Such a Prettie New Stamp...

Greetings everyone...Happy Friday!

I am so excited to show you the GORGEOUS new stamp of the Month for March over at Paper Pretties! For those of you who attended our release party, you know how gorgeous she is! For those of you seeing her for the first time....well...isn't she prettie???

She is the BRAND NEW Ballerina Sophia, and definitely up there on my list of favorite Sophias! I know, it's SO hard to narrow that down!!! So what is this Stamp of the Month, you ask? Well, you can find out all the deets HERE, but basically, you sign up for a 6 month subscription and receive the stamp during the month BEFORE its release. There is also access to a special subscriber-only gallery, and hey, who DOESN'T want to be the first to own these brand new cutie pies? I know I do!!!

I had a great time making her using Shimmerz in the new Blingz "hottie pink" for her skirt. I used my friend, fellow Prettie girl, and keeper of the peace (LOL!) Jackie Pedro's TECC52JP sketch for this card. I love this sketch and I definitely will be using it again. It has so many Prettie possibilities ;)

Paper Pretties JUST had our big 2nd anniversary celebration over last weekend and we released another BRAND NEW stamp set, Flirty Fortunes. We also released Gliding By Sophia and RE-released the popular S.W.A.K. set in rubber so head on over for the fun!

Want to win a $5 gift certificate to the Prettie's boutique? Be sure to check out the Paper Clip for this week's challenge and you MIGHT just win! Each week, Danielle issues a challenge and the winner receives the $5 g.c. to the store so should definitely play along! Let me know if you do, too, so I can oogle your beautiful works!

Have a great day!
Jessica :)

I've been TAGGED....x3!!!

Alright folks, I've been TAGGED...times three!

Three of my favorite bloggin' buddies ALL tagged me today! How funny is that? My good friends Christie, Bonnie, and Charlene, who all happen to be from CANADA (I guess that's what happens when they're snowed in LOL!) tagged me in this fun little game...it's actually short and sweet so here goes:
1. Go to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Then post it on your blog with an explanation of the story behind the picture.
3. Tag 6 other people to do the same, and make sure you let them know about it.

Ok, so here's my 6th pic from my 6th folder. I have to laugh at the pics of the other girls. At least this one is a chance to brag about my kiddos :) This is a pic from last year when we took a day trip to Springfield, IL. We went to breakfast at a place that DH actually saw on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. I'm gonna say it was a dive, well, and a diner LOL! They are famous for this breakfast called a "shoe", AKA Heart attack on a plate. I'll try to find the episode online. Holy Moly Cholesterol but totally a fun experience. They also had an 18" pancake on the menu, and I think it cost about $20 for a family of 6 to eat.
Anyway, after that, we went to the Illinois State Capitol, the Governor's ( AKA Lego Man hair: don't even get me started) mansion, and then Lincoln's Home and tomb. It was a fun day. This photo is of my beautiful daughter (and the founder of our Twinkling Tuesday Team!) and adorable son who loves to make faces as you can see. This was standing over the Illinois State Senate...kinda cool when you think that Obama was still a Senator at the time. It was a nice day.

Alright, and now for the moment you've ALL been waiting for....my turn to tag y'all... You know, technically I COULD pick 18 of you b/c I was tagged three times...but I'll be gentle hee hee.

TAG, you're it: (I'm SORRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY!)
Now you can all grrrrrrrr at me behind my back...Or to my face...I don't mind ;) hee hee! Hugs girlz :D

CLUB ANYA is almost here!!!

Greetings Fellow Anya and Ian lovers! After much anticipation, I am FINALLY ready to launch Club Anya with The Greeting Farm!

I cannot TELL you how excited I am to get things going, see your samples, have fun challenges, contests, and events, and just BE the place for all things Anya! To kick off the launch (NO Superbowl pun intended :) on Sunday, February 1st, 2009, we have some really fun things planned for you!

It all starts at NOON CST on the Club Anya blog (and also here on my personal blog) with a special "Guess that Anya" blog hop that will ultimately end with our New Release of Rock the Farm and an ALL NEW MYSTERY ANYA!!!! Can you stand it???

As if that isn't exciting enough, we will be giving away some ADORABLE Anya Pocket Mirrors to the first 20 people who complete ALL the "Guess that Anyas" on the Blog Hop correctly, as well as completing our Anya "Scavenger Hunt".
In addition, we will be giving away a few of the BRAND NEW ANYAs as well! How awesome is that? Please email me with any questions as well as any fun samples you'd like to have displayed on the Club Anya Blog throughout the coming months. Marie from The Greeting Farm and I are so excited about the new Club and are always wanting to hear your ideas, so keep 'em coming!

Stay tuned to my blog right here on Saturday for the Official Blog Hop schedule of events...and the VERY FIRST SNEAK PEEK of the BRAND NEW ANYA! So, what are you waiting for? Tell DH to have a great time watching the game and you can come hang with us! It all starts on Sunday at Noon! See you there!

Hugs!
Jessica ;)

Pretties Wednesday: Layer on the Fun!

