Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge...Fairy Tales...and one more trip down the RABBIT HOLE...

I'm trying to think of a way that one will segue nicely into the other...for it just so happens that today's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge is all about Fairy Tales...and when I think of Fairy Tales...I of course think of Alice.

I'm having a blast as January Guest Designer for Kraftin' Kimmie and couldn't wait to get coloring ;)  That being said, I used Gabrielle on today's card as she is definitely Alice-esque and adorable, at that.  All ready for tea...all ready for another trip down the RABBIT hole...

You see, this is where it gets a bit hard for me....but I have some Oh Alice news.  Today will be our last challenge as Oh, Alice will be closing its doors.  However, one of our DT members, Lynne, has graciously offered to turn her blog,  'The Altered Alice", into the new home of Oh, Alice.  I am truly grateful for the one-year run we've had :)  I won't be doing much in the way of challenge blogs anymore as I really want to concentrate on TGF, Unity, and Taylored Expressions, not to mention getting to play with some pretty fun twine for the next 12 months ;)   And there are SCS challenge...neglected stamps...you guys know the drill ;)

It's simply time-and although I'm a bit sad because I love Alice so very much, Alice has a permanent place in my heart and in my dreams more so than on paper...and I'm ok with that :)  Still, it's hard to let something go-silly as it sounds, I know it's "just" a blog...but still...hard to let it go.

My card today, in addition to the adorable Gabrielle, uses Nikki Sivils paper.  Nikki is once again our AWESOME sponsor this week and I cannot thank her enough for being SO, SO super generous, not only to the players but also to our  DT.  Be sure to check out the PRIZE this last week of Oh, Alice and how you can enter!

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped make Oh, Alice a success and to my AMAZING DT, the "Twisted Sisters"...you will always be just as twisty to me <3  hee hee.

Be sure you stop by the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps blog to see what else the Krafty Gurlz have come up with for you and also to see what this week's prize is!  TONS of fun!

In other news, today as you read this I have MUCH to be happy and excited about, too!  My cousin/BFF Kim is in town and today we are meeting up w/ my friend Suzanne Dean for her Copic class her in Nashville and then tomorrow we'll be showing her around.  She is HOPING to run into Tim McGraw..we'll keep our fingers crossed, LOL!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone...it's time for one last trip down the Rabbit Hole... :)

Please make sure you stop by the Oh, Alice blog today for a NEW challenge and follow up on the Nikki Sivils winner!  I unfortunately do not have a card for Oh, Alice today but I will be there in spirit ;)

Today is Day THREE of Krafty Peeks from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and also our Saturday challenge!  This week's challenge on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Blog is to use FLOWERS on your card.

I have a special sneak peek for you today using an image from one of my FAVE artists-Annie Rodrigue! Annie's images are what drew me to Kraftin' Kimmie when she first opened her doors and the rest was history!  Meet:  ABIGAIL APPLE:

Isn't she fabulous?  I colored her w/ my Copics and used PTI Distressed Dot and Crate paper Restoration papers on my card with some Prima flowers to match and I LOVE how she remains the focal point of this card because she is big, bold, and the detail on her dress is AMAZING!  I love how she comes with the sentiment "You're as sweet as apple pie!"

Be sure to stop by the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog too, for the complete list of DT members previewing NEW images today.  There are SIXTEEN new releases in ALL-that is HUGE!

Until tomorrow-when I'll be back for our release day Blog hop....xoxo~

Kraftin' Kimmie and Oh, Alice...two of my favorite girls!...

`Oh, I've had such a curious dream!' said Alice, and she told her sister, as well as she could remember them, all these strange Adventures of hers that you have just been reading about; and when she had finished, her sister kissed her, and said, `It WAS a curious dream, dear, certainly: but now run in to your tea; it's getting late.' So Alice got up and ran off, thinking while she ran, as well she might, what a wonderful dream it had been.
-- Chapter 12, Alice in Wonderland

Pearly White Pirate...

Hey everyone!

{{{Thanks so much for scrolling down to view ONE more post-my OH, ALICE post!  We have a very PRETTIE sponsor this week that I wouldn't want you to miss!}}}

I am SOOO bummed that my month as Krafty Guest is already coming to a close!  Maybe it's me-with back to school, etc. August has really just FLOWN by-hard to believe!

Well, today's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie is a "Pearly White" challenge:  Create a card using WHITE and pearls!   Now, I wasn't sure if I should go ALL white or not, but I kind of (almost) did :)   I have such a hard time creating white-on-white cards that I thought some good layering and texture would give it a boost!

I used "Cutthroat Lizzie", colored her using a softer palette and added Prima pearls.  The sentiment "You're a Treasure" is also Kraftin' Kimmie :)

Be sure to stop by the rest of the Krafty Gals-they are TRULY talented and it's been an HONOR to work along side them!

That's it for me for now!  Be sure to head over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge blog and play along!

Let your Light Shine...or GLOW?...

I definitely think that Mr. Horace here has a GLOW to him, don't you?  Even coming out of the dark, distressed (and a bit disasterous looking on my card, I fear :( lol) night he glows a soft, eerie green by candlelight...

Ready for another SPOOKTACULAR challenge with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps?  The girls are seeing stars this week...literally!   Yep, the challenge is to use STARS on your card or project.  I got lucky this week as I busted open the new Matilda paper pack from Cosmo Cricket...the stars are all over the DP!  Plus I used my favorite star stamp from Verve and the sentiment is from the "Your a star" stamp set.

