Something's Swirlin' around WONDERLAND...

CHAPTER 15: New ideas are SWIRLING...doors are opening...all in our little WONDERLAND...

"It's no use talking about it," Alice said, looking up at the house and pretending it was arguing with her. `I'm not going in again yet. I know I should have to get through the Looking-glass again -- back into the old room -- and there'd be an end of all my adventures!'

So, resolutely turning back upon the house, she set out once more down the path, determined to keep straight on till she got to the hill. For a few minutes all went on well, and she was just saying, `I really shall do it this time -- ' when the path gave a sudden twist and shook itself (as she described it afterwards), and the next moment she found herself actually walking in at the door..."

Hello everyone! We are so excited today as we enter a new door at Oh, Alice! There are always twists and turns down Alice's path, and with that, we have some good news, even some sad news, but we are all looking forward to our next Chapter here in WONDERLAND!

Hip Hoppin' with DONNA DOWNEY stamps!...

Ohhhhhhhhh, my friends!  WARNING:  LONG, EXCITED post, LOL!

Seriously! I have been looking forward to this post for SOME time.  A few weeks ago, we got word that a few new Unity goodies were on the way to the DT.

Much to my excitement, I opened the box and SQUEALED, of course....LOVE Donna DOWNEY!  Not only did I get to experience that excitment, but now, today, YOU DO!  TODAY there are THREE NEW RELEASES at UNITY!

That means I have THREE projects for you today.  WOO HOO!   The first one might be my fave.  Have you ever heard the saying (I'm sure you have ;) "One man's trash is another man's treasure?"  Well, it turns out that today, MY TRASH was MY TREASURE!   A few days ago one of my little angels came careening through my stamp room and accidentally knocked down a picture frame.  The glass broke, and even the frame cracked in the corner.   I picked it up and set it on the top of the shelf so I could deal w/ it later and no one would get hurt.

Well, yesterday as I was brainstorming what to do with one of the AMAZING new stamps, I noticed I hadn't yet thrown it out so I went and grabbed it and was just about to throw it in the garbage, when WHAMMO!  IDEA!   Here is the finished product:

What do you guys think?   I used a brand new Donna Downey single "TRUST", and added a chipboard element from Melody Ross's Homespun collection, using my new Chip Art tool, also by Melody, to bang out the word "HEART".  You like?  I LOVED creating this.   The DP is by Webster's Pages, flowers by Prima.  LOVE accidents!

My next project uses a new Wood-mounted Slide stamp.  It's a single flower called "Delicate Flower".  GORGEOUS.   Just look at how BIG and BEAUTIFUL this wooden stamp is:

Isn't it pretty?  You can use it with or without the UNITY HANDLES and let me tell you, "Trusting your Heart" and being a "Delicate Flower" were CERTAINLY the themes for me yesterday.   My little baby is starting school in the fall and we registered her for a program that I have since become unsure about.  So today we went and looked at a different school and they were so nice and caring and concerned toward us.  Anyway, GOD IS GOOD.  REALLY GOOD.  I'll just leave it at that for now until I'm sure what's to come :)  Here's my card using the "Delicate Flower" stamp:

What's that AWESOME sentiment on the card, you ask?   That's the THIRD set being released today!  A FULL set of stamps called "She Said".  This is one of my FAVORITE sets to date.  LOVE the sentiments, it's almost as if they were written for me!  Well, at least I feel that way ;)  That's all that counts, right?

I used more pretties from Webster's Pages, the DP and trims are both from there.   Are you exhausted from my ramblings yet???   Hope not; I'm just SOOOO so excited!

So now what?  What's next you ask?  Well, if you've already checked out the UNITY BLOG, head over to my girl Jimmi's blog next for some more Donna Downey-inspired beauty!

Next Blog

See you on the SCS thread today?  I'll be there uploading my pics (I am SO WAY behind) and chatting /w you guys!   See ya soon!

Now GO.  DESIGN the LIFE you LOVE.... I DID ;)

All that Glitters...

...is well, usually FABULOUS!

Today is Whimsical Wednesday and another FUN FUN challenge at The Diedrich Dare!   This week, we are finishing up our "Mix it up May" series!  It's been SO much fun having some of our Daredevils' kids as Guest Challengers this month!

