Am I Dreaming?...

Wahhhhhh, say it CAN'T be the last Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge?!   Well, sadly, it is, but we are going out w/ a very special post and a preview from The Greeting Farm today.

While I am sad to see the MTSC's come to a close, I completely respect Mercy's decision to move forward and am SO blessed to call her my friend forever.  Thankfully we already have our next 'playdate' set up or I'd be going through withdrawls.   Well, it's been a PLEASURE working with the Muses and so with that,  I bring you MTSC106...our final sketch:

Today at The Greeting Farm is also another preview day for our January release!  This set is the CUTEST!  It's called "Little Dreamer".  Ok, seriously?!?!  If this set had been around when my kids were babies, I'd have done a border with it.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the concept and sweetness of this design-DREAM BIG.  LOVE that.  It's what I want for ALL my kids.

That said, I made a "wish box" for us.  I thought it would be cute to write down our dreams/hopes/aspirations and have them tucked safe in a place where we can check in every once in a while and see our hard work and determination paying off as the days/months...even years go by.  Here is our "Wish Box", using LITTLE DREAMER:

 Back of box:

side view/front:

I love this and cannot WAIT to see how it fills up!   Be sure to check out the other DT members posts today, including the Farmers on the TGF Blog AND Team Anya on the Club Anya Blog!  ONE OF US Farmers has a "Little Dreamer" set hidden on our blog today-winner will be announced tomorrow!  Until then...

xoxo.  MUCH. LOVE.  <3

The Little Things...

Hey, everyone!

{{{{ETA: I am SO sorry that my MTSC post is late-I'm not sure what happened but Blogger is being naughty!!!  Oh, and I didn't get to see the Eclipse because it was so cloudy here-I set my alarm for 12:45am, 1:30, and 3:30 am and got up, went outside, scared the pants off of DH and still no luck, LOL...}}}

I am anxiously awaiting the viewing of tonight's Lunar Eclipse and thinking back on 2010 with a good feeling and it really made me think of this quote from Ippity:  "The little things?  THEY AREN'T LITTLE".

That is SO true.  If I had a nickel, even a penny, for every little glance exchanged with one of my kids, every laugh with a friend, every smile with a stranger, I'd be a very rich girl.  But see, that's just it, I FEEL rich...I feel truly blessed.  So, as this year comes to a close, I invite you to look back on your 2010 and cherish all those "big things" that might not seem so big at the time.  I love that we can do that.

As 2010 comes to a close, we are also saying goodbye to the MTSC Challenges, next week being our final sketch.  Above is this week's sketch, MTSC105.   I want to thank Mercy, for having me on this super fun team, but mostly for her friendship and the fact that I found two of my best friends, Mercy and Pam, through stamping.  I love you guys-and although stamping may have brought us together,  we are so much more than that now.   So as our sketches come to a close, I won't be sad...as we all will have a little more time on our hands but a lot of those 'little things' that we know are BIG THINGS to cherish and also to look forward to continuing.

In that spirit, here's my card using IPPITY stamps:

I do have some BRAND NEW IPPITY for sale-check out my current inventory and specials HERE :)

Until later my friends,
xoxo ~

No Two Birds sing the SAME SONG...

I think this quote is SOOOOO super awesome.   Such a great lil' reminder that we are all different and should EMBRACE it-dont'cha think?  I love it.

Well, we are on Snow Day #2 in Nashville-thankfully DH arrived home late last night after a LONG week working and not being able to get back b/c of the weather.  Mommy was going a bit stir-crazy but because I have such AWESOME kids, it really was kind of fun to sleep in, sip hot cocoa, and stamp!  I need to take some pics of the AMAZING artwork these kiddos created over the past few days-awesome stuff :)

For now-here's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch for this week, MTSC104:

My card uses the "Birdie Duet" stamp set from UNITY Stamp Co. .  I stamped the main image in Memento Rich Cocoa and then used some pretty Webster's Pages DP from the new holiday line.   I embellished it with some cute Webster's pages "Sparklers" and this card literally took less than 10 minutes from start to finish-which is FINE by me during this time of year, LOL!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Muses today, including our December Guest Muse,  Stephanie Kraft!

oooh!  and ONE MORE little "ETA" for today's post.... want a little SNEAK PEEK of the new ECHO PARK & UNITY Kit???  Check out this GORGEOUSNESS:

BRAND NEW KITS release on WEDNESDAY....ooh-that's TOMORROW!  ;)

See you soon, everyone!  Hugs!

