like little Miss "Aloha Sophia" is here and not dealing with power outages and storms like I know a LOT of us are! What is UP with this weather?!?!

Oh well, when the sun won't come to us, we have to bring it ourselves, right? So that's the name of the game here today to keep everyone happy!

I just adore this new Sophia-she is the Stamp of the Month for July at Paper Pretties!

I had such a great time coloring her up and I just want to squeeze her-right down to her cute barefoot little toes! My little one is currently obsessed with her too. She really loves my Hula Anya stamp (from The Greeting Farm) and when she saw Sophia, she called her "ooola Do-FEE-a". It was SO cute!

Well, I hope you all have a very pleasant weekend and enjoy Father's Day with your loved ones! A salute to all the Dad's out there who aren't afraid to polish their little girls' nails, wear dress-up clothes, and sing Hannah Montana songs as well as getting down and dirty with the boyz in the house! (ha ha...you see where I'm going here ;)

A Thursday Tornado...

...meaning the condition of my house/life! LOL!!!

I have JUST returned from our trip and I have SOOOOOO much to do!

However, I am really missing my bloggin' buddies so I thought I'd share a quick post with you all since I made this card a while ago and haven't been able to post very much since I was away.

Isn't this new "Oh BABY!" set by The Greeting Farm the CUTEST??? This miniature sized baby Anya/Ian set is just adorable...I am LOVING it!

Gee, who do these cuties remind me of? Ha ha, yep, my boys! And the sentiment is perfect of course. They are the cutest for sure and I can't wait to show you guys pictures of all the fun stuff we did! I miss my parents so much already but I'm really hoping to see them soon!

Here is another little photo frame I made using a chipboard coaster to show off this adorable dose of "double trouble" ALL GROWN UP!

These little chipboard coaster frames are SUPER easy to make and make a really sweet gift, too. I brought this one down for my Mom when we went to visit last week and she loves it!

Seriously this new set is one of my faves and it's funny-I almost wasn't anticipating that it would be because we are a bit past the "baby" stage-but I just can't put it down!

Well, I'll be back tomorrow to my reg. posting schedule...it's good to be back! Now, if I can just tackle my reader to come say hi to all of you! LOL! Bear with me...I'll get there! There's too much cuteness to be seen ;)

Mmmm....frosting....

Hey everyone!

I can't believe it's that time again! The Little Paper Shop is coming out with two ADORABLE new sets on Tuesday, the 16th.

I am pleased to be bringing you the first one, "Katie Cupcake". Isn't she sweet? I love the image itself and also the potential for decorating that cupcake (which you guys KNOW I love!) so many different ways!

Sneak Peek-a-Boo...

...ok, I didn't think it was possible....I'm pretty sure I'm done having kids, so I didn't think I'd EVER get this excited over a Baby set ever again...but WAIT until you see how many things I've made with the new 'OH BABY" Anya/Ian set from The Greeting Farm!

This cutie-patootie of a set will be released on the 15th and let me tell you is it CUUUUUTE?!?!!!!! I adore Baby Ian and Anya in their minature size-complete with Teddy Bear, rubber Ducky, and all the cute phrases you can handle-there's even one for twins! It's just plain stinkin' cute!

For today's card (sorry about the small size-I'm out of town and had to e-mail it to myself, LOL) I used the baby Anya and decided to take a bathtub stamp I had from another set just so I could use that cute rubber ducky to his full potential :) I just love him! And will you check out that uber-cute bonnet that Anya is wearing? I'm telling you I just can't get enough of this set!

...ugh. What a disappointment. The weather here is just awful and that HUGE concert I looked so forward to? Yeah, rained out.

A Spoonful of Excitement!...

Hey everyone!

Happy Tuesday!

I have an exciting post today as I have been asked to be today's Guest Designer over at the A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge blog!

When my friend and fellow Stampavie DT member Michelle Oatman asked me if I was interested, of course I said Yes! However, I was especially giddy when she told me what this week's challenge is....I bet you'll NEVER guess:

Yep! This week's challenge is: to use BUTTERFLIES on your card!

Well, gee, I wonder why she thought of ME? LOL!

I decided to use my Flutter Anya stamp and some soft, sweet pastels to create today's card. After coloring her in with my Copics, I chose some of my favorite DP from the Basic Grey Sultry line and even used a mostly white Cardstock base (Gina K) which I actually don't do often. I wanted this card to be super sweet, soft, and sugary-just what came to mind, I guess when asked to be today's Guest Designer!