The month ends this week with two little guest challengers that mean the world to me-my "Cousin/BFF" Kim's two daughters, Kaeli and Emilie!  Technically they're my 2nd cousins, but they're the same age as my kids so I usually refer to them as my nieces!  They came to visit me a few months ago and we had the BEST time stamping.  The girls LOVE stamping and hanging out w/ me and their mom.  SO cute!

Well, today's challenge is a FABULOUS one indeed!  Along with using stamps from our WONDERFUL sponsor this month (and sooo generous!) Sweet Pea Stamps, the girls want you to "MAKE IT SPARKLE!"   Just use glitter, stickles, glitter pens, make it shimmer and shine!

I used Stickles on my card today on this beautiful stamp: Ching-Chou Kuik's "Fly Butterfly".  This stamp was a gift from my awesome friend, Jen Shults.  In fact, this card is full of RAK's.   That pretty doily is ANOTHER gift ALL THE WAY from AUSTRALIA from my sweet friend Kristy Young.  She sent them all the way from AU w a gorgeous card and some super cute crocheted flowers.  Thanks Kristy!  Kristy has a brand new store opening up, Delicious Papercrafting.  Make sure to check out her blog for all the details!

Be sure to check out The Diedrich Dare blog today where Kim has more info on today's challenge and be sure to check out the rest of the Daredevils:

That's it for me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with some SERIOUS Unity SWEETNESS!  LOTS of surprises, actually!

And next week, OH MY.   Be SURE to tune into The Dare NEXT WEEK as we make a BIG announcement and show details on how YOU could win the BIGGEST PRIZE EVER in Dare history.  Hint:  there are LOTS of companies pitching in for this awesome CHALLENGE!  Don't miss it!

Live, love, laugh, smile, and FLY...
Jessica ;)  xoxo

I'm just HAPPY to be...

Hey guys!

Well, Monday came and went and here I am bloggin' for the first time this week.  Miss me?   LOL  Hope you guys had a WONDERFUL weekend and I'm excited about this week!

TONS of new UNITY, TGF, and an Oh, Alice Guest DT being announced on Saturday....WOW!  It's gonna be a crazy fun week!

Today I got to play with a new digi from Tiddly Inks.   Christy Croll is SUCH a talented artist and I LOVE her work!  She's got some seriously cute rubbah at Stamping Bella and has recently launched TiddlyInks, her own digi blog.  I LOVE her super sweet designs!

Today's Tuesday, and time for another one of Mercy's amazing sketches for this week:

I got to use this adorable "Curly Q", Bloom Q, for today's MTSC Sketch.  Isn't she just HAPPY to be?   Nothin' to do, nowhere to be at the moment...just HAPPY to be :)  LOVE that ;)

Be sure to check out the MUSES this week and our fabulous Guest Muse, TORICO:

Thats all for me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with a Daring new Sweet Pea image!  Have a FANTASTIC Tuesday, friends!

Oh, Alice has a CURIOUS announcement!...

CHAPTER 14: Gettin' Sketchy in the Golden Afternoon...

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips,
and the sun is like a toy balloon.
There are get up in the morning glories,
in the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside,
strings of violets are all in tune,
Tiger lilies love the dandy lions,
in the golden afternoon,
the golden afternoon.
There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede,
where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead... "

Hey everyone!

We have a wonderful Sketch for you today designed by our own Jen Shults!   Here's her awesome design:

Our sketch comes w/ just a small twist this week....

Ok, its HUGE!

ONE PLAYER will be chosen this week based on all of the entries (and we know it's going to be TOUGH!!!) to be our JUNE GUEST TEA PARTY MEMBER for Oh, Alice!   That's right!   The DT will be feverishly going through your creations to choose next month's Guest DT, so if you've been wanting to come and be our Guest at our totally TWISTED Tea Party, now is your chance!

Need some inspiration to get ya going?  Check out the samples from our TOTALLY TWISTED Tea Party at the OH, ALICE blog!  Here's my card, using some fun Webster's Pages items, a TON of Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist,  and I had to try out my new ChipArt tools by Melody Ross!

We will leave this contest open until THURSDAY May 26th at 11:59 PM CST (please notice the earlier time limit this week just so we can have time to go over entries, contact the winner, and announce them by our next Challenge on the 28th!) to enter your creation.    A preliminary note to all-since we know this is going to be a VERY hard decision, please do not be discouraged if your creation isn't chosen as we have plenty of opportunities coming up each month and have tons of fun up our sleeves!  We are so thrilled that the blog is going strong and cant wait to see what's next for Oh, Alice!

