Is that even a correct use of the word? I don't know, but I can tell you I'm not one to pick up my brayer. In fact, I'll let you in on a little secret: I don't even know where mine is!!! If not for my good friend Darla, I would have been up a creek for today's challenge LOL!
Today's card featuring the adorable Cooper was made for our Pretties Wednesday challenge! This week's challenge was by Jackie R. to use a brayer. Would you believe that I don't even own a spectrum pad? Out of the million things I seem to have in my craft area, these two things weren't included!
So, I took my Kiwi Kiss and Pumpkin Pie ink pads and inked up half each onto the brayer. I then stamped my image of Cooper in Brown StazOn (timber) onto Shimmer White cardstock (papertrey ink) and then rolled the brayer back and forth over him. You can't really see it that great in the picture, but the shimmer white paper gives it a really neat effect. The colors appear softer and the whole piece has a pearlescent look which I love.
I colored OVER the image already layered w/ the ink from the brayer with my Copics, and again, because of the Shimmer White paper I got a nice soft effect, even with the markers. For the finishing touches, I used my CropADile to add some big eyelets and tucked a little treat under my Kiwi Kiss ribbon...after all, it's trick-or-treat time!
I also got to play along with another week of Mojo Monday using this week's sketch that you can see HERE on Julee's blog. The best of both worlds when you can incorporate things such as these! LOVE it!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by and see what the other Prettie Girls did for today's challenge!

Awwww, this is too cute! Love how you tucked the candy in there too! I'm not a big fan of the brayer either...I don't feel like I have enough control of the ink.
hugs, Jami
THis is absolutely adorable!
So cool, what a great idea, very cute.
Very cute! I don't use my brayer much, but you did wonderful. Sweet image. Love the sentiment. Great job on the challenge.
Tooooooo adorable Jess!!! LOVE your brayering (Your KICKS the patootie outta mine!!), the treat holder...love it all!!!
This is adorable!!! Don't feel bad...I don't even own a brayer. Ha!!! LOL :)
This is super cute! You continue to amaze me!
Way to go with the brayer! Awesome background for the little guy! Love the little treat...way cute!
Adorable, Jessica!! Great job with the brayer...
Oh man! This is CUTE and clever. I love that you brayered on the shimmer paper (how brilliant) that explains that awesome texture that i had to click on and drool over up-close-and-personal-like. It looks all retro-chic with that cute stamp. You ROCKed the brayer!
Personally, I am brayer challenged. I have two (lol) and 7 spectrum pads (one's even empty) but I am afraid to bray! Love the idea of doing it on shimmer paper though since it might not be as streaky as it is when i do it. OK, sorry for the novella. It's all your fault tho' You're just too darned inspiring! Hugs, :O) mel
Completely cute!! Love it!!
How darn cute and yummmy too! I couldn't decide on the brayering. I say it looks very very good from here.
Adorable little way to package a treat!! :)
So cute! Love how you tucked in the little chocolate!