Hello Prettie Peeps :)

I can't believe it's midweek already. It's been a really busy week here, but my fortune says I can relax a bit today which hopefully, will be a good thing! Well, we all know that for a SAHM of four there is really no such thing LOL, but I don't have any meetings, practices, or that type of thing on the books today so I am hoping to just enjoy our day at home and maybe get some stamping done tonight :)

Well, it's Wednesday, which means it's the weekly Prettie Girls DT challenge. This week, Jana issued us a challenge to create a card, using layers. It was VERY specific though...ack!!! I had a hard time following the "rules" to make sure I didn't screw it up, but I will leave that up to you to figure out LOL. It will be interesting to see what the other Prettie Girls came up with, too for this challenge. Here were the parameters:

Create a card or scrapbook page using the following items:

1 dry embossed piece (embossing folders and texture plates count!) (used my CB swiss dots folder for this)

2 pieces of patterened paper (Used a white Asian themed DP and a Black one)

3 colors of solid cardstock (this includes any neutrals you use) (I used Red, and white...but I used Papertrey White AND Springhill white so TECHNICALLY... :D)

4 embellishments (I used MME Laundry Line Green crocheted ribbon, two buttons, and liquid pearls)

5 layers total.

The dry embossed piece must be one of your patterned papers or your 3 colors.

And, at no point should there by more than 4 layers under a top piece of cardstock.

However, if you have your base card with a second layer on that...you may have multiple small pieces each with 2 layers under them...right? Oh...and you may use as many tools as you like. Guess this isn't so much limited as just very specific!

Are you exhausted? LOL! I actually LOVE layers...in fact, I expect that my friend Janna will want to make a card using these rules because I know she loves them too! This one's for you, Janna! Now how funny is that, because the challenger, JANA, also loves layers...do you see a pattern forming here? Ha ha ha... I have to admit though, I got it a bit wrong and used only TWO pieces of Cardstock. I got too lost in the rules LOL! I do think I got everything else according to plan?!?

I used the Flirty Fortunes set to create my card, which is BRAND new this month...it was just released on Sunday! Get it while its HOT! Speaking of which...makes me want Chinese food :) I used TECC52TV as my sketch and it was perfect for the amount of embellishments I needed !

Well, I hope you guys all have a really awesome day, and be sure to stop by to see what the other Prettie Girls came up with for this fun challenge:

Danielle Lounds
Jackie Pedro
Jackie Rokoski
Jana Weaver
Jessica Rone
Jillian Winters
Jodi Collins
Joni Stringfield
Julie Masse
Charmaine Ikach
Christi Thorsen
Frances Byrne

Before I go, I just have to tell you that this past weekend's release party at Paper Pretties was SO much fun! Not ONLY did we release the Flirty Fortunes set I used, but we also re-released Sealed With a Kiss in PERFECT time for Valentine's day...and the big news??? Have you SEEN the new Stamp of the Month? If you haven't had the chance to check out the GORGEOUS Ballerina Sophia, what are you waiting for??? She is absolutely stunning, and adds to my list of "favorite" Sophias! You can't pick just one!

Be sure to stop by The Paper Clip (the Pretties Blog) later today too to see what Danielle's weekly challenge is. Dont' forget, each week she picks a winner for a $5 gift certificate so it's definitely worth playing along! Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Hugs,
Jessica :)

Twinkling Tuesday: Bring on the Spring!

Hello friends!

Oh, how I wish it was Spring, can I TELL you? I am so sick of this cold...hearing reports that more snow is coming...kids not being able to enjoy being outside. I'm just a little done w/ winter, and so when I was going through some Little Paper Shop stamps and came across my Nature's Garden set, I knew exactly what I wanted to do :) Someone I know is going through a bit of a rough patch right now, too so I thought I'd make her this card in the hopes of cheering her up. I hope it works because I love this person so very much.

Well, today is Twinkling Tuesday, and our sketch this week was a stumper for me! That little DD of mine is quite the artiste! Oh how I could squeeze her as she was working on the next sketch already as she watched me make my card and pretend not to struggle LOL! She is so talented, that girl!

Some spring flowers was just what this card needed to spruce it up and bring the circular effect that I needed to come together. I used the sentiment from the Butterflies and Blossoms set, also by The Little Paper Shop and added a touch of my favorite Kaiser pearls to get the job done.
Our featured stamper this week is Jami. I heart Jami! Can I just tell you? This couldn't have come at a better week, too because I have some VERY exciting news to share with you! Jami is not only a talented stamper, but a very gifted artist and she just so happens to have launched her VERY OWN stamp set for 2RedBananas! CONGRATS Jami!

Have you been to her blog? How about the 2Red Bananas website? I visited recently and can tell you that I will definitely be ordering soon! They have a ton of awesome products...a LOT of my favorites, and are in the process of debuting their new stamps, so stay tuned!
Jami used some of their new sets to make her card this week. I LOVE the rich blues and that big bold flower in the center. So pretty! Jami's style is always super elegant and rich looking to me and she has amazing heart. I am SO happy I've gotten to know her. She is a loyal friend and great source of encouragement to all of us on the team!

Speaking of our Twinklettes...we have grown this week! I'd love for you to join me in welcoming Jacquie Peifer and Kim Ross to the Twinkle Team! I'm also very, VERY excited to report that our numbers of people playing Madelynn's sketch are growing by the week...ALSO very exciting! I love seeing your cards, and DD is absolutely tickled pink to see people playing her challenges and loving her sketch creations. This is such a blessing for both of us, thank you!

Because of this, I am excited to announce that there will be BLOG CANDY next week, Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 here on my blog :) This correlates perfectly with my one year "Blogaversary", so stay tuned for all the fun details!

As always, be sure to use our keywords when you UL to SCS or PCP so that we can all have a look. Be sure to leave a comment here too to let me know, thanks! This week's keyword is MTTSC7.
Thanks and have a Twinkling Tuesday!
Hugs,
Jessica and Madelynn :)

LPS Monday: What's Brewin?