I want to thank Michelle and the Spoonful girls for this great opportunity today-it was such an honor that you guys thought of me! Have you guys ever checked out the Spoonful of Sugar challenge blog? I get some AMAZING sketch ideas from them, and thoroughly enjoy looking at the sugary-sweet eye "candy" week after week! I hope you'll check them out!

A Summer Splash of Color...and birthday wishes!!!...

Hey everyone!

Happy Monday! Sorry I wasn't around much last week-between having my car in the shop for three days and dealing with a pretty yucky stomach bug that plagued the adults in our house, I was pretty much down for the count!

I'm so glad to be feeling better and gearing up for the last TWO days of school! Yep, tomorrow at 3:15 I will officially have two FIRST GRADERS and a FOURTH GRADER! OMGosh! That is crazy!

The kids and I will be leaving for Nashville at 3:15 tomorrow, too! I can't wait! Country comfort (and a concert!) here we come! I cannot WAIT to see my parents. I am just so excited.

Anyway, today's color challenge at Little Paper Shop is to use Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, and Bashful Blue.
I'd like to dedicate my card today using the LPS Color Challenge to my good friend Janna. Today is her birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even think I could find the words to say how much I've appreciated the friendship we are growing even in the 6 or so months we've been friends. It takes a special person to put up with, let alone SHARE my sarcastic sense of humor, funny inside jokes, and just, I don't know, be totally comfortable with. I dont' know what I'd do without our almost daily phone calls and the rolling laughter that usually follows those calls :) I am laughing NOW just thinking of the last thing we laughed about LOL!! See? It's infectious :) (Now she is going to say, oh, thanks, I'm like a disease, is what you're saying....) :D

It Don't Mean a Thing...if it aint got Butterflies and BLING!...

Hey out there!

How are you guys all doing today?

It's Pretties Wednesday, so you know what that means? Well, each week, one of the Prettie Girls takes their turn issuing a challenge to the rest of the DT, and as it turns out, it's my turn! After a few weeks of mind-twisting, brain-bending challenges (LOL! just kidding, guys!) I decided to go easy on my Prettie peeps but also to issue a challenge reflective of my personality...

....sooooo, I'm sure it comes as an absolute SHOCKA to you all that I have challenged my fellow Prettie Girls to USE A BUTTERFLY somewhere on their cards!

That being said, let's get right down to my creation. I used the sentiment only from the "Flutter By" Sophia, my first and favorite (although Giving Thanks is reeeeally growing on me!) Pretties Stamp.

I wanted the focus to really be about the Butterflies so I used my Nesties Butterflies and also my Martha Stewart punch to create a 3D fluttery scene! Hope you enjoy!

You're Unique...

Hey everyone!

It's time for another Twinkling Tuesday post and I want to dedicate this one to our Twinkle Team. Now, you might not have guessed this about me (LOL now and get it over with ;) that I TEND to be a mushy gushy person a lot of the time...so I will warn you that this is one of those days... (disclaimer. check.)

I guess I just want to express my utmost gratitude to this team of women who come together every week-without "having to", "needing to", or because I am giving them anything...but because they saw the incredible heart and creative soul of an eight year old girl (who is now nine...sniff!) and thought it was so wonderful that they adore her sketches and give her the great joy of seeing them every week. You guys have no idea how much that means to her. And to those who play along with us every week...thank you so much!!!
The main theme of my card today is "Unique". This week's challenge was issued by our featured stamper Rebecca's son Jameson, and you can read more about that on the TT blog. In keeping with what the inspiration means to me, along with the Asian inspired Ketto stamp and using similar colors of Suki's Kimono (see TT blog), I think you can all see where I drew inspiration from to create this card in the photo I included above. Also, the story of Suki's Kimono is about a very unique little girl! Talk about being able to relate! I am beyond blessed to have two of them ;)

However, I also chose the word UNIQUE because of the amazing thing about a group of stampers getting together, week after week such as the Twinkle Team...whether it's a sketch, a picture to draw inspiration, or a color challenge, you are all so UNIQUE in your BEAUTIFUL interpretations that I just, again, want to say THANK YOU! I love seeing what you guys do week after week! You are all lovely and talented girlies and I {HEART} you and appreciate you...and Madelynn does too!

I chose to use the new "Sugar" stamp set, just release last Tuesday, for the main image of this card. Who can resist a pretty in Pink Lollipop? I know I can't!

I am having some computer ISSUES w/ overheating, etc. so I will make this post short and SWEET, but make sure you stop on by the rest of the DT's blogs to see their take on the sketch, too!
