It's time for another Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and I'm SO excited to be using this super cute image called "Bye Bye" by Mo's Digital Pencil. I can't really explain though how this image really tugs at my heartstrings...
Do you remember the video I showed you on THIS post? I look at this image and how it reminds me of my little one and I think of this quote from the video:
...THAT's why I have to LOVE YOU this FIERCELY....so that you can feel it even after you leave for school...or even while you're asleep....or even after your childhood becomes a memory..."
I often wonder how it's possible that the time goes so fast. My kids are getting so big and it's happening so quickly and it's kind of awesome and kind of heartbreaking all at the same time. With the getting older, we are able to do more, have conversations, "get" each other...but with the getting older comes the crazy time warp....the disappearance of "baby arms" (you guys know-the little 'chicken fat' they grow out of), just little things here and there that really make me sad.
Luckily our youngest missed the Sept cut off for school so she will be home for one more year of preschool next year before she starts Kindergarten...but this image really evoked a strange feeling of her getting older and going off to school...and I ADORE it, fear it, dislike it, and smile at it, all at the same time, if that even makes sense? I don't know...just funny to me how a stamped image can bring forth so much emotion to the surface...but then again, I know I'm not alone in this, right?
Well, as I write this we are enjoying a MUCH anticipated Disney vacation so I'll be in and out this week-but thanks for stopping by to see this AWESOME sketch by my good friend:

How adorable, Jess! Very cute image! I totally agree with you, kids grow so fast! Where does the time go??!!! It seems only yesterday I had my babies!
Darling image and card. Just LOVE the quote. I agree with you fully about kids growing up waaaay too quickly!! When they drive me nuts I just remind myself that they will be gone before I know it and I treasure many things in my heart. The unsolicited "I love you mommy", unabashed hugs, watching them develop, learn and grow and as the quote says, pouring as much love into them as you can.
Such a lovely card! Love the ladybug backpack. :)
What a cute card Jess !!! Make me think about my little son on his bicyle, he grows so quickly !!!
Hugs

Oh, that image is so cute but it just makes me want to cry! I have a pic of my oldest daughter last year on the first day of 8th grade. Its the back of her cause she was just too old for first day of school photos anymore. Yes, they grow too fast. Enjoy Disney with your "babies"!
PS, great card!
So sweet and adorable!
I know exactly what you mean... my 6yo missed the cutoff, so he was able to stay home another year and go to Pre K part time... I cried like a baby when he marched into school for his first day of Kindergarten! LOL! but I still have my lil guy, who will start PreK this fall, sniff sniff...
Hope you're having a blast at Disney! hugs, margie

Love the card, Jess! It reminds me of my daughter. I know what you mean about the kids growing up; it's bittersweet. My one and only lives on the opposite coast and it's hard not being where she is but we are constanly on the phone or texting or skyping and we both fly several times a year! Thanks for all your great inspiration!
You are so right about this image Jess...It does pull at the heart strings... When my eldest started school when he was 6 (he started late because he is autistic) it was one of the scariest, proudest, and emotional days of my life...I just remember that little bag on the back of his back and the how he looked at me when he took the teacher's hand and I had to go... OMGosh, I am going to cry.. Anywhoo...Absolutely beautiful card honey...Like always! Xx
you know i LOVE this, jess! gorgeous coloring, stitching, papers...everything is perfection! awesome job, sweetie!
Jess, this is just precious!! I love this image!! Gorgeous coloring!!! They do grow up way to fast!! My oldest is 16 and only 2 more years of High School then she will be off to college!! OH, that just freaks me out everytime I think about it!!

What an adorable card, Jess! Love the DP - beautiful!
Awww...I know how you are feeling. My little one turns 4 in May. I'm happy and sad at the same time. And you have gone through this 3 times already...doesn't get any easier does it? Your card is absolutely adorable and colored so perfectly. Love the layout and the papers. {{{hugs}}}
Once again, you amaze me. We are very much alike, feel the same things. All that you expressed here I feel too!!! I have an image that gives me that same feeling, I'll have to share it with you. It is a digi stamp and I told the artist how it made me feel, I think she got it....otherwise she thought I was crazy!!hehe, I don't know!!!
Your card is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