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had an awesome weekend. I did...got lots done! I was a BIT behind on taking all of my decorations down...so I did that, cleaned the entire house, did some storing/organizing, worked on Saturday night, had a FAB Party w/ all my Prettie Peeps last night and I still managed to stamp NINE cards this weekend! Yay! That's pretty good for me these days LOL...so I'm excited about that...you'll be seeing them soon ;)

Today's card for The Little Paper Shop uses the brand new Make Your Own Mug set that we released last week. This set is extra special as it was designed by our very own Elyssa...who just so happens to be a teenager as well! How awesome is THAT?

I particularly enjoyed doing a bit of paper piecing on this card...really made it quite fun! I love the yummy brown and olive tones in the DP, too.

Speaking of which, did you know that The Little Paper Shop is going to be doing more challenges this year? Yep, that's right? Like this color combo? Then head on over to the LPS Blog and play my challenge this week! All you have to do is use Brown, Olive, and Cream in your card and you're good to go (ya need a little cream in your coffee, right? I do!)

Can't wait to see what you all whip up...feel free to leave a comment here or on the LPS blog so that the DT can all oogle your fabulous creations! If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword LPSC01. Can't wait to see what's brewin!

Hugs,
Jessica :)

Pretties Wednesday: Chalking it up to Fate...

Hello Prettie People :)

It's been a crazy start to the week already, hasn't it? Or is it just me? After a five day weekend, it was hard to get up for school yesterday...even though actually a few stayed home because of this darn cold... even still, it was time to get up early again and I swear, some days if it weren't for my coffee...I couldn't function LOL! You all hear me, right?

Speaking of which, I chose to use the super cute Look Who's Perky set from Paper Pretties for today's challenge. A few weeks ago, Charmaine issued a challenge to the Prettie Girls to use pastels/chalks to color our cards instead of those favorite markers we've become accustomed to. Now, I have to admit, my chalks are on their last leg...but I do love my Shimmer Chalks and it was fun to use them again!

I followed the sketch for the latest VLVJan03 Challenge and it really worked out well for this super cute Coffee pot, sugar bowl and mug. I colored them pink and made them my own with my chalks and I really like the BG Infuse paper I used in the background. Thanks Charmaine for a GREAT challenge! Be sure to check out what the other Prettie Girls chalked up for this challenge!

I have a LOT of Prettie News this week...Paper Pretties is turning TWO! We are going to be celebrating in proper Prettie style...so here are some of the details for the upcoming celebration:

January 25th will mark Paper Pretties 2nd year in business and we want to celebrate in true Prettie style with a mystery, lots of prizes, a party, and a ton of inspiration for you! We'll be releasing a BRAND NEW stamp set, revealing the next Stamp of the Month a little bit early and also re-releasing Sealed with a Kiss in RUBBAH!!!

Be sure to join us for all the fun. Our blog hop will begin on my blog on January 22nd and the fun will continue for 3 whole days culminating in our party in the forum on the 25th at 8pm EST.

We'll be announcing our grand prize winner of a 6 month Stamp of the Month subscription and giving away one of our new stamp sets to another lucky winner.

We'll have prizes every 1/2 hour during the party BUT you have to be there to win! Also, everyone who orders on the 25th OR joins the Stamp of the Month club will receive a free roll of American Crafts ribbon!

See ya on the 25th, and I'll be back here long before then with some other Prettie things to ponder... ;)

Hugs,
Jessica :)

My Little, Lotsa-Lovely-Layers Valentine...

Hey everyone!

Happy Twinkie Day! Yep, it's Twinkling Tuesday! We have been keeping busy on the Twinkle Team this week...we had some new players...which was FANTASTIC! We also spent a lot of time hanging out over at our PCP page and had a few more people join in on the fun! Be sure to head over there, too to see what all the chatter is about...and when I say ALL the chatter...I'm not kidding! hee hee...
Madelynn did another outstanding job on this week's sketch. It was a fun one! Lots of layers and made ya think about how you were going to do your focal point image. I love the sketch and will most likely use it again!

I chose the EVAH adorable Lily w/ her Kitty stamp by Rachelle Anne Miller (Stampavie) for my card. I was joking with my cousin saying that this card probably cost me about a buck or more in bling...but it HAD to be there, don't you agree?

I used Shimmerz in Bubblegum to paint her dress, then when it was dry, I went over it with Angel Wings. This gave it a fun shading technique and made the dress look slightly worn and more textured.

Anyway, hope you guys like my card as much as I loved following DD's sketch. Thanks sweetie! You rocked it again!

Our featured stamper this week is Danni! Danni and I met a few months ago and have become friends through our blogs. She is one talented lady who just happens to love Butterflies just as much as I do! So she was close to my heart already even BEFORE I got to know her terrific personality and stamping style. Danni is wonderful at RAK'ing people too...always lets you know how much she cares and is active on the TT in our PCP group which is fun that I get to chat with her so much!

Isn't this card cute? She chose this adorable Sarah Kay image (also Stampavie) and did an amazing job coloring her!

Add to it the fun buttons, and bring, springy DP and I'm ready for a picnic! I so love knowing that Spring is coming! I NEED it to be here soon!!!

Danni also sent us (Madelynn and I) this SUPER cute RAK the other day and so while she was the featured stamper this week, I just had to show her off? Isn't she sweet? Flutter By Sophia is one of my favorite images and Danni is an avid Paper Pretties fan so she knew I would absolutely adore this card! How thoughtful, isn't it? It really put a smile on my face to get this in the mail the other day and Madelynn just loved it, too! Thanks Danni!

Well, that's about all I have for you today, but be sure to check out the other TT's blogs, as you won't want to miss their creative takes on the sketch.