A little bit about MTSC's and Mojo...and a fun announcement!...

Hey, guys!

I'm back with today's post for Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge...and a little announcement about my "Mojo".  What is this silly word?  Well, we all know it pertains, in the stamping world at least, to our creative juices flowing and well, ok here we go:  MOJO.

mo·jo (mōˈjōˌ)
noun pl. mo·jos or mo·joes
  1. A magic charm or spell.
  2. An amulet, often a small flannel bag containing one or more magic items, worn by adherents of hoodoo or voodoo.
  3. Personal magnetism; charm.

Hmmm, well, alright.  There is DEFINITELY no voodoo or amulet here...in fact, up until this afternoon, there was NO MOJO. ZERO. zilch.

This is the FIRST time this has ever happened to me and I seriously threw myself for a loop. Now, please, don't get me wrong, I do NOT think everything I do is amazing and of course there are times when I like my work better than others.  BUT-this was the FIRST time...that there was just NOTHING when I sat down.  Holy crap!  I seriously sat there for an HOUR-maybe more-until I packed up my desk and went upstairs to bed.

Mind you-my sweet little one was up wheezing the night before last and I literally caught a few winks, that is is.  I've been sick and wheezy myself.  I have family coming in, am worried about a friend that I love so very much and feel bad that I can't help him through more of what he's going through, and of course have all the other 'mommy' duties in full steam right now...so I am not going to beat myself up about having one bad night and DEFINITELY am not looking for any sympathy from the peanut gallery, LOL ;)

I just had to mention it because WOW-it stinks!  When I hear people talk about it, I always feel bad and think to myself, "oh, I hate when that happens"...but the truth is, I really didn't KNOW about how that felt until last night and YIKES-let's hope that's the last of it for a while, haha.

Well, today I have a card using all items (except for the white brads) from the NOVEMBER Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  I really {heart} this DP from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker line and used her CUTE new "What's COOKIN'" stamp set for this card.

I actually made this card coming out of my mini-funk and I am not sure that I like it :(   I feel like it needs something different but here's this week's MTSC sketch:

Well, I got to create some more today and hopefully my "mojo" will be in full-force just in time for a HUGE Unity announcement tomorrow! HUUUUUGE!  Thanks for listening to me RAMBLE...and RAMBLE I have!  Time to check out the rest of the Muses, enough about me, LOL!:

and our wonderful GUEST MUSE, Jodi :)

Big hugs to all my stamping peeps and for the support we all are to each other!

Speaking of which-last but not least, my sweet stamping friend and Twitter-deemed "Twitter BFF" Tiffany Johnson (you might know her as TiffGuam) is making a cross- country move this week and I'm honored to be guest-blogging today on her blog!
Thanks again, everyone!
xoxo

Mercy Turns 100!...

Well, not Mercy herself...and thank God for that because I don't think we'd be able to laugh as hard or as much if that were the case!   HA!  Then again...ya never know...

I'm just teasing...but I'm actually excited to announce that today marks Mercy's 100th Sketch Challenge!  As always, it's a good one:

ETA:  I would like to THANK my good friend Mercy for pointing out to me this morning, as early as she could, that I didnt actually ADD the card into my post, LOL!  Oopsies!  Sorry guys!  it's here now :) hope you like it!

To celebrate, Mercy is giving away a set by The Greeting Farm to a lucky winner this week so in the spirit, I used the new CHEEKY XMAS on my card today.   I think she is so adorable and LOVE to color her Santa hat!  Here's my card for this week's sketch, using some fun Echo Park paper:

Be sure to stop by Mercy's blog to CONGRATULATE her on this milestone accomplishment and to check out the details for this week's challenge!  And don't forget to stop by the rest of the Muses today, too, including our AWESOME November guest muse and my sweet friend, Jodi Collins!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet & Simple Blessings...

...you know it's a GOOD life when you can think of 100 of these-sweet and simple blessings, right off the top of your head!  I definitely can, and yesterday was a good day to reflect on that, especially after my awesome weekend w/ two of my besties, Mercy and Pammy :)  We had the best time-it's SO easy with them-the laughs come as easily as the good times, good movies, good FOOD, haha.  Everything is just fun and easy w/ these girls and every time I don't think it's possible to laugh as hard as the last time-well-something happens and proves me wrong, LOL.   Yesterday I was so happy to see the kids and DH and we just kind of hung out as a family and that, too,  always makes me smile and remember the SIMPLE blessings of this life.

