My First "BELLA-rific" Friday!...

...as a BELLA BABE, for that matter?  Can you say CLOUD. and NINE?

We have a POLKA-DOTTY challenge for you to check out over on Emily's Blog.  Everyone had two weeks to play this challenge and I can't wait to go check out some of the entries from our FABULOUS friends out there in Bella-land!

For my card, I used some yummy POLKA DOT paper by My Mind's Eye and used this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  chose to pull out one of my favorite lil' Green Bean Babies, Leila who always "Measures up".  And WHY do you ask, did I choose her?

Yep, yep!  The rumors are TRUE...I am a BELLA BABE for Stamping Bella! ...Jessabella, to be exact ;)   I am so thrilled to be working along side of some of the most AMAZING coloristas in the stamping WORLD-I am talking, I've been stalking these ladies for what seems to be forever and I cannot believe (pinch me!) I'll be working along side them.   I am really gonna have to make sure that *I* "Measure up"!!!! LOL!   Seriously big shoes to fill of babes past and present...I am STILL pinching myself.

SO thrilled to be working with Emily, too.  Em and I met at Winter CHA and instantly began what would  turn into a 3-day laugh-a-thon and she's just one of those "soul sistas" that I adore <3    It was SO much fun getting into trouble with her, sharing ideas over yummy food and shopping- and the fun has ONLY just begun!

You and Me=UNITY...

LOVE.

Yep, this card pretty much sums it up!   LOVE.

10 years ago today, I married my best friend.  Through thick and thin, we are still WE.   Two halves of a whole...two hearts became one in UNITY and never looked back....and since then, a pretty big life.  We love big, hurt big, dream big, and last but not least, we KEEP loving and living and just kind of taking one day at a time.... and through those days... 10 years, 4 kids, 2 dogs, ONE DREAM.

All in UNITY, all with him by my side.   Not in front of me, not behind me.  Just right there.   Happy Anniversary, DH.   LOVE doesn't even begin to explain it....

MY card today is for my DH, of course :)  He'll prob be embarrassed seeing this dorky pic of us and really it's kind of not the best pic of him...sorry honey ;)  hee hee.  We DEFINITELY need more photos of us!  But for now, it'll do ;)

I used this week's MOJO Monday sketch challenge and the SUPER fabu KOTM for January, appropriately titled "SAVOR THE JOURNEY".  HOW PERFECT does that title sound when we're talking about my 10th anniversary?  SAVOR THE JOURNEY...yeah ;)

Thanks for letting me share more UNITY with you today and I'll leave you with a little peek of a BIG present I received today... I've been wanting a Pandora bracelet for MONTHS and not only did I get it, but the first few beads couldn't mean more to me...  Here's a little pic:

The long bar in the middle is inscribed "Forever Together".  PERFECT.
The butterfly?  Self explanatory!  LOL!
The pineapple is a fun one.  Our FAVORITE place to vacation is Charleston, SC, as many of you know.   The pineapple is a symbol of welcome and is often found on staircases in old Charleston homes.  When I saw this, it reminded me of Charleston and he remembered!   LOVE IT.

There is nothing more meaningful than this type of a gift.  I am thrilled with my 5 little beads and can't wait to collect a few here or there as we continue to SAVOR THE JOURNEY and live out our little story.

LPS Monday: I ain't afraid of no ghosts...as in WHITE SPACE!

...OK, that's not true :) I'm TERRIFIED of white space! Eeek!

Well, thanks to Julee's Mojo sketch from last week (which I am entering JUST as the deadline approaches LOL), I'm not TOO skeered :) This was a great sketch and I'm really glad I played along.

When it comes to the Little Paper Shop stamps, I keep turning to the A DREAM stamp set again and again. I just love the quotes in this set, the font, and the ability to use such beautiful sentiments as the FACE of the card, and not just the inside. That last part really makes me happy, actually. I think there are so many beautiful sayings out there, so why not really showcase them?

There are going to be some VERY exciting things going on at The Little Paper Shop within the next few weeks...it's finally almost time for some new releases! Trust me, you DO NOT want to miss these! All I can say is {{{scream!}}}

Pretties Friday...Keeping Watch...

Hi everyone!

Sorry I'm a bit late with posting today...I was keeping watch over a few things that needed to be done at home and also with my lil' guy who I took to the doctor this morning when I noticed his splint didn't look quite right. Turns out I was right to go in because it did shift a bit, so the doctor got him all fixed up and did an x-ray while we were there. The xray shows that the healing is already beginning and he was actually able to get his stitches out which was unexepected and a relief. My little dude was a bit apprehensive, but it was nothing a sucker couldn't fix!