Please don't forget to use keyword OAC14 if you use a public gallery, thanks!

GOOD LUCK everyone!

On another note,  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dad.  I love you.  You are the greatest father, friend, grandfather, and the kindest and most easy-going soul I have ever known.   I love you and can't wait til you get back from your trip so I can tell you in person.   xoxo

Farm Fresh and Boldly Bright...

Hello my friends,

Sorry I'm late today-have been dealing w/ a little bit of oh, what they call a two-day headache :(  It's been raining SO much here-JUST what Nashville DOES NOT need!   I think my sinuses are in overdrive!   Oh well, these bright colors thankfully didn't add to things, LOL!

I LOVE the new ROLL CALL kit from The Greeting Farm, can I just tell ya??  TEN sprouts, PLUS sentiments, for $48!?!?   You really can't beat it.  I know it's a lot up front, but the cost of this kit would be well over $90 if you base it on the usual cost of the Sprouts, at $8 a piece plus the cute, cute phrases to go along w/ it!  I think they're SO super cute, and for your die-hard Twi-fans out  there, there are some former digis now in RUBBAH!   Hooray!

The ROLL CALL kit comes on a full sheet of uncut red rubber mounted on cling and oh boy is it fun and gratifying to cut them out, slap 'em on blocks, and get to some serious stamping!

I used MARIA today for our Farm Fresh Friday sketch by our Friendly Farmer, Mary Giles:

I have been hoarding this My Mind's Eye glittery DP for a while now, in fact I got it way back when AMBER (who is now Critter Crew!  YAY!) was visiting from Okinawa.   She MADE me buy it, haha ;)   It's pretty right?  Maria is too cute, LOVE her droopy little eyes and those cute flowers in her hair. SUPER fun to color!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Farmers:

and our Critter Crew today:

That's all for today, again, sorry I'm late, and see you in WONDERLAND tomorrow for a VERY exciting announcement!!!!

I did it ANYWAY...

Hey everybody!

{{{Thanks so much for scrolling down to see my TGF Scrapbooking challenge and, well, I gotta say a pretty cute pic of my twin boys ;) }}}

HIP HOP!   I have been soooooo anxious for today's post because I have been CHOMPING at the BIT to use the new "BRAVE GIRL" Scrapbooking Kit from UNITY!    BRAVE GIRL.   I discovered Melody Ross's website after the UNITY DT got an early preview of this AMAZING new kit.   Yeah, I said it.

AMAZING.

Turns out that our very own Angela just returned from Brave Girl camp and I can't wait to hear her stories!  I really hope to go one day w/ my daughter.   I think self esteem, confidence, and being BRAVE are the three most important things a woman can aspire to have for HERSELF and even more importantly, her CHILDREN.   As soon as I saw this kit and read Melody's words I was SO INSPIRED.

And now, I've got the rubbah in my hot little hands and here's what I did with it so far:

We have a pretty nifty sketch for you today by Maria again, one of our Ippity sistas.   It's a really cool one:

...and I have to admit, I was a little intimidated w/ this one...but I DID IT ANYWAY. ;)  This stamp kind of makes me think not only of the famous women in history, but a little bit about myself too.

I was just thinking about how a bunch of people thought we were nuts to listen to our heart and make the decision to move our family to Tennessee.  All in 5 weeks from start to finish.

I DID IT ANYWAY.

I'm sure I could think of a ton more examples, but as I have never been more proud to be a resident of Nashville especially after the powerful example of how this city has really pulled together after the flood, it's the one that stands out the most in my mind.

I hope you guys will join us over on our SCS Forum today for fun, chit-chat, prizes, all KINDS of stuff!  We are gonna HIP HOP, cuz it's Thursday, cuz it's FUN, cuz we're UNITY, peeps!   I hope you'll get over there and see what's goin' on!

For now, head over to the fabulous Jimmi's blog to see what she has in store for you:

Last but not least, remember this:

"Courage doesn't always roar.  Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow."  ~Mary Anne Radmacher

These are a few of my FAVORITE things...

