Move Over, Mojo...there's a NEW sketch challenge in town!

Ha ha just kidding...the title of this post was TOTALLY in fun, as I will NEVER stop doing Mojo Monday...cuz I love it! Hugs Julee! LOL. I just really liked saying "Move over, Mojo" because I'm a dork...

...BUT, I'm a dork with some VERY special news... I am trying to start a group of stampers who'd like to participate in something very fun...but first, I want to give you some background on how this came to be born.

So, last night, I was working on project, and my DD who is 8 was doodling in her notebook like she often does. That girl is amazingly creative and imaginative. She reads a TON, writes her own stories, and loves to draw. This is par for the course after dinner in our house. I stamp, she hangs with me until bedtime.

Last night, though, out of the clear blue (ok, grey) sky, she goes "Mom, what do you think of this?" I looked up, and to my total surprise, I see this:

HOW STINKIN' CUTE IS THAT??? She drew her own sketch, and goes "look Mom, it's like your Mojo Monday you always like to do. Is it good?"

IS IT GOOD??? Are you kidding me? The girl is amazing. I, of course, have been running on no sleep, and get emotional with EVERYTHING the kids do anyway, so I got teary-eyed. She knows that's a GOOD thing though...a VERY good thing.

So, I present to you, my darling daughter's very first hand-drawn and absolutely adorable Sketch Challenge. We are going to call it "Madelynn's Terrific Tuesdays". Since Monday is already Mojo-licious and Wednesdays seem to be a big Design Team day, I thought Tuesdays would be perfect...you?

Here's my take on the sketch:

My Wonderland set from Pink Poison (aka The Greeting Farm 1/o9) JUST arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to ink it up...and YES! That is a smoking caterpillar! I SOOO wanted to write out "whhhooooooo are youuuuu' on the card but I went w/ the cute Hello sentiment for now... Isn't this set the greatest? You NEED it! I know you do!

Well, thanks for reading today and please, if you have time, she'd be absolutely tickled to see your cards. Please include a link on your blog or UL to PCP or SCS using Keyword MTTSC1. Thanks!!!

I am looking to get a "featured stamper" group together for weekly samples and will feature your cards here on my blog if you're interested. Let me know if you are up to the challenge...it will be fun! DD already has plans for next week!!! Isn't that fabulous?

Thanks again and big hugs,
Jess :)

I'd love to help with your featured stampers if you like my work.
I think it would be cool if I could get my son, who loves to stamp, who's 7 to make a card with this sketch too.
Way cool!
And I love your card! Too cute!

What a great sketch, she has certainly had a wonderful teacher. I have a suggestion for you. I can't remember if you already do this for your own sketches, but for your DD's it would be very helpful to have the keyword written on the sketch. I am only able to save the image (I can't add a file name or edit it to add the keyword) on my iPhone so when I go through my saved photos, I don't know what keyword to upload it with. I'm sure I'm not the only one who saves sketches as photos on their computer! I wish my (almost) 8 year old would hang out with me while I craft!

Your DD must have inherited some of your talent! Does this mean we have a week to submit a card based on her sketch - inquiring minds want to know.

I missed the bit about becoming a featured stamper when I left my last comment! If you mean for sketches, I'd love to! If it is for a certain stamp company I'd still be happy to but I'd have to get some first! Hope the little man feels better soon!

Hi Jessica,

I am back again, I enjoyed your blog so much earlier, and I just had to come back and read further back in your posts!!!

You know when you find a blog you just connect with and you want to see more??? Well I just had to come find more!!!

I just love this idea of your's and Madelynn's and it is soooo cool she has you to foster her creativity!!!

I just love that!!!

How old are your kiddo's???

I just read a post about your son having surgery!!! I totally know how you felt. I am an RN I do not work much mostly just stay home with the kiddo's, but I worked in Surgery for 9 years and Labor and Delivery for 3. I hated taking those kiddo's back even for small proceedures from their parents!!!

They always did well, but I hated seeing the parents looks when we had to take them!!!!

I am glad all went well though!

And I just have to tell you and Madelynn congratulations again for creating this wonderful Sketch Challenge and picking such a super fun group of ladies to be on your team!!!! Yea You!!!!!

I am glad I found your blog Jessica you seem like a totally awesome person!!!

Heather

Oh P.S. I love love love that set you used for Madelynn's first sketch it is soooooooo coool!!