I hope you guys will play along with the Kraftin' Kimmie girls on the Challenge Blog this weekend!  They are:
Thanks for stopping by and have a STAR studded weekend, everyone!

CHAPTER 26: Sizing Up a Sketch (using Kraftin' Kimmie stamps!)

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for scrollin' down to be here with me while I am still PINCHING myself here in Wonderland that I'm a Guest Krafty Girl for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Today is the Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday challenge and boy is this challenge MADE FOR ME or what?   The Challenge is to use Bling, Scallops, and Buttons.  Are you kidding?  E-HEM.  DONE. :)  Pretty much l/2 my cards contain those, right?  Be sure to check out the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog for lots of Krafty samples and all the info on the challenge!

And don't forget to visit the blogs of the Kraftin' POWERHOUSES that I am honored to be guesting along side!  Their links are on my sidebar ------->  GO!  Visit!  Oooh and Ahhh!  :)

Thanks again to Kim for having the faith in me to have asked.  This month is going to be SO. MUCH. FUN :)

Now, I put this little card together not only following the recipe for the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge but today we are "Sizing up a SKETCH" by Jen:

CHAPTER 26: Sizing up a SKETCH:

"The Caterpillar was the first to speak.

`What size do you want to be?' it asked.

`Oh, I'm not particular as to size,' Alice hastily replied; `only one doesn't like changing so often, you know.'

`I DON'T know,' said the Caterpillar.

Alice said nothing: she had never been so much contradicted in her life before, and she felt that she was losing her temper.

`Are you content now?' said the Caterpillar.

`Well, I should like to be a LITTLE larger, sir, if you wouldn't mind,' said Alice: `three inches is such a wretched height to be.'

`It is a very good height indeed!' said the Caterpillar angrily, rearing itself upright as it spoke (it was exactly three inches high).

`But I'm not used to it!' pleaded poor Alice in a piteous tone. And she thought of herself, `I wish the creatures wouldn't be so easily offended!'

`You'll get used to it in time,' said the Caterpillar; and it put the hookah into its mouth and began smoking again..."

Today in Wonderland we are sizing up a GREAT sketch by JEN and the main panel just HAPPENS to be THREE. INCHES. TALL.  :)  Now, of course you don't have to stick to this if your image won't fit, but we didn't want to anger Mr. Caterpillar by saying that Three inches wasn't a respectable height!  :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the Oh, Alice team:

See you over on the Oh, Alice blog and don't forget to head to the Kraftin' Kimmie blog now, too!

HAPPY SATURDAY everyone!

I've been keeping something UNDER WRAPS... ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY, everyone!

{{{THANK YOU SO, SO much for SCROLLING DOWN for my Farm Fresh Friday post with TGF!  I normally wouldn't have two posts on a Friday...but....}}}

I've been KEEPING SOMETHING UNDER WRAPS indeed!   I am THRILLED to announce that I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for the month of August by none other than Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Did you see THIS POST???

Can I just TELL YOU how excited I was when I got her email?  I have been an avid Kraftin' stalker for SOME time now and I'm sure you've seen me posting here with her amazing images and the Twisty girls that I LOVE designed by Annie Rodrigue!  Let's just say that Kim didn't have to twist my arm!  AT ALL!

I am here for THREE DAYS in a row of previews for Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, all leading up to the Sunday release!   I am beyond excited and today I'm working with this fun Mitzi the Mummy.  This chick is lookin' a little green to me, what do you say?   LOL! I  ADORE her. She was really fun to color and is actually a great stamp to use for Halloween for anyone cuz Im sure that the kids are gonna love her just as much as the adults do!  Not to mention that it is actually GREAT for coloring because you have good control of coloring/shading your white space, too to give it some depth.  I definitely need the practice!

Be sure to check out the UBER talent that I am blessed to be working with this month-holy AMAZINGNESS Batman!  Just another thing you 'must have' ;)  Not only are these girls awesome, they are super nice, too!

Last but not least here's a pic of Kimmie and I from CHA.  I promise I'll be uploading my own pics soon now that my PC virus is gone cuz I really want to show you guys!

See you back here tomorrow with MORE Spooktacular peeks!   Thanks so much to Kim for having me along for the ride...or shall I say trick or treating with Kraftin Kimmie cuz this is DEFINITELY a treat!

Uh Oh....Hold your Temper...

CHAPTER 4:  Picturing Wonderland

"Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:Thus slowly, one by one,Its quaint events were hammered out -And now the tale is done,And home we steer, a merry crew,
Beneath the setting sun.

Alice! a childish story take, And with gentle hand lay it were Childhood's dreams are twined. In Memory's mystic band,Like pilgrim's wither'd wreath of flowers
Pluck'd in a far-off land..."

We have another sketch Challenge today, this time brought to us by our very own Pam Varnell!  Pam created this sketch JUST for the Oh, Alice! DT blog and it just reminds me of Wonderland itself!

Here's the sketch:

I can just hear the Red Queen about to steam "OFF with your HEAD!" when I see the quote "hold your temper", LOL!  But hey, little Miss Alicia the Strawberry Pirate looks a LITTLE torqued, doesn't she?  HA!   I love her-she's a rubber stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, our generous sponsor last week!  The sentiment is from Sassy Studio Designs :)

We'd LOVE for you to plunge Down the Rabbit hole with us again this week!   All you have to do is upload your creation to the OH, ALICE! Blog using Mr. Linky! The keyword this week for public galleries is OAC4.

There's no time limit for this week's sketch, so take your time here in Wonderland and ENJOY!  See you next Saturday, everyone!
