Every Cloud has a Silver Lining...

Hey everyone!

It's Friday...and I'd say TGIF but I am battling a bit of a pest right now...aka a sinus thing.  Ugh!  I guess when you add up the fact that it was 106 last weekend, plummeted to 55 this past week, and is now in the 70s, that make for some wonky changes in pressure.  Add to that, it was a bit of a trying week (which has also proven to be over and actually, a blessing and I am oh-so-grateful for good friends and loyal peeps :) and the fact that we have been painting the bathroom....yeah, I'll just say, Ouch.  Not a fan of that pressure and 'fuzzy' head feeling...but this too, shall pass, right?

Today I'm posting an Art Journal page for Bella-riffic Friday and also my entry for this week's "Cloud" theme in the TGF heART Journaling challenge.

"Too many people MISS the SILVER LINING because they're expecting gold..."  ~Maurice Setter

I love that.   So it became the sentiment for my "Silver Lining" themed page.

Funny story..well, not funny, but it appears that I do not have ANY Stamping Bella animal stamps that were required for this week's challenge...not even those cute cute kitties :(  It also turns out I have NO animal paper (not even a leopard print or zebra stripe to be found!) and NO animal embellishments.  So....

the CLOSEST thing I had to an animal was a beautiful Butterfly from the "Spring Butterflies" set.  Here's my page for this week's challenge:

Also used for this page:

Next week we are taking off for Bella-riffic Friday as da Bella herself will be at ScrapFest in Minnesohhhhta, so check out this fun sketch for the 23rd and I hope you'll ALL play- you've got two whole weeks to get this one under your belt:

That's it for me today, but be sure to check out Bloggabella for the latest and greatest from da othah Bellas... :)

***If you are looking for my ECHO PARK/TWINERY blog hop post, please click HERE.***

Hey, everyone!

Are you STILL so excited about the darling MEGA-release in Bella-land this week?
Have you heard?  Stamping Bella released 29 NEW IMAGES this past Monday and I'm in LOVE
with them ALL!

This past week, we've challenged all of you happy stampers in Bella-land to create a card or project
to get out those cute little "HUGGABUGGS" and create with them :)

Well, funny story.  I actually do not own a single huggabugg stamp at the moment.  Can you believe that?  That being the case, I have a different project for you but because I have other stuff to post with it, please actually scroll UP for that project, thanks!  I hope you all had a TON of fun creating with the Huggabuggs this past week!

Please do check out the lovely creations of my teammates:

Next week we have a sketch challenge! Take a peek:

Well, that's it for me today- for now, anyway!  Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out BLOGGABELLA for more inspiration!!

Sweet Watermelons, flowers, and a GIVEAWAY for a Summer "Send-off"...

Ok...I am not REALLY sending off Summer because part of the reason I live in the South is to PROLONG our summer as long as possible!  However, school has been in session for TWO weeks now, can ya believe it?  I still can't.  My heart has literally left me in little pieces these past few weeks as I watch my children grow up before my eyes...thankfully these pieces are returned to me, almost in tact, each day they return off the bus  (even on those 'chaos' days, haha!)

Anyway, I have a card today debuting a BRAND NEW stamp from Stamping Bella, this little chick's name is JASMINE and she is DARLING, is she not?!  LOVE her.  Today for the Bella-riffic Friday challenge we had a 'paper piercing' challenge so as you can see I had fun piercing :)   Next week's challenge is to pull out those CUTE "huggabuggs" and use 'em!  Check out the rest of my Bellariffic teammates too- links are on my left sidebar here!

So....my last trip to the Nashville Farmer's Market inspired me to think of how much I LOVE flowers and watermelon, in particular, during the summer.  That may sound funny, but it's where my mind went while making this card, which is also featured today over on the TWINERY BLOG!.  Also inspiring was a card I received for my birthday (another one of my favorite things about summer!) from a dear friend of mine who used Twinery Twine that she created into a handmade flower embellishment.  I loved it SO much I had to try it and here's what I came up with:

I took some BLOSSOM twine snippets and glued them down to the back of a button, being careful to leave the button holes open until I achieved the desired look of this flower.   Wrapping some HONEYDEW twine around my card  (see the cute watermelon-inspired paper?) I pulled it through the button and tied it into a bow.  This was SO EASY and so much fun to do!

Now, speaking of ALL this cute Twinery twine, have you seen the newest COLORS?   Check them out:
As I am feeling UBER grateful for my friends in the stamping community (I'm hanging out with TWO of them TODAY, as a matter of fact...can you guess WHO they are?  LOL!) and my family, I am GIVING AWAY a sampler pack of this new TWINE!

