Good Morning, Prettie Peeps!
How are you all this Wednesday morning? Ugh we are a bunch of sickies...not fun. This is the nastiest cough I can remember having in a long time...and the poor kiddos sound even worse :( Will this EVER end? I know it's nearing March, but it is DEFINITELY the heart of winter, still...in my book.
With that in mind, I decided to pull out my darling Gliding By Sophia from Paper Pretties for a few last laps around the ice that doesn't seem to want to melt!
A few weeks ago, Jodi challenged us Prettie Girls to make a "Power of One" card...ONE layer, ONE embellie, ONE sentiment. Ok, can you say HARD? I am sooooooo not the one layer card girl! So this was especially challenging for me.
I embossed my cardstock with my squares to create at least a little variation in the stark, white, nothing-ness that I am SOOO not used to LOL!...and to create a nice frame for my pretty in pink Sophia. Added stickles as my embellie, wasn't sure if that counted as a "real" embellie (what do you guys think hee hee?) and stamped the sentiment. Hey, at least this one will only cost me .42 to mail, right???

Now, in OTHER exciting news: On Sunday March 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along!! She is so very sweet Jess! Love this one layer and very ingenious to emboss that frame.....it really grounds it when you only get one layer - yikes! I can feel your pain but this is gorgeous!

sorry to hear ya'll are all sick! when i was researching chocolate for my nurse anya card, i saw several web posts that said chocolate eased a cough. don't know if it's true as i haven't had the bad fortune to have to try it....but hey, it's worth a shot - gotta taste better than most medicines too! LOL!!

Feel better soon Jessica! We got the same cruddy stuff here in our home. Not cool, I know! On the otherhand your one layer card is adorable! The details are so pretty and it really brings the ice skater as a focal image. And a single stamp to mail? What a great benefit to a sweet card!

I really do think I am in love with this card it is very cute!! I have yet to get last months SOTM yet and last month it was this late too sucks to wait so long for them!!!!!! I want instant gratification!!!! LOL I can not wait to color her up!!!

Oh Yeah you will doubly want to check out her card because she used an Ian card in red white and blue. You should look at her blog I think she has gone mad her last probably 15 posts have been all Anya's and Ian's she is getting pretty good with them with her Shabby Sheek style and it is all your fault she is addicted too because I was the one who told her about them and we all know that you Mam are the one who got me addicted!!!!