So, now we go back in a few weeks to determine when the rods will come out. No school all next week either w/ Thanksgiving break so we will continue to heal and keep him busy in his little chair. He is being SO good through all of this and the doctors and nurses are just wonderful. LOTS to be thankful for this year!!!

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, I decided to use this adorable Nativity set from Paper Pretties today. Isn't this little shepherd boy just the cutest? I love these new sets. Head on over to check them out! I was also able to incorporate this week's Mojo challenge which always makes me happy :) Speaking of challenges....

Pretties Friday: Get Well Mojo..

Hello my friends...happy Friday!

We are "bugged" with another cold/flu bug here in the house so today's card is very appropriate!Isn't this Bunny Slipper Sophia from Paper Pretties the cutest? I adore her...AND her slippers! I write this in my own jammies, as a matter of fact. It's one of those damp/cool mornings and I'll be hard pressed to change into real clothes! Gotta love that sometimes, though :)

I made this card for today's post, following the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, too. I love when I can play!!! I've been doing a lot of challenges lately and it's really keeping me on my toes! Gotta love that too when the mojo is flowin'! Pretty awesome when that happens...

Speaking of awesome, have you checked out the sale at Paper Pretties???!?!?!? Pretties Wednesday: To Bray or not to Bray?

Is that even a correct use of the word? I don't know, but I can tell you I'm not one to pick up my brayer. In fact, I'll let you in on a little secret: I don't even know where mine is!!! If not for my good friend Darla, I would have been up a creek for today's challenge LOL!

Today's card featuring the adorable Cooper was made for our Pretties Wednesday challenge! This week's challenge was by Jackie R. to use a brayer. Would you believe that I don't even own a spectrum pad? Out of the million things I seem to have in my craft area, these two things weren't included!

So, I took my Kiwi Kiss and Pumpkin Pie ink pads and inked up half each onto the brayer. I then stamped my image of Cooper in Brown StazOn (timber) onto Shimmer White cardstock (papertrey ink) and then rolled the brayer back and forth over him. You can't really see it that great in the picture, but the shimmer white paper gives it a really neat effect. The colors appear softer and the whole piece has a pearlescent look which I love.

I colored OVER the image already layered w/ the ink from the brayer with my Copics, and again, because of the Shimmer White paper I got a nice soft effect, even with the markers. For the finishing touches, I used my CropADile to add some big eyelets and tucked a little treat under my Kiwi Kiss ribbon...after all, it's trick-or-treat time!

I also got to play along with another week of Mojo Monday using this week's sketch that you can see HERE on Julee's blog. The best of both worlds when you can incorporate things such as these! LOVE it!

Vintage, Timeless Mojo, a little inside peek at the CRAZY side of Jess, and 2 Challenges completed!

Hey guys! I'm so excited about my post today. I am sorry as I am posting my Little Paper Shop DT Team Challenge a day late...but I swear I had it done yesterday LOL!

Allison issued a challenge to the Design Team this month to create a Vintage card. I showed you one of them on this post for preview day, but wanted to make another one special for the challenge.

In addition, when I found out Mojo Monday was back, I looked at the sketch and thought well...I will get to that but I don't know how good I'll be at this week's challenge....yada yada yada.

Ok, so have you guys ever had that "lightbulb moment?" I SWEAR to you this is what happened. So, I was sitting at the table talking to the DH and making a stationery set for my Mom as a thank you for babysitting last week. Coffee was being sipped, politics and cars were being discussed (I know...), and I was working at a nice, relaxed pace and then....

BOOM! Idea. Must. Create. Now...

I don't think I've ever done this before, but in that moment, I literally, dropped EVERYTHING, left ALL the supplies out that I was using for my Mom's cards and began grabbing supplies, inks, and paper like a FREAK. I mean, a FREAK. My DH sat there, head shaking...I can only imagine what was being thought. I didn't care. Must. Create. Now.

So WHAT was the fuss about? The CLOCK! The CLOCK! I'm yelling, in my kitchen. "Am I supposed to pick up Jack now?" he asks me...I would have laughed, but I was too crazed. "NO, the CLOCK!" I'm flailing now, everywhere, ripping through my embellishment case looking for something that only I could know about and then...VOILA! There it was. The little vintage clock embellishment that I bought for a project LAST MAY and never used...