Want to play along with us this week? You SHOULD!!! Show us your style and dazzle us with your OWN twinkling Tuesday creation! Madelynn would love to stop by and see what you come up with! If you upload to SCS or PCP, be sure to use keyword MTTSC6. Good luck and have FUN with this one!
I'll be back tomorrow with something Prettie for you... ;)
Hugs,
Jessica :)

LPS Monday: You're my Cup of Tea...

Hello all,

Happy Monday! Today kicks off the start of a busy week, here on my blog and also just out there in general... as it's MLK Jr. day, there is no school, so in that sense it will be another day off which is nice...5 day weekend when you factor in the two snow days we had because of the weather...eesh! It was MUCH warmer today as we got MORE snow... ha ha about 25! Wooo hoo!

Anyway, I am PRETTY sure you've heard me say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new {Tea Time} set from The Little Paper Shop! (oh, and I'm ALSO quite sure that you know it reminds me of my favorite movie, too :D) This adorable set was JUST released last week so you can get it while it's brand spankin' new! Let me know if you do...I'd LOVE to see what you make with it!

At only $8, it's quite a good deal, too, I must say. I just love it, and know you will too :)

In other news, I'd like to congratulate and welcome Jennifer Greco to the LPS DT! Jen has been a long time fan of The Little Paper Shop and we are thrilled to have her! Check out her blog and please join me in giving her the warm welcome she deserves. I am really pumped for her and I know she is beyond thrilled to have been invited to the team.

Well, I hope you all have a great start to what will be a historic week here as the Inaguration takes place tomorrow. I will be glued to the tube, for sure! A shout out to my friend Mary Lu who is in Washington right now...I so wish I could have gone with you but know that I am there in spirit, lady!!!

Hugs,
Jessica :)

Baby, It's Cold Outside!...

Hey everyone...hope you're having a GREAT weekend!

I think that all this cold weather is messing w/ my immune system LOL...although I've been told there is no correlation ;) I think a bigger correlation is probably having school aged kiddos, ya think? Oh well...we'll have had a 5 day weekend by the time is all said and done, so hopefully I can rest up...

...no time for resting though, I have stamping to do! I did manage to stamp some today, and I was really excited to come across the Whiff Of Joy Challenge for this week! It's a GREEN and PURPLE color challenge! How fun! I've never been able to participate in a WOJ challenge before, but now that I own my very own Lizzie with Muff stamp, I couldn't wait to get started!
A few days ago, I ran across THIS card from my friend and fellow Prettie Girl, Jackie Pedro, a.k.a. "Officer J" :) hee hee. I liked it so much, I decided to try my hand at it in a roundabout way...so thanks for the inspiration, Jackie! She used Mercy Kerin's sketch, MTSC25.
I had so much fun using my Shimmerz for this project as well. I painted Angel Wings on the flowers and used Burgundy, actually, for her muff, scarf, and earmuffs. I know, burgundy didn't SOUND like it'd be a match, but it was actually perfect! I couldn't resist and had to add some Liquid Applique to her furry trim on her coat and boots. Isn't she just the most darling image? I really like her, and am gonna have to save my pennies for more WOJ stamps...they're addicting!

So, are you guys getting a lot of stamping done this weekend? Hope so! What's everyone working on? I have a few fun things to show you this coming week so make sure to come by when you can...love hearing from you! I'll be back soon...for now...stay warm and hugs!

Jessica :)

A Very PRETTIE Friday...

...well, at least it LOOKS like that from inside! The sun is shining, snow is glistening...but it's a balmy -13! The windchill is in the -30s, so school has been cancelled again today. That makes for a FIVE day weekend! Too bad it's too cold to go anywhere!

Are YOU looking forward to Spring? I know I am! That's why I was so excited to pull out my Bunny Hop Sophia from Paper Pretties for this card! Could she be ANY more darling? I adore her. She is the February stamp of the month. What that means is, you have up until January 31st to sign up, and then your stamp will be shipped sometime in Feb, the month before she will be released to the public in March. You'll have PLENTY of time to ink her up for Easter...how fun! You can find all the deets for the SOTM club HERE.
Did you know that Paper Pretties is turning ONE this month? We have some fun whipped up for you in just a few weeks...so stay tuned! Have you been over to the Paper Clip yet, the Pretties blog? We are hosting weekly challenges (and on the Forum as well), lots of fun shopping ideas, and you never know, YOUR card could be the next Prettie Card of the week! Jodi is on the lookout for them all the time!
I can't wait until Spring is here, but for now, Bunny Sophia (along with the Shimmerz I decorated her with...LOVE my shimmerz!) will do just fine to put a smile on my face:) Have a great Friday, everyone!
Hugs,
Jessica :)

Little Paper Shop Release Day is HERE!

Hey everyone!

Well, I hope you've all enjoyed this week's posts...I can't believe it's Thursday already, can you?

I am SO excited because today is the release of the THREE new stamp sets you've seen me preview this week from The Little Paper Shop!

Today also happens to be the 15th of the month...perfect timing as the 15th is also our monthly DT challenge. To ring in the New Year, we had our NEWest DT member, Taylor, issue our first challenge of 2009! She chose to Challenge the DT to create a TENT CARD. These little cards are very popular lately, although I admit I was a bit askeered to make one, since I don't do it that often!

I decided to use my new Labels One Nesties for the card and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Even moreso, Im' just happy that I got to use this adorable new set, {Tea Time} to make another card with. Have I TOLD you guys how much I love it? You can order it... TODAY! As always, you receive FREE shipping on any order of $45 or more.