Speaking of which, I hope you're enjoying my 30 days of Gratitude/Thanksgiving on my Facebook page :)  I definitely won't be able to squeeze all the "sweet and simple' blessings into a 30 day span...but I'm really happy to be given the chance to tell ANYONE I'm grateful for them.  They deserve to hear that and it feels good :)

Well, onto what you came for, right?  LOL.   Today is Tuesday and we have another fab sketch from Mercy:

I used the adorable "Gobble Gobble" set by Taylored Expressions and really enjoy creating with this October Key Ingredients kit.   I really love this shade of blue that Taylor picked out to coincide with the cute patterned papers!

I did a fun double crooked stitch around the base of my card and colored Cuppie and all his yummy Thanksgiving trimmings in w/ my Copics :)  Other than that, EVERYTHING on this card came with my October Key Ingredients, right down to that fun button :)   Are you subscribed to Taylor's AWESOME Key Ingredients club?   You can find all the information, including some fun member-only perks, HERE :)

Well, the rest of our Muses have some wonderful eye candy for you today, including our sweet guest muse, Jodi Collins:

Thanks for coming by today-I am always grateful for that as well!  Whatever you do today-I hope it's a great one, full of sweet and simple BLESSINGS :)

Hello, hello!

{{{PLEASE scroll down for a little sneak peek of a UNITY project that I am a bit (ok a LOT) giddy about!  I'm being featured on the UNITY Blog today and would LOVE it if you guys stopped by-thanks so much!}}}

Well, you guys know I've been "Fallin'" for Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge for SOME time now :)  In fact, I realized that I've been a member of Mercy's sketch team for well over a year now-can you believe it?  My how time flies when you're havin FUN!

This week's MTSC is no exception to that 'fun'-check out this AWESOME sketch:

I couldn't wait to pull out my October Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions to make my card today!  I just love the colors and spice of this perfect Fall kit and I used the adorable new "Gobble Gobble" set to stamp these cute pumpkins off onto Taylor's choice Buttercream Cardstock.  This paper is SO awesome for coloring w/ Copics.  I love it!

Are you a member of the Key Ingredients kit club?  Not only is it a GREAT deal each month (you can make sooo many cards from one kit and still have leftovers when you're done!), Taylor hand-picks all of her papers, ribbons, and cardstocks to create a wonderful themed kit each month that takes the guesswork out of putting your cards and papers together!  The Key Ingredients kit is perfect to make 3D and altered items too!  Be sure to check out all the details on how to sign up HERE, and enjoy special perks like our members-only gallery where you can view TONS of inspiration from the Key Ingredients Design Team :)   Last but not least, did you SEE the sneak peek at Taylored Expressions yesterday?  There are some pretty ADORABLE new stamp sets coming out-I cannot wait to see the full reveals and place my order!  Woo hoo!

Thanks so much for hanging with me today for my lil' pumpkin patch and for another installment of Mercy's Tuesday sketches!  Be sure to check out the rest of the Muses and speaking of Taylored Expressions, we are welcoming one of the Baker's Dozen and a wonderful friend of mine JODI COLLINS as our November Guest Muse!  Welcome, sweet girl!  We are SO excited to be playing with you this month!  Also, be sure to visit:

Thanks and see you soon, peeps!  If you have some spare time today, I have another card below featuring Unity and another card that is exclusively featured over on the Unity Blog.  It's my DT Tuesday today-exciting!  hope to see you there!  Thank you for your AMAZING support!  xoxo

I've got a PLAYDATE w/ Unity and the MTSC!...

Hey everyone!

I'm SUPER excited about today's post because I've been waiting to play along with the Playdate Cafe's 1 year anniversary challenge featuring UNITY Stamp Co!  Unity is sponsoring the PDCC and their HUGE week-long celebration and we're sure honored to be their favorite!   I am new to the Playdate Cafe but will definitely be back to play along!

Here's this week's Challenge:

My card today features all these yummy colors and I'm a TAD bit giddy about my first "Fan-fold" flower embellie.  Can you say CUTE embellishment and it's probably the cheapest one around!  It took no more than a 3/4 in. strip of 12x12 DP and a button-are ya kidding?  SUPER easy following Beate's fabulous tute HERE.