BOOM. An idea was born. I somehow, in all my madness, had this vision for the circle part of the Mojo Monday sketch and it was all in place from there. I then realized that the clock was distressed and that this would make the perfect vintage card as well. I got REALLY nutso when I was cutting out arrows for the hour and second hands and almost cut my finger LOL! Occupational hazard, right? I'm such a dork! I really loved the way the distress ink worked to make the hands really match the clock though. That was fun for me. What's more? Uh, did you SEE the quote from The Little Paper Shop's NEW RELEASE, A Dream? Could it be any more perfect for a clock card???

Even better was the fact that I got to use my favorite paper again, from the new Laundry Line from My Mind's Eye. My photo doesn't do it justice as it was dark and rainy today but this paper is absolutely amazing. I love it and I am going to have to stockpile it so I am never without it LOL. I'm a little obsessive at times, I admit it ;)

Well, I hope you enjoyed getting on board my creative roller coaster this morning! It was a wild ride, I guess...but fun to see how the process unfolds sometimes, huh? Mojo Monday Madness and an EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Hey everyone! It's definitely NOT just another "Manic Mojo Monday" here...as I have some VERY exciting news!

I am thrilled and honored to announce that I have been invited to serve as a Guest Design Team member for The Little Paper Shop!!!

The Little Paper Shop offers clear stamps in a wide array of images and themes. They are VERY well made and etched and provide beautifully stamped images every time you use them. Owner Julia Betemps has provided a wonderful assortment of stamps and really pretty fonts and sentiments that aren't like a lot of the "other" stamps out there on the market...seriously!

In addition to being OVER the moon that I have the privelege to work with Julia, wait until you check out the rest of the Design Team! I have to say, the only word that comes to mind when I first saw who I would be getting to work with was...SPEECHLESS! Ok, and we ALL know that Jess is rarely EVER speechless LOL! The wonderful women on this team are some of the most talented artists in the stamping "arena" and I am beyond honored to be among them on this team. This is a VERY exciting time for me and I thank Julia and all the girls at LPS for being so welcoming to me!!!

Well, in addition to this FAB news, I thought I'd incorporate Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch for the week using some AWESOME stamps by The Little Paper Shop!

I decided to make these into a little gift set and box so I made four similar cards but w/ different sentiments and embellishments just to jazz it all up a bit.

Funny when I went to Julia's blog today I saw that SHE made four little square cards too w/ a cute box...which I had NO idea until I clicked on her blog this morning...isn't that a riot? Great minds, right??!! Too funny. You should check hers out..it's darling!

This is a super quick and easy project to use as a teacher gift, bday gift, or just because. I cut the cards into 4.5X4.5 inch squares, a really GREAT TIP that Julee Tilman had on her Mojo Monday blog post today..that way, the cards still fit in a standard size envie and you don't get whacked w/ international postage!!! Isn't that a great idea?

I then got out a clear card box (from Papertrey) and decided to do a really simple "belly band" with this cute little "handmade" stamp by The Little Paper Shop. It comes in their Floral Wishes set which is one of my favorites and one that I used primarily for these cards. The end result was a finished looking but VERY simple package for the cards and I just can't wait to give it to someone!

Last dose of Summer "Mojo"...

Hi everyone on this terrific Tuesday! I know, I know, yesterday was the first day of Fall...but isn't this little Hula Pengy SOOOOO cute? I just HAD to play with this set one last time and get Summer outta my system!

In addition, this is again an example of what you can do with your scraps! I had a bunch of this coordinating DP that matched my stamps and had cut into it little by little since I got it back in May. So, now that the leaves are going to be a-changin, it was time for me to use up what I could!

I followed Julee's Mojo Monday sketch this week pretty much to the tee, and this is what I came up with. I really love playing along with her challenges because she really does have some of the best sketches doesn't she? Of course, I pride myself on creating my own card layouts when I can, but hey, you gotta share the wealth sometimes right? That's the coolest thing about sketches, in my opinion. It's basically a blank canvas with directions! LOL! I absolutely LOVE going around to see every participants take on a certain sketch...in the end they are all totally different looking cards which is just so cool to me.

EXCITING NEWS!!!..and a Mojo Monday card for ya :)

Happy Monday everyone!

I am BURSTING with excitement this morning as I am able to announce to you that I have been chosen for a Design Team position with A Walk Down Memory Lane!
I will be designing monthly Card Kit samples, doing product reviews, writing for their newsletter and having a TON of fun! When Lisa called me last night I was about to jump through the roof. She has an excellent reputation to work for and she offers a ton of product through A Walk Down Memory Lane.

One of the nice and exciting things about this company is that they carry items from ALL the best scrapping/stamping brands, as opposed to being brand-specific. It's literally ONE STOP SHOPPING for ALL of your scrapbooking/rubber stamping/papercrafting items! When I saw her store, I was saying to myself "oh boy...I'm in trouble!" LOL!