Well, be sure to pop by the LPS Blog today to find out who won the Make Your Own mug set, another being released today! This post goes live at midnight, so for you nightowls, you have until 7AM CST to enter! Be sure to stop by the rest of the talented LPS Design Team too, to see their challenge cards as well.

Thanks for a great release! Hugs,
Jessica :)

Pretties Wednesday: A CASE of the Morning Madness...

Hey everyone...

Whew! It's my third post today and I am so happy I FINALLY got time to take a photo of this card! We had kind of well...a hectic morning to say the least. Started off with a classic CASE of missing all the 20 pairs of hats/gloves we have in the house, forgotten lunches...you know...that kind of thing. It's naptime now, woohoo! Stamp time for Mommy :)

So, this is a really fun post for me. A few weeks ago, Jules issued a challenge to the Prettie Girls to CASE a card from the Paper Pretties Gallery! Talk about a CHALLENGE! I don't CASE much at all, but can you just IMAGINE how many Prettie cards I'd love to have the time to do that with??? These girls are an AMAZING DT, and choosing one was like choosing a favorite stamp...you just can't do it!

I literally chose about 12 favorites and had DD choose for me. I just couldn't bear to do it, but I can tell you there was at LEAST one card from each Prettie Girl up for the job! Anyway, we ended up choosing this card from the FABULOUS Danielle. I love EVERYTHING she does. She has an amazing style and is consistent in delivering GORGEOUS cards every week on her blog. If you haven't ever visited her blog, well...what are you waiting for? Seriously, she's awesome.

I decided that it was a tad too late in the year to use Trim the Tree Sophia, although I love her so...and since it was a CASE of the winter blues this morning, I chose the Bunny Slippers Sophia, as this, well...unfortunately fit my mood perfectly this morning LOL! I don't do ALL mornings, at least...and this one was definitely one of those days!
Did you guys know that Paper Pretties has a birthday coming up?? That's right! We turn one at the end of this month! Be sure to keep checking the Paper Clip, the new Pretties' Blog, for details on some party happenings coming up VERY soon! We have a ton of fun in store to help celebrate!
Last but definitely not least, dont' forget to check out all the Prettie cards this week from our FABULOUS Powder Room of ladies! There isn't one of them who I wouldn't want to CASE on a regular basis, let me tell ya!
Here are the links to their blogs:

Hope you all have a great afternoon!

Hugs,
Jessica :)

This is NOT for me...

LOL...

Anytime I make a pregnancy reference, people whip their heads around wondering if I have news. NO. Definitely NOT LOL! However, I just found out a friend of mine is preggo w/ her first child and so when it was time to alter an item, I knew exactly what I wanted to do :)

A few weeks ago, my friend and fellow DT member, Kimmie, challenged the Pink Papery Studios Design Team gals to alter an item using PPS stamps. Have I told you guys how awesome she is? We have become friends since I joined the PPS DT, and she is also a member of Madelynn's Twinkle Team, and it's been such a pleasure getting to know her. As busy as we all can be, she always makes time to email me, leave super sweet comments on everyone's blogs, and just has a great personality. So, thanks for not only a great challenge, but for being so awesome, Kimmie!

I just love this little baby in the pot :) It's the from 100% Natural digital stamp set from Pink Papery Studios and is so super cute, isn't it? I made this journal from scratch w/ my Bind it All machine and some chipboard. I covered the chipboard with Paper and ribbon and then added the ribbon to the coils after I bound it all together.

You can't really tell from the picture, but I used Shimmerz paints to color in the pot and flower and IRL it's SO super shimmery and pretty! I really love shimmer paints, dont you guys?
Til then, enjoy and I am LOVING everyone else's creations, so be sure to stop by the rest of the PPS DT's blogs to see what they altered up for ya this week! Links on my sidebar!

Be back soon w/ something Prettie...
Hugs,
Jessica :)

LPS Preview: {Tea Time}...

Hello everyone!
It's another "Triple Whammy Wednesday" here in blogland. I LOVE saying that, LOL.

I am EXTREMELY excited about this preview day for The Little Paper Shop.

As many of you already know, Alice in Wonderland is like, only my favorite movie of ALL time. Loved the book too and anything based on Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass. Still, the curious, yet cautious, "heart on her sleeve" personality and somewhat rebellious character best known from Disney's Classic film reflects a lot of me, actually. Anything that inspires me or reminds me of her is always a winner in my book!

Lately, I've been really lucky to have come across a few sets I really love that remind me of Alice, and this BRAND NEW set, {Tea Time}, is definitely one of my new favorites! Julia has outdone herself with this illustration of a whimsical little girls sharing some tea and crumpets with her little friend! Now, I'm not sayin' her hair needs to be blonde or that the "wabbit" needs to be white, but in MY world, that's ALL it means LOL!

I absolutely ADORE this set, all the attention to detail in its illustration, and how DIVINE it is to color in with my Copics. You NEED this set, trust me :)

Be sure to pop on over to The Little Paper Shop's blog and see what the other talented DT gals came up with for this adorable new set! Don't forget to leave a comment on THIS post, too, to be entered to win the new Make Your Own Mug set! You have until 7am Thursday morning to enter! Good luck and see you back here soon!

Twinkling Tuesday: Anya Steps Out...

Hey everyone!

Happy Twinkling Tuesday! New to that term? Well let me tell you what it's all about! I have a lot to say though, today, so I hope you'll bear with me, but this post just got too fun to leave anything out :)

Every Tuesday, my DD (darling daughter) who is only 8 years old surprises and wows us all with a hand drawn sketch from her endless stack of doodly pads, and a talented team of 13 lovely ladies gets a peek at this sketch a few days early to come up with some stellar samples!