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a wonderful Thursday!  I feel like my days are getting shorter, I swear.  At the same time, I also feel like they're getting better.  We've just been so busy but really enjoying life as we know it here in our little corner of the world.

I'm SO proud of my boys.  This past week they were in their little First Grade play, a version of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Ugly Duckling".  They played two of the 'cuter" ducklings, LOL!  Of COURSE they did!  Just look at these guys!  Gosh I adore them and all their boy-ness, michief, and giggles.  SO MANY giggles.  You can hear it from anywhere you are in the house (even Mercy and Pam got to witness it last time I visited them and they both burst out into laughter.  It's contagious!  Mischievous at times, but TOTALLY contagious, all the same ;)

Today at The Greeting Farm we have a Scrapbook Challenge to "BUTTON IT".   So that's just what I did w/ these SUPER fun "vintage buttons" by Melody Ross.  They are so bold, bright, and fun, just like my boys.

Enjoy your day and ENJOY your favorite things!

Live, Love, Laugh, and Smile,
Jessica :) xoxo

Pretty Pirate...and a DOUBLE DARE?!?!

Hey everyone!

Today we are celebrating "Whimsical Wednesday" at the Diedrich Dare with a DOUBLE-TAKE!

Our fellow DT Daredevil Heather has her two girls, Willow and Piper joining us today as Guest Designers....SKETCH designers, that is!

Here are the two sketches you can choose from:

We are still celebrating the AMAZINGLY generous sponsor this month of the DIEDRICH DARE, Sweet Pea Stamps!  Have you guys tried using them yet?  I have to say that I was a little intimidated to color them at first, and I'm only telling you this because I really didn't HAVE to be!   I ADORE the beautiful, whimsical designs, and the awesome quality of the deeply etched red rubber that Lynette manufactures.  The stamps are nice and large too which I LOVE.

I used Willow's sketch today.   Willow, I didn't quite do the "heart" shape but hey, I got the ribbon, flower, and ribbon down pat!  I actually REALLY like how my card came out despite being a little stumped at first w/ this one!   Do you like it Willow?  I HOPE SO!!!

I used the beautiful "Unregrettable Pirate Life", illustrated by Ching-Chou Kuik.   This card is dedicated to my girl, Randi, the Dark Mermaid herself :) TOTALLY reminds me of her!   Love ya, girlie!  Thanks for putting this all together for the DARE!

Be sure to head over to the DARE blog to see more about this DOUBLE DARE issued this week by Piper and Willow and check out the lovely and talented ladies that ARE the Diedrich Daredevils:

See you tomorrow for some HIP HOPPIN' good times!

I'm back...with a BLAST from the PAST!...

Hey everybody!

I missed you as I took a few days off from bloggin' this past weekend.   We've had a lot going on and I just kind of needed a breather.    I'm back today though, feeling rejuvenated and AWESOME and oh, so excited about today's post!

Today is not only another FABulous edition of Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge, but also happens to be:

The TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS "Blast from the Past" BLOG HOP!

I'm so excited to be a part of it today!

We have a ton of fun ideas using some of Taylor's awesome stamp sets that were released in 2008 and 2009!   I used my absolute FAVORITE TE set of all time, "Fresh Flowers" to create my card today.

I used (quite liberally, I might add, LOL) Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for this week, MTSC74:

Be sure to check out the Muses today -links on my sidebar :)

Today for Taylor's "Blast from the Past" blog hop, we have a fun, optional sketch designed by the AMAZING Bakers Dozen member and my sweet friend, Sankari Wegman!  I didn't use the sketch today, but it's a GREAT one and I'll be using it for sure in the future!  Here it is:

We have a lot more fun in store for you so don't forget to check out the rest of the hop and see the AWESOME inspiration along the way! Here's who else is enjoying a little BLAST from the PAST:

Thanks again for hoppin' with us today and remember something about the "past"...

"What you need to know about the PAST is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very MOMENT.  And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new.  Right now.  ~Author Unknown

I LOVE that....

CHAPTER 13: Mushroom Inspiration...

"Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?''

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

Good day, everyone!  Thankfully I got this card and post done before my computer issues!   It's definitely a WONDERLAND kind of day around here!

Today we have a fabulous inspiration piece for you at the OH, ALICE Challenge blog and are SO excited to get to this week's challenge.  Here is your inspiration photo for this week's challenge:
