LPS Monday: A Good Book...

Hello all,
Happy Monday! I'm posting a little early this week to put my LPS card up in time to qualify for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I loved this week's sketch! So, with that, HAPPY LPS MONDAY! :)
Well, we had a fun filled weekend here at the house...sheesh. Crazy crazy! Friday we attended Family Movie Night at the school. It was put on by the club that DD is in, so she served popcorn and juice boxes to everyone flooding in for the 7pm showing of Madagascar 2. I've seen it 47 times now *(not really, lol, but seems that way hee hee), but this time was my favorite.
I will tell you that even though my butt was numb by the end of it, there is NOTHING like sitting in the dark, curled up on a blanket with 4 little people in their pajamas clung to different parts of your body, all while camped out on the Gym floor of our little school. It was really, really cute, I have to say. I hope they do something like that again...we had a great turnout and the kids LOVED being able to hang out at school at night in their jammies. Too cute!

Speaking of all things DD related, that poor kid had assessment testing all week last week. I mean, seriously, that's pretty intense, I think, for 3rd grade. We were all instructed to send extra snacks, etc. but seriously? For five days straight? Then w/ homework on top of it lots of work and pretty draining. There wasnt' much time this past week for her fave pasttime, reading a good book. She was SO tired. So, at the end of this long week, I rewarded her w/ my childhood copy of Charlotte's Web that she had been eyeing at my parents' house, and I am giving her today's card as a congrats for all her hard work last week. I really wanted her to ENJOY the weekend reading and relaxing, just like the card says ;)

Isn't this little Jena Book Image from the Little Paper Shop too cute? Totally reminds me of my girl. She is one of several BRAND NEW digital images from The Little Paper Shop, on sale NOW!

Want to play along in this week's challenge on the LPS blog? We'd love you to! ALL you need to do this week is create a card using a new digital image from The Little Paper Shop. Don't have one? Well, wait until you see how reasonable they are! Grab one...or a few...and have fun playing! There's a prize this week, too!
One lucky winner will be chosen to win their choice of one of the new Digital images, so good luck and be sure to check out the rest of what our talented DT has for you today...links are on my sidebar!
Have a great day, all!

Movie night sounds like a lot of fun. I wish they had done something like that when we were kids! I would have loved to be at school in my jammies!!

Poor Madelynn! I still can't believe they made them test for that long. That is ridiculous! I mean finals in college aren't even that bad! Sheesh!!! i know though that she will love this card! Wow! This is just beautiful!! I love the color combo and the way you incorporated the layout!! Your coloring is perfect and the image is a must have! I need to go order mine now!

Smiles,

I'm so lucky we aren't at the age for kiddie movies in the theatre yet - though we do watch the same cartoons here over and over and over again.

Cute card - anything with a book is cool with me :)

This is an adorable card. Madelynn will love it!

Brittany is in the 3rd grade too an they start PRE assessments all this week then have the real assessment ALL week next week. They do 2 weeks of it and it is so much for little ones!!

Sweet card, and sweet thing to do for your daughter! My daughter is in 3rd grade too but her tests aren't until April. They have already been "practicing" for the tests, though. I think the way things are done now they spend more time training them to take the test than actually teaching...Not the teachers' fault though, just the way the system is now!

Very cute card and what a nice thing to do for maddie. Poor kid, why on earth can't they break up such rigorous testing?