This week, DD even played along! I will get to her card, along with Christi's, our Featured Stamper of the week, in just a second.

I have a cute story first regarding Madelynn and this sketch. There was some debate as to whether or not this sketch was drawn on purpose to angle the sides or not. Now, being that sketches are JUST a jumping-off point and not really a concrete "must do", I wasn't worried about it...I mean, there's no need to justify a pretty card, right?
Admittedly, the sides are a bit more angled than she normally draws them. However, as not to stomp over the creativity of a brilliant eight year old girl, OR elude to the fact that she couldn't draw "straight", I didn't say anything LOL. I enjoyed the whole debate, actually and was curious as to how it would turn out! I just figured, she'd tell me if I was wrong LOL! Well, last night as we both sat crafting, I noticed that we both made "regular" cards, regular meaning no angles LOL. Figuring that she made hers exactly to her "plan", when she was finished, I simply asked her, "now, to me, your sketch looks a little different this week, honey"...and went on to explain why. So, do you know what her answer was? SO cute! She said to me "well, Mom, you know how when you take pictures of your cards, they angle out a little bit?" I said "yes...".... She said "I wanted to draw the sketch exactly like you take your pictures of your cards because they always come out so nice". ISN'T THAT THE CUTEST???

So yes, it was deliberate, but not for the reasons some of us may have thought! Who knew that an 8 year old would know all about art perspective? She really amazes me every day. Love that kid! At any rate, whether you make your card with straight edges, angled ones, or a little bit of both...make sure to PLAY ALONG with us this week! Also, don't forget to stop by the rest of the super talented TT's blogs...we even have some CANDY amongst us! Rebecca has a very creative card and some SUPER yummy BLOG CANDY today! Good luck!

Be sure to upload your creations to SCS or PCP using keyword MTTSC5. Leave a comment here, too so we know you played! Madelynn loves to visit and leave comments!

I chose the new Dress Me Anya from The Greeting Farm for my card. She is so vampy and fabulous in this card...totally reminds me of that one (four) book(s) with that girl and..what's his name? DH? Oh, no. right. Edward. hee hee. I am digging my Tombow glue pen that made it possible to follow the patterned paper exactly and add some Martha Stewart glitter onto her evening gown. Her Cinnamon stickled headband came out equally as FAB and I think that little vintage doo-hicky on her headband is making memories. I just love her. WHAT......a hottie....

I had to take two pics b/c I wanted to get the glitterfied dress to show up a bit better...anyway...onto the next FABULOUS thing!

Here is Madelynn's card. She loves this image from Pink Papery Studios, called Simply Bath. She chose the colors and did the whole thing herself. I LOVE the green eye shadow on the girl! She couldn't have been more THRILLED to get to dive into my supply of stickles and brads. She actually said to me "Mom, can you please let me know when I can go in your EMBELLISHMENT CASE?" DH was sitting at the table on the laptop and looks up at me and goes "Did she just say, EMBELLISHMENT case?" Ahhhhhh, the life and times of a stamper and her family... I just love it!

Our Featured Stamper this week is Christi. Christi and I are on the Paper Pretties DT together and have become great bloggin' buddies. She is super sweet, UBER talented, and just pretty much one of the nicest people I know.

Christi always takes the time to tell people how much she loves their work and is so encouraging and enthusiastic. So thoughtful. She is TOTALLY the person to leave Cupcakes or some happy mail in your mailbox...I know, as I've been the lucky recipient of some amazingly cute cards! So has my son! So, when I saw this mailbox card she created for today's post, it was perfect! Beautiful job Christi, and thanks so much for being such a great friend! You rock, sweetie!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed Twinkling Tuesday and don't forget about that BLOG CANDY! I'll be back tomorrow with a "triple whammy Wednesday:...for those of you who aren't familiar w/ that phrase I coined, it means I'll be back with three posts tomorrow...whew! Can't wait!

Hugs,
Jessica :)

LPS Preview Day: Puppy Love...

Hey all,

You are going to just have to put up with me LOL... as I have a few days this week w/ multiple posts! There is JUST so much going on! I LOVE it!

Well, today we are previewing the 2nd BRAND NEW stamp set from The Little Paper Shop: {Puppy Love}. This little pooch had me at hello, I tell ya. Especially when I figured out that the butterfly and bee both fit perfectly perched upon his wet little nose!!!

{Puppy Love} is being released this Thursday, the 15th, in plenty of time for Valentine's day! You will be able to create SOOOO much cuteness with this little set! My eight year old DD had a cute idea to stamp either envelopes or the valentine's themselves with one of the dogs in this set that holds a little heart (see more samples on the LPS blog). There is plenty of room in that heart to write the name of your special valentine(s). Cute, right???

Be sure to stop by the Little Paper Shop Blog and remember to leave comment on THIS post to be eligible to win the Make Your Own Mug set! See you a little later today with a sketch from DD!
Hugs,
Jessica :)

Got Anya?

Well folks, I have been bursting with some news for a while now...

You may remember back a few months ago, Marie from The Greeting Farm (formerly Pink Poison) talked about starting a new Club for people who are just as obsessed with Anya stamps (and now Ian stamps, too!) as ALOT of us are! In fact, they have become so popular, that she felt these little cuties deserved their own blog..a place where people can come, gather, and celebrate all things Anya and Ian every day!