The sentiment is from the October Kit of the Month from UNITY stamps...you are LOVED.   I'd like to dedicate this card to anyone who could use the hug today, including someone special that I'm thinking about who doesn't know how loved they are.  My heartfelt sentiment is as sunny and sincere as this color combo and it's a GREAT day to tell someone you love them, too!  <3

I followed this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge for this card-it's a FABULOUS one!  Here's the sketch:

Be sure to check out the rest of the Muses this week to see what they have for you, including our AWESOME Oct. Guest Muse, Heather:

Last but not least, be sure to check out my girl Jimmi, also on the Unity DT, as she is playing along w/ the PlayDate Cafe today too and I'm sure has something BEAUTIFUL for you to look at!

Thanks everyone!  See you tomorrow!

I TELL YA Tuesday...

Hello lovies...how I've missed catching up on your blogs and pages and I will DEFINITELY be slowing down a bit mid week to catch up w/ y'all...things have been NUTS here this weekend and yesterday w/ it being our first day back to school...I TELL YA!

Funny story-my son actually tried to hide my alarm clock the night before last so that we wouldn't HAVE to get up and go to school today-I thought that was quite resourceful of him but yeah...didn't work, LOL.   My baby girl had separation issues at Pre-K yesterday which pretty much broke my heart.  She didn't even cry on her 1st day, but for some reason, after all that togetherness over the past two weeks and all the family time we shared, I think she was feeling the loss that we all were this morning when the clock struck 6am :) Oh well-that can only tell me that we had a GREAT time during Fall Break, right?

In fact, you guys might not know this but I basically pre-posted everything I've created in the past two weeks or so.  My stamps haven't seen daylight in TWO weeks!   So, I was pretty excited to crack them back out of the darkness of my desk and get to crackin' on Mercy's Tuesday sketch this week:

LOVE this one.   I knew exactly which stamp from UNITY Stamp Co. that I wanted to use, too!  It's actually a store kit stamp (sold by many of Unity's AWESOME retailers including my friend Claudia at DieCutsRUs).  If you haven't visited Unity's website lately, GO!  Check out the NEW and AWESOME site that Angela had put together-it's amazing and SO user-friendly!  I love it!

This stamp was the perfect size for the main image panel and paired with some awesome "County Fair" DP from Fancy Pants, I really like the soft look of this and also the AWESOME quote-which really speaks to me today, actually ;)

"May you have the HINDSIGHT to know where you've been, the FORESIGHT to know whe're you're going, and the INSIGHT to know when you've gone too far..."   LOVE that!

Be sure to check out the rest of Mercy's Muses and see what they've been up to for this week's awesome challenge, including the wonderful Heather Pulverenti, our October Guest Muse!

I'll see you back here in a while...LOVE that you guys keep on coming by and supporting me and definitely need it this week more than ever as I feel like I almost have to "reacquaint" myself w/ my supplies, LOL!   Thanks for being there- Mahalo! :)

Look what I baked for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch...

 Hey everyone!

It's time for another fun week of creating with my good friend Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge, and this week's sketch was definitely a fave of mine to work with!  Here's MTSC95:

I couldn't wait to use my Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions again, featuring the GORGEOUS "Restoration" line by Crate Paper.   I was so busy altering some super fun household items I had laying around that I forgot what a beautiful line this is for cardmaking, too.   Here's what I came up with, using one of my favorite Taylored Expressions stamp sets, "Berries and Cherries":

Isn't it sweet?  I just love how all the paper really plays off of the gorgeous crinkle ribbon and cardstock colors in this kit-in fact, EVERYTHING I used (sans the little button-but I think we all have a thousand of those lying around ;) is from the September Key Ingredients kit, which you can sign up for HERE!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Muses this week including our special October guest, Heather Pulverenti!
So what have you all been up to this week?   Sorry I've been keeping my posts short and sweet-I'm just trying to soak up this week and really can't wait to share all that I've seen and learned :)  What an AMAZING journey this life is, isn't it?  I only hope your week has started off with as much JOY as mine has and in honor of Columbus's discoveries which we celebrated yesterday, I leave you with some thoughts:

"You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.  What you'll discover will be wonderful.  What you'll discover is yourself.  ~Alan Alda

Be the Change...

"Be the CHANGE you wish to see in the WORLD..."  ~Gandhi

...would you know this is the FIRST Unity Stamp I ever owned?  Well clearly it's a good one!   I adore this saying and it's so very true, as we definitely have to BE the change we wish to see, often.

Today happens to be Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge and before I begin, just wanted to send a quick shout out to our fellow Muse Pam Speidel as she has decided to move on.  We'll miss you Pam-and I have to tell you I NEVER would have sewn on a card had it not been for your beautiful inspiration AND encouragement.  Yeah-think back to that...ME?  not sew on a card???   This is what I'm saying.  Pam just helped me make it so :)

Well here's today's sketch:

And here is my card, featuring this fabulous Unity Stamp and some fun DP from October Afternoon.