Leave me a comment here saying what YOUR favorite thing about summer is and I'll announce the winner on Monday at 12:01 AM CST so you have all through SUNDAY NIGHT to enter!

Good luck and thanks for sending-off SUMMER with me so sweetly!  <3

Hardware malfunction...

Say it with me....oy.
LOL!

After installing some updates on my trusty ol' laptop here and some weather moving into the area I have had some computer and internet woes- so sorry my Bellariffic Friday post is up a bit late, but I'm SO glad you're here!

I have been wanting to play with this ADORABLE Tabitha Tea Cup girl stamp for a while and today was the day!

This week at Stamping Bella we have a "Hardware" challenge, to use hardware on our projects.  I'm not a big fan of the metal embellies but these Filigree brads from Stampin' Up! have always been one of my favorite embellishments to use.  I think they are so pretty and dainty looking and were just PERFECT for proper Miss Tabitha here :)

I paper pieced her teacup and she's colored with Copics.  My apologies about the thick border on this card, I was fooling around with Photoshop in preparation for a HUGE 365 Project I am participating in and trying to get the basics of PSE 8 down...what a feat!  Sheesh!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Bellariffic Babes this week:

Next up?   one of my FAVE techniques!  Our August 12th challenge is to use PAPER PIERCING on your card or project- so send those Bellariffic projects into Em- you never know!  You could win Bella bucks just for entering or commenting on Bloggabella.~

on that note- I'll be back soon.  I have a HeART Journaling project to share and a giveaway this weekend too!  For now, I'm clearing off the table to STAMP with my Mama :)   I can't wait til' she gets here to play with me!

...a Bella-riffic Christmas in JULY?!...

...ok.  I gotta tell ya- I LOOOOOVE my Bellas.  My Stamping Bellas... ;)

So much so, that it's ONE HUNDRED (and two ;) degrees out and I'm having to bend my brain to Christmas time.  LOL!!!  Now, I know that LOTS of new product comes out LONG before the weather outside gets frightful, but I am so not a winter person to begin with that this is really hard for me.  In fact, I don't even submit to the mag's during this time of year because they usually want Christmas copy and well...I just don't do Christmas THAT early.

However, I pulled out some leftover (and retired) Girls' Paperie scraps and this super cute little stamp "Santa's Birdhouse" from Stamping Bella to make my "Christmas in July" card today:

Well, what do you think?  Are you hearing carols and craving hot chocolate?  I guess I've succeeded if you are...or maybe even just if you think it's cute, LOL!!!

Be sure to stop by the rest of da Bellas to see how THEY got festive today:

That's all for me.... be back soon and ENJOY a lovely weekend, everyone!

Hey, everyone!

It's Bella-riffic Friday already...can you believe it?  This week FLEWWWW by!
Today I will make this post short and sweet so we can all get to our WEEKEND!

This week, we used a "Bella or a Stella" stamp.  I actually don't own a Stella (yet ;), but couldn't wait to ink up this ADORABLE "I-wish-I-looked-that-good-on-a-bikeabella" (LOVE the name, lol!) from Stamping Bella.  Here's my card this week, featuring baker's twine from The Twinery:

Isn't that button great?  I love how it picked up the color from the fun papers and the cork that I've been hoarding, I'm almost out- eeks!

Don't forget to visit the rest of the Bellariffic Babes today to see if it was BELLA or a STELLA:

Last but not least, our challenge next week will be to use this awesome sketch by our own Jeaniebella aka Chicken :)

BELLA riffic RIBBON Friday!...

Hey, peeps!

I have really NO idea where this week went...and that's odd considering it's SUMMER, right?  Whew- the weeks are really flying by, aren't they?

We had a nice little break last week from the Bella-riffic challenges at Stamping Bella, but I have to say I'm glad we're back today; they perk me up :)
That being said, we're back with a RIBBON challenge this week and I'm using Perk-Me-Up Peep on my card today:

Aren't these little peeps so cute?   I used some saddle-stitched ribbon and tied a bow on one side, using Maya Road wooden button, (my FAVORITE buttons!) and some TWINERY twine :)

We hope you'll play along this week, there's a $20 GIFT VOUCHER prize up for grabs along with a $10 prize just for leaving a comment on BLOGGABELLA today!

Last but not least, speaking of Peeps, you'll definitely want to check out the UBER-talented Bella Babes:

That's it for me for now...but I'll be back VERY soon with another post and shortly after, a BIG announcement!  You will NOT want to miss this, trust me!

Call me, Peeps!

Hey, everyone!