After weeks of preparation, planning, ooogling over samples and ideas, etc...I am BEAMING with happiness and really excited and proud to announce that I have been chosen as the Vice President of Club Anya, premiering February 1st, 2009! *squeeeeeeaaaallllll*!

Ok, now that we've gotten that out of the way...WHAT is Club Anya, you ask?

*Starting on February 1st, the Club Anya blog will officially "open". We will kick off the club with some fun challenges, samples, and even some goodies are in the works. Also on that day, we will begin featuring a "Guess that Anya" contest, all leading up to the BRAND NEW RELEASE of the Miss Anya stamps and also a new, "mystery" Anya! How fun is that? The OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE for Miss Anya stamps and the new REVEAL will be FEB. 14th, 2009!

What else can I look forward to on Club Anya?

*Well, that answer is simply...TONS! We will be having contests, challenges, samples galore, not only from me, but from lots of you guys when you send them in to me, special "Meet Anya" or "Meet Ian" q&a sessions with a specific Ian or Anya, Super High Glam Fashion Shows, sketch challenges, and special release events for all new stamps that come out.

How do I become a "Member" of Club Anya?

Easy! Just hop on and join us when the blog goes live on Feb. 1st, 2009!

Also, you can become a "VIP Member " with one simple click, to "Follow" the Club Anya blog. Every now and again, prizes and awards will be given out exclusively to Club "Members". Being a member should have its perks, right?

I will also be on the lookout for Featured Anya stampers, so just like on The Greeting Farm's blog, I will definitely be showcasing your fabulous creations! I can't wait to see them!

Well, that's about it for now, other than the fact that I am absolutely *tickled pink* and cannot WAIT to see what you guys have been working on with all things Anya/Ian!

Please don't hesitate to contact Marie or myself with any questions that you have now or in the upcoming weeks as we get ready to launch the blog. The Greeting Farm's blog will still be there for you as well, every day, and in its same capacity.

Can't wait to see you at Club Anya....coming 2/1/09!

Jessica :)

Fun with Friends...and some Awesome RAK's!

Hey everyone,

Happy Saturday! Today is an exciting one indeed. I am off to meet up with two DT friends that I've talked to everyday for months and have never met...until today! I will hopefully post some pics later but for now...gotta get in the car!

Before I do, though, I wanted to share with you some amazing RAK's I've gotten this week. Remember THIS card from Charmaine at Oodabug Alley? When I saw it, I went nuts. That yummy pink paper w/ the beautiful butterfly from Verve stamps? Are you kidding me? I loved it. What a WONDERFUL surprise it was to get it from her in the mail! I was tickled...PINK, of course! Thanks, Charlie! You are an amazing fellow Prettie girl and friend. I'm so glad to be getting to know you! Totally made my day :)

As you know, because I complain about it so much LOL...I have been a bit under the weather. So when my friend Darla came over with this sweet anniversary card, this cute little "love soup" Valentine's project, and some yummy muffins w/ raspberry jam in the centers, I couldn't have felt more taken care of! Thanks Darla!

I love how she did the toile w/ the top note die actually making a window on the card she made. And hey...it's pink too! You guys really know how to make a girl feel loved! So thanks!

Well, I'm off for the day of card making, chit chatting, coffee drinking...and oh...organizing! More on that later too...I got a very cool new stamp storage system that I'll be showing off later...when it's ready.

Dont' forget to come back tomorrow for more fun! Stay warm everyone..we're getting piled w/ another 6-12 today... *sigh*....

Hugs,
Jessica :)

Pretties Friday: Hippety Hop

Hello everyone!

I'm back after a day off ha ha. DH was KIND of a computer hog yesterday LOL...and I've been fighting a cold (it's winning) so I wasn't around much yesterday.

Well, I have some GREAT news. The ONLY person hopping around today is this ADORABLE Bunny Ears Sophia from Paper Pretties. I say only, because we got some VERY Good news from the doctor yesterday...we can put the crutches away! My darling son is on the mend and can start walking again!!! So, needless to say, we are all very excited. It is absolutely heartwarming to watch him start limping around the house getting used to his leg again. What wonderful news and such a relief!

He'll be doing the "bunny hop" in NO time! LOL! Seriously, HOW cute is this Sophia??? I can't even stand it she's so cute! She is the February Stamp of the Month.

What is the Stamp of the Month Club you ask? Basically, the way it works is that by enrolling, your stamp is sent to you the month before it's released to the public. You have until the end of January to sign up for this super cutie pie, so don't wait! You need her as SOON as you can get her, trust me!

I had such a good time making this card. As much as I long to keep playing with my wintery stamps, some of which haven't even been touched yet, there was something SO rewarding about making this card. The best part is that I used the sketch that my daughter drew for this week's Twinkling Tuesday...let me just tell you, there was some SCREAMING!!! I also got to use my new Shimmerz paints for her dress and I just love the shimmer.

Well, be sure to check out the Pretties Gallery for lots more inspiration with this brand new Sophia...just imagine what you have to look forward to when you sign up for the club! She is just TOO cute, isn't she?

Be sure to stop by this weekend...I have lots to post about! I have some AMAZING RAK's, gifts that I want to share, and a special announcement, too!!! Hugs!

Pretties Wednesday: Krafty Color Challenge...

Hey Prettie People :)

How goes it today? I have another card to show you as today is Pretties Wednesday! Each week on Wednesdays, the Prettie Girls take turns issuing a DT challenge to each other. Well, this week, it was MY turn!
I'm so excited to flutter around blogland today to see what my Pretties came up with for today's challenge. I chose a Color Challenge: To use Kraft, Ocean Tides/Baja Breeze, Ripe Avocado/Old Olive, and Dark Chocolate/Choc. Chip. After throwing in some pretty DP from Stampin Up's SkiSlope line, I was happy with the way this came out.

