Thankful for Unity, Family, and a funny story...

HIP HOP peeps!

I'm always so excited for Thursday because I get to hang out with my Unity peeps and enjoy all the fun of Hip Hop, our weekly Blog Hop!  We decided to spice things up a bit a few weeks ago by bringing you themes, and incorporating those themes w/ challenges for you too!

This week, our theme is Thanksgiving Table decor and I'm excited to share a few things w/ you as well as a funny story.

I started out gathering a few items that can be used for table decor-2 candles, placecards, 2 wine glasses, and put them into a gift basket that I'll give to my Mom on Thanksgiving day with some fruity decorations and a frame with a little something I wrote for her and my Dad.

Here's a close up of the frame:

I used the "Thankful" sentiment from the September Kit of the Month for the frame as well as the "Give Thanks" sentiment for the candles from that same kit.

And now here's a close up of the candles and place cards (using stamp from Soirees and Such).  WHOA.  Jessica has lost it? No.  Jessica has 4 people named Bobby in the family?  Ha, NO.  This is where the funny, kinda heartwarming story comes in.

My sister's boyfriend Bobby has been coming to family functions now for several years and the kids absolutely LOVE him.  Him and my sister are both very involved in their lives and call the boys after every basketball game, my older one just to say hi, and the little one although she rarely sees them is just infatuated with him.  He does magic tricks with them and gets them all riled up whenever he's here.

Poor Suzy (my sister) would have gotten a complex over the last few years if it didn't make her so happy that he was so involved with them-WHY a complex you ask? Well, because for the past few years whenever my Mom does place cards, the kids all try to steal Bobby's place card and put it next to them.  We are all chopped liver when Bobby is around, LOL!!!

So this year, the kids and I are going to play an even bigger trick on Bobby-little does he know it yet, he has FOUR place cards!  So when Bobby and Suz come in for Thanksgiving, everyone is in for a special treat, haha ;)  What do you guys think of my little idea? ( hee hee I happen to love it, if you cant tell :D)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my projects and hope that you'll join me for some chit chat on our SCS Forum today!  I will be in and out and have a prize to give away over there, too :)  I cannot WAIT for you to see the rest of the DT's projects, so head over to visit my friend JIMMI next:

See you tomorrow, everyone!  And thanks for visiting my Facebook page for all my FB friends out there as my '30 Days of Thanksgiving" continues.   We have SO much to be thankful for!