I'm back with another Bella-riffic Friday post and I'm excited to be showing this FUN sketch by our very own Jeaniebella:

What's more?  I've been enjoying the company of two of my very bestest girlies, Pammy and Mercy and I am THRILLED to finally be able to see them again.  (Jessie we are thinking of you this weekend and wish you the BEST with your move!  :)

Funny, when I was coloring up the image for my card today, I didn't really think it would tie into a post about being with my friends, but it totally did... Seriously, does anyone even REMEMBER rotary phones?  I remember thinking I was so super cool when I learned to dial then phone with a pen or pencil eraser, LOL....I remember the first time I called a boy on a rotary phone.  It took forever to get to that 7th digit and I remember the butterflies grew stronger with each passing turn of the dial....most of all, I remember how my Grandma used to take her index finger and point it ever so perfectly and elegantly to dial a number from her yellow wall phone...ah, the things we remember.

Does ANYONE call anyone anymore?  I do, when I can.  For a long time I got into a rut of not talking to anyone over the phone.  I am a huge texter and emailer, facebooker, etc. but really there is nothing like a good ol' fashioned call or even a card in the mail.  I sent out a bunch of cards the other day and the emails I've been getting are really telling- you can really feel the appreciation and I am going to continue to do that because it made my heart happy to hear!  It's rare and precious times like these when you can actually visit in PERSON that make it even more important to sprinkle my loved ones' world with little calls and cards in the mail when I can...because they are a POSITIVE influence in my life and I want to be one in theirs <3  Something about hearing happy voices on the other end of that line...love it :)

SO yeah...the "Call Me Peep" from Stamping Bella ended up being a VERY appropriate little stamp for today!   I colored the image w/ my Copics and used

Well, we are OFF next week in Bella-land, peeps!  There will be no challenge on the 1st, but please keep in mind that our BELLA BOOK BUNCH discussion goes live on the 1st on our very own forumabella!

Then, on July 8th, we'll be back in full force with a ___ challenge so be sure to visit Em's blog for all the details on 'commentaytin'" and winning!   See you soon, everyone...and don't forget to visit the rest of the Bella Babes:

Have a FABBY weekend...CALL someone!

Here Comes Summer!...

...my all-time FAVORITE time of year!
Today at Stamping Bella we have a fun "Here Comes Summer" challenge which has paired quite nicely with our "citrus cool" challenge that kicked off our 2nd monthly "Fun-tastic" forum challenge!  You can read all about that HERE.

For today, I decided to use the SUPER cute Annie again and paired her with some fun, summer paper from American Crafts (pebbles) Happy Go Lucky line.  I just adore the BRIGHT and cheery colors, don't you?  The sentiment is from my friends at Avocado Arts.  The sunshine theme was just what I needed :)

You'll definitely want to check out Emily's Blog to see what the other Bellas have been up to, and to find out how YOU can win $10 just for commenting and $20 for entering our challenge next week, which is a sketch from our very own chipper chicken, Jeanie Witmer!

Here's the sketch:

We hope you'll play along!  For now, I'll send you off to visit:

I am taking a much-needed day off blogging tomorrow and will be back on Sunday for a VERY exciting blog swap between HELMAR and Best Creations!  See ya then as I gear up for another fun-filled week!

For the Record, I {heart} Bella-riffic Fridays...

Hey, everyone!  I am BACK!
DC was awesome but utterly exhausting.  I am still processing how much was accomplished in 3 days there-really only 2 touring DC b/c the last day was spent at Six Flags before we embarked on our overnight ride home. Crazy town!  I am sunburnt, sore, and have a blister the size of a quarter on my right foot- right in the arch.  OW!  I took a pic but DH says it's gross and not to put it on my blog, LOL! Oh well... life is good and what a wonderful, educational, and eye-opening trip.  best part?  The one-on-one time I got to spend w/ my girl.  Loved every minute of that....

I am TOTALLY excited about Bella-riffic Friday today and the PAPER PIECING challenge we have for you today.  Stamping Bella is HOPPIN' and I can't wait to see all the entries from this past week! Paper piecing has always been a fave technique of mine and I couldn't wait to use my 6x6 Sampler pack of "For the Record" paper by Echo Park again.  As soon as I re-visited the yellow plaid I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to work with.  Here's "LuLu's Two Pies":

She is gorgeous, isn't she?  I really love the artistry of the Lulu's and seriously can't believe how long it took me to own one!

Now, did I mention Bella-land was hoppin'?  Today also kicks off our VERY FIRST Book Club discussion on the Forumabella and I cannot WAIT for our live CHAT LATER THIS WEEK~ SO STAY TUNED FOR Details and for when I open up the discussion on the FORUM If you can't make the live chat, no worries, you can leave a comment on the discussion forum at ANY time!  TOTALLY excited for this and just hope you can join us at some point!  :)

Last but not least, next week's challenge is our "Here Comes Summer" challenge so use your imagination and get summery!   Last but not least, you have FOUR more days to enter our FIRST Monthly challenge on the Forum!  Check out all the details for that HERE :)

Talk to you soon, sistahs!  It's been a crazy week!

