SWEET Summer...

Jessica here with a fun summer treat for you- and a SUPER easy one at that!   I'm also being featured on the TWINERY BLOG today and it's also Mystery Monday on the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog so please head on over to say hello there, too!  Thanks!

A few weeks ago, THIS card by Sarah Milbourn caught my eye and I thought the lollipops were SO adorable I knew just what I wanted to create.   I'm sure there are a lot of FUN lollipop projects with Twine out there that I haven't even seen yet, but all I know is I was SUPER anxious to get started on a project of my own!  Just in time for a "SWEET" summer, indeed!

It also brings back SWEET memories.  Every year, we'd go on our one family vacation up to Door County, WI to stay at my Grandma's house- usually for about two weeks at a time.   Maybe once a week, my Dad would take us to "The Yum-Yum Tree", a local ice cream and candy shoppe in town.    It was always SUPER difficult to decide if I wanted Bubble Gum or Butter Brickle ice cream or if I wanted a giant lollipop soooo similar to the one on my card today!  Ahhh, sweet memories.  Love my Dad and so enjoyed celebrating him on Father's Day yesterday!

Ok!  So, after stamping and coloring my LOLLI ANYA (who is sadly discontinued, sorry guys!) from The Greeting Farm, I applied some HELMAR 450 Quick Dry onto the lollipop.  This was even easier for me than making hand-designed ones because I had the image as a 'template' of sorts to follow!  Fun!   Here's the image about half way covered with Twine.  I used Pink Sorbet Baker's Twine from The Twinery!

I also snuck in some Blossom twine between my two different types of designer paper behind my flower.  Normally I would think to use ribbon but the twine REALLY gives it a cute and simple look, don't you think?  I like that it doesn't 'take away' from my focal point either.

Here's my finished product, good enough to eat!  My layout is taken from today's MYSTERY MONDAY CASE challenge on the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog, so be sure to check out the links of my teammates too- links on my left sidebar and MAN are these girls talented!!!!
Last but not least, if you didn't catch the Father's Day slideshow for my Dad or some of my favorite childhood memories listed, please visit my personal blog, Yeah She Blogs!  I'm gearing up for a FUN SUMMER GIVEAWAY there too- give me a bit to get it together!  Thanks SO much for stopping by today!!!