You really should head on over and check it out. Some really great stuff and the prices are great, too! You'll be seeing me a lot more over there now, too, so make sure you stop by and say hello to me and the other 4 new DT girls. We are going to be having some fun!

I will be designing for AWDML from October through March. Thanks to all for you support and can't wait to share my first assignments with you!!!

Now, for this week's Mojo Monday card....when I saw Julie's sketch for this week, I thought PERFECT! I can use up some BG Figgy Pudding and SU Kiwi Kiss scraps that I liked too much to just throw away.

I also used my LAST piece of True Thyme CS by Stampin' UP! (sniff sniff...RIP True Thyme)...would someone tell me WHY this got discontinued? LOL! Anyway, layering the papers the way the sketch was drawn, I then embellished using some ribbon from Hobby Lobby, Hero Arts baubles in the bottom right corner, and Hero Arts mini-rhinestones for the outer trim on the snowflake.

I LOVE the new set, Snow Swirled, by SU. It will definitely be VERY loved this season as I begin my Christmas Card frenzy! To finish off the card, I stamped the Season's Greetings Sentiment in the middle using Timber StazOn and used Stickles in the outer corners of the snowflake and also in the upper, smaller snowflake. Hope this gets you all in a cheerful mood! Thanks for looking as always!

Another dose of Mojo Madness...

Hello again and Happy Wednesday!



I actually got a good night's sleep last night and my, what a difference it makes in my productivity! I couldn't wait to sit down and get started this morning on Julee's Mojo Monday sketch from this week (number 52).


I decided to use the new Baja Breeze CS by Stampin Up! since it goes so well with the Afternoon Tea DP. I think Afternoon Tea is by far one of my favorite papers to work with. It's JUST so pretty. Layering the two sides of the paper and distressing it with Versamagic Tea Leaves ink made it an easy "palette" to work with.


This particular sketch was also an extraordinary excuse to work with my years-old Hodgepodge Hardware kit from SU! I purchased the new, pretty silver kit last year and made myself a promise that I wouldn't be tempted to open it until this version was all used up and gone...what a challenge it has been LOL! Thanks Julee, for the inspiration and for making me use my older supplies first ;) I attached the hardware with Wild Wasabi Ribbon and used the brads from the kit as well.


To finish up the card, I stamped one of my favorite verses from the Beautiful You set by Verve as the focal point. I decided it needed a little "somethin somethin" so I again turned to the absolutely amazing flower from the Beautiful You set to add to the focal point. I used the same chalk ink (Tea Leaves) with a dauber to color it in and then added a bit of Stardust Stickles in the middle for a bit of bling :)

I decided to make another card that definitely derives from the sketch although I did vary a bit from it. I really love the quotes from the Beautiful You set, and anything to do with butterflies is just SURE to make my little heart flutter!


Following the same pattern, I made another card. Oh, by the way, the butterflies in the oval are from a Hero Arts clear set and I'm sorry I don't remember the name! I added pearls this time instead of brads to the center quote.


My favorite part about this card was using the Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart crafts to add to the center and give it a dimensional effect. I used another paper from the Afternoon Tea set and distressed the edges of the b-flies with the same Tea Leaves ink. I then added a few more pearls, popped them up on a dimensional and gave them life by gently bending/curling the wings up...you only want to do this a tiny bit but it really adds something to the effect, I think.

Bling-a-licious MOJO Monday!!!

Happy Monday, everyone!

I am so excited to be participating in my VERY FIRST Mojo Monday Challenge issued by Julee Tilman of Verve Stamps!

For this challenge, I followed her sketch to create the layers for this card, carefully choosing some really fun pink prints to reflect, well...ME! LOL!

I had SUCH a great time with this challenge I got a bit carried away with the bling but ya know, I personally feel that you can't have too much bling in MOST cases ;)

I used Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush cardstocks, and chose two designer papers from the Papertrey "Pink Patterns" collection. Following the sketch, I placed the papers in line with Julee's sketch, adding Sweet Blush ribbon and also a few rhinestones to balance out the plainer pink area within the card.

I made it my own by adding a scalloped circle to showcase the ADORABLE cupcake image from Verve Stamps' Cupcake Affair...one of my favorite sets! Then, it was time to "frost" the cupcake :) Using Liquid Applique and Stickles, I frosted the cupcake. I also "blinged out" the little floral lacing underneath by adding small, delicate rhinestones to each flower. I also added a bit of bling to the flowers surrounding the cupcake and then "colored" the flowers in using Stickles.