Just my Type on Bella-riffic Friday...

Hey everyone!

It's me, back again with another Bella-riffic Friday challenge for Stamping Bella!  This week, we are makin' it MASCULINE by creating a card for a fella ;)
I'm like, the LAST person who's able to pull off a masculine card but I'm givin' it a try with this awesome 6x6 sampler pack of "For the Record" paper by Echo Park, available at Claudia and Company!

I wanted to make a quick card for my DH 'just because', and this typewriter stamp just screamed 'use me!  pick me!".  So I colored it up w/ my Copics and here's the finished product:

Wanna see what the rest of my Bella sistahs made using this week's theme?  Check 'em out:
Next week, we have a PAPER PIECING challenge- one of my fave techniques!  Hope you'll join us for that too!  Don't forget to check on Bloggabella to see who's winning bella bucks this week for commenting AND for playing along....there's a $10 and $20 voucher each week up for grabs!

It's another KRAFTY Friday...

Hiya Bella-riffic peeps!
Yep, it's Friday already...WHERE does the time GO?

Today I have two posts, so thanks for stickin' with me.  Today in Bella land we are gettin' Krafty again...as in KRAFT, NAVY, and GREEN on our projects!

Before I get to my card today, I have to send a HUGE shout-out to my sweet friend Lisa Hetrick.  Lisa was clearing out some stash now that she's diving in full-force to her AWESOME new illustrations for Avocado Arts, a new stamp co.  You can see more about them HERE.   Anyway, Lisa out of the blue just asked me last week if I wanted her Bella stash and I was unaware of how HUGE it was until she sent pics...she sent me over 20 Bellas- ALL from the original Bella line and ALL that I did not have.  In fact, like 8 of them were brand new!   Thank you SO SO much sweet Lisa- I used "Balloon-a-bella" on my card today, one of the stamps I got from her and I just adore her!

I added a Webster's Pages resin Heart as it was the perfect size for the balloons and paper pieced her dress with pretty much the ONLY thing CLOSE to Navy Blue in my stash (not a fan of that color I guess, LOL!)   I'm really not, it's kind of funny.  I own NO navy cardstock, no navy Copics, and no patterned paper.  I don't have anything "against" the color per se, but I'm thinking subconsciously, I definitely don't like it, LOL!

Oh well.... THANKS for stopping by today and PLEASE go check out the awesome Forum now that it's been revamped.  We are even starting the "Bella Book Bunch", a monthly Book discussion group and would LOVE for you to join us!  Stamping Bella is such a fun community and we'd love for you to join us!

Last but not least, don't forget to visit the other Bella Babes:

Bella-riffic Friday's gone KRAFT-y...

Hiya sistahs!

I know you're not gonna BELIEVE this?!?  But pssst.  BLOGGER WAS DOWN.  Hence the late post, LOL!  Seriously, you'd think this was getting about as much coverage as the Royal Wedding was... LOL!  I happen to have enjoyed the break from my laptop.  We went to the lake yesterday and skipped rocks and then today I had a lovely day w my DH and now we're just kinda chillin' so I've finally gotten around to posting.  ANYWAY....  ;)

Today for Bella-riffic Friday we are gettin' down with the Kraft-y-ness...meaning we are using KRAFT on our projects today!

I realized when I went to do my card today that I was COMPLETELY OUT of Kraft paper... LOL!  Thankfully a short run to Hobby Lobby was able to remedy this and I was back in business ;)

Whew!  So, today on my card I'm using Julie's Spring Butterflies- love them!  I'm also following a sketch for the "A Day for Daisies" Challenge.  The sketch was created by my friend Jen Shults and I wanted to show my support :)

Be sure to visit the other Bella Babes and see what they've been KRAFTing this past week for you, too! Links are on my sidebar :)

Next week, we are using this lovely sketch by Paulabella:

Be sure to submit your entries using this sketch to Em, da queen Bella herself to be included in NEXT Friday's Bella-riffic post and also to be entered to win a gift voucher!

Last but not least, we have TWO new features coming soon on the Forumabella that you will NOT want to miss!  Coming MAY 15th, and the 15th of every month after, we are having a special FORUM-only challenge!

What's more?  The Bella sistahood has spoken and we are THRILLED  to be beginning the "Bella Book Bunch"...a monthly book club, VERY soon!...so be sure to sign up for the FORUM before you miss all that fun info...and hey, those are only TWO reasons why it's fun to hang out with the Bellas in Bella-land!