Be sure to check out the rest of our fabulous Muses today, too:

A special welcome to our October Guest Muse, Heather Pulvirenti!   Heather is amazing and I've been a LONG time fan of her work, so I'm super stoked to get to work w/ her this month!  Welcome, chick!  You're amongst a fun group and some awesome weekly followers of the sketch too!  We will have a blast !

I want to tell you all that I got a bunch of emails last week regarding my post about change and a few thank you's regarding it-and all I can say is, thanks :)  I'm very moved by the fact that I can inspire ANYONE, let alone a few at a time, LOL.  No, but seriously, my blog has become almost as much about writing as it is about the paper crafting and if I can encourage ONE person-then I'm a happy girl :)  SO thank YOU for reading, commenting, all the beautiful private emails I get, and just thanks for being YOU :)  YOU are the change we wish to see in the world-a LOT of you are :)

Have a wonderful Tuesday and I'll see you back here soon :)
xoxo

BLAZIN' by on a Broomstick for MTSC...

Hey all!

As promised I'm back with another preview of the new Halloween Digis from The Greeting Farm, all of which will be released tomorrow, the 15th!

Today' I'm using this SUPER adorable witch (I think she's my fave of the new digis, to be honest) and decided to go hard-core with the green skin and purple hair.  As bad-a#@ as she looks, she's still just too darn cute, RIGHT?   I can't wait for her to be released tomorrow along with the SPOOKTACULAR lineup she's being released with!

Today's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge was perfect to showcase this little cutie:

I used some more Matilda paper from Cosmo Cricket and colored her up using my Copics-LOVE my C-greys.  They are such a great go-to color for dark greys and black shading.   I am going to need refills for them soon!

Don't forget to check out not only the Muses today:
But also, the rest of the TGF Farmers as THEY are previewing some fang-tastic new digis today too on the TGF Blog:

See you back here tomorrow for a VERY exciting post...but actually, I have a HUGE announcement right here at 10am CST...you can find out what I'll be posting tomorrow then :)  I've been holding this in for SO long I might explode!!!!

Love to all- xoxo,

MTSC Miracle...

Hey peeps!

LITTLE slow on the uptake this morning-sorry I'm late w/ my post for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge!  Wasn't feeling too well last night and had a baby doll boy who had a LITTLE too much fun swimming yesterday and had a very bad earache last night :(   Whew!  This weekend, although long, really FLEW!

Anyway, how are all of you?  It's time for another installment of my sweet friend Mercy's sketch challenge-here's MTSC90:

I used one of my FAVORITE {Ippity} sets, "Delightful Little Things".  It's a sentiment/quote set-I know you're shocked, LOL!

One of my closest friends has a friend who is going through a very hard time right now and I made this card to send to her.  I LOVE the sentiment:  "Be Realistic:  Plan for a Miracle".  That is so uplifting and positive, don't you think?  I just adore it.

I used some October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper and Distress ink in Antique Linen.   So, it occurs to me that I'm REALLY bad about writing about WHAT I use to make my cards.  I get so wrapped up in rambling and I know you guys like that, but would you like MORE info on my cards?  Should I go back to doing "recipes?"    Let me know-I can't wait to hear from you!

For now, be sure to visit my fellow Muses:

And a BIG fuzzy welcome to Lori Tecler, our September Guest Muse!

I'll see you all very soon-big HUGS to all of you out there!

Show me the Stars...

Hey everyone!

I'm back with another MTSC that of course, I adore.  I was just telling Mercy this weekend that her sketches really are some of my faves.  Lots of them, in fact!   What a fun team to be on, esp with friends who I adore and SO much talent!

Here is this week's MTSC:

I used one of my very most favorite {Ippity} sets, "Delightful Little Things" to create my card for today. I got this crocheted flower from a kit and it was SO bright I always wondered what I would do w it and well, today was the day!  I LOVE the DeLovely line from Cosmo Cricket and this really finished off my card, dont' you think?

What are you guys all up to this week?  We hope you'll play along with us!  Be sure to visit the other muses today, too:
Last but not least, a sweet farewell to our AWESOME August Guest Muse, Angela Thomas!  Thanks for all of your beautiful samples this month, Angela!  Was so fun working with you!

Well, tomorrow is the 1st and I am SOOO excited about our Greeting Farm release and DT blog hop!  Be back for that first thing in the morning!

Hugs!