I was also able to use the Viva La Verve sketch which was fun to try out. Great sketch and fun use of hardware and the layout was interesting. I like the way this came out and was glad I got to play! I love sketch challenges...AND color ones too!

For those of you who might not have heard, our SENDING YOU LOVE Sophia is NOW available in the Pretties Boutique! How cute is SHE? It was fun to use non-traditional Valentine's colors, and I will tell you that this stamp is NOT just for Valentine's! This card is actually going to DH, as today is our anniversary. Happy Anniversary, babes...this one is for you! I made a point to mention in the card, too that all of this wouldn't be possible without the daily support, surprise trips to the art supply store, the fact that he is on first name basis w/ the girls at Archiver's and knows what a "Tombow refill" is without having to ask...the fact that he submitted a card he made to the Mr. Stamper contest a few months back to try to win me a free stamp set from The Greeting Farm...and that is all just in the stamping arena. Anyway, I'll save the gushing for later, but wanted to send a shout out :)

Be sure to "hop"...or "flop" back here Friday (hint! hint!) I can't WAIT to show you the February stamp of the month!!! You will NOT want to miss this one!

Til then, won't you please stop by my fellow Prettie Girls' blogs today (links on my sidebar!) and show them some love for playing my Color challenge? Thanks! Can't wait to show you something special over the weekend too...stayyyyyyyy tuned! ;)
Hugs,
Jess :)

PPS Wednesday: Shimmery Snowflakes...

Shimmery Snowflakes!

(If you know my son, this is pirate talk, even without meaning it to be LOL! Remember "shimmery timbers?" ha ha ha)

This week's Pink Papery Studios DT Challenge was to make a card using METALLICS.

I used the little cutie pie from Catch a Falling Snowflake and doused her in Shimmerz paint in Coffee. I can be the biggest DP junkie on the planet and would you believe not ONE metallic paper? What's wrong with me?? LOL

Anyway, this DP from My Mind's Eye (my favorite Laundry Line) is almost metallic, very glittery raised laminated snowflakes as well as the K&Co. Snowflake I used. I loosely followed the Mojo Monday sketch this week to make this card.

Be sure to check out the other PPS DT girls shimmery samples and beautiful bling! Links on my sidebar. DID YOU KNOW that Pink Papery Studios is turning ONE??? We are gearing up for a bash soon and Amy is adding lots of new goodies to the site. Be sure to drop by today!

Enjoy...we actually are getting some falling snowflakes right now!!!

Hugs,
jessica :)

FABULOUS Twinkling Tuesday: Isn't She Lovely?

Hello All!

Happy Twinkling Tuesday to you! I have to tell you that I'm very excited about today's post. For one, we have our BLOG CANDY WINNER!!!

Random.Madelynn has drawn a name... and it's...it's....CHRISTI! We put everyone's name in a hat b/c there were some deleted posts and also some who didn't wish to be entered so to make sure it was done right, we did it the ol' fashioned way! CONGRATS Christi and I'll be mailing out your goodies today!!! Whoo hoo!

Now, I just have to tell you, too how excited I am about this week's sketch shown to the left here. Isn't it FABULOUS? Sometimes I wonder how this is all coming from an eight year old you know? Even though, I shouldn't say that because her creativity and imagination is something we've gotten very used to by now...but still, she just amazes me. Great job on this Madelynn! Mommy is SO proud of you!
I also have to tell you how excited I am about this little Pretty Hat Anya from The Greeting Farm! Isn't she fancy? I just love her. She comes with all different kinds of fun accessories...even animals!...that you can add to her fabulous hat. And I mean FABULOUS! That seems to be the theme...
I thoroughly enjoyed coloring her in, giving her a beautiful strand of pearls and coloring in the Rose with my Copic Spica pens. The lighting was pretty dim today in the house and my flash over did it, so you can't really see how GLORIOUSLY sparkly these pens are but OH MY...OH MY!!! Love them. Love her.
Ha ha reminds me of "My Best Friend's Wedding". Have you seen it? The part where Rupert Everett meets Kimmie's mom and goes "Love it. Love the bag, love the shoes, love everything. LOVE IT!" That's JUST how I feel about this fancy Anya :)

I have another card today from our Twinkle Team's featured stamper of the week, none other than the fabulous Cassie! Isn't this card GAWJUS???? I told her that after I woke up from fainting, I'd post it LOL! Seriously, I loved her interpretation of the sketch and it's pink...AND has butterflies. You girls are so good to me :) Cassie and I met through the Pink Papery Studios DT and have become friends. She is so sweet and cheerful every time we email and as the DT coordinator for PPS, she is SO encouraging to the rest of the team. Thanks for being our featured stamper this week, Cassie!
I LOVE the detail on this card. The colors, the 3D butterflies w/ the pearls...and I really like the piecing of the sentiment. So sweet! You really rocked this challenge, Cassie!
So, you want to play the sketch? We certainly hope you do! There's no time limit this week...just make sure you leave a comment here on this post so that DD and I can come take a look at your, well...fABULOUS creation!
Make sure you use keyword MTTSC4 on SCS or PCP. Speaking of which, did you know? Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesdays now has a group on PaperCraft planet! Check out the details HERE.
Be sure to stop by the ENTIRE Twinkle Team's blogs and show 'em some love today as they have whipped up some greatness for you to enjoy!
Stay tuned tomorrow as I have a few things to show you :) Til then...hugs!

Jessica :)
