Call me, Peeps!

Hey, everyone!

I'm back with another Bella-riffic Friday post and I'm excited to be showing this FUN sketch by our very own Jeaniebella:

What's more?  I've been enjoying the company of two of my very bestest girlies, Pammy and Mercy and I am THRILLED to finally be able to see them again.  (Jessie we are thinking of you this weekend and wish you the BEST with your move!  :)

Funny, when I was coloring up the image for my card today, I didn't really think it would tie into a post about being with my friends, but it totally did... Seriously, does anyone even REMEMBER rotary phones?  I remember thinking I was so super cool when I learned to dial then phone with a pen or pencil eraser, LOL....I remember the first time I called a boy on a rotary phone.  It took forever to get to that 7th digit and I remember the butterflies grew stronger with each passing turn of the dial....most of all, I remember how my Grandma used to take her index finger and point it ever so perfectly and elegantly to dial a number from her yellow wall phone...ah, the things we remember.

Does ANYONE call anyone anymore?  I do, when I can.  For a long time I got into a rut of not talking to anyone over the phone.  I am a huge texter and emailer, facebooker, etc. but really there is nothing like a good ol' fashioned call or even a card in the mail.  I sent out a bunch of cards the other day and the emails I've been getting are really telling- you can really feel the appreciation and I am going to continue to do that because it made my heart happy to hear!  It's rare and precious times like these when you can actually visit in PERSON that make it even more important to sprinkle my loved ones' world with little calls and cards in the mail when I can...because they are a POSITIVE influence in my life and I want to be one in theirs <3  Something about hearing happy voices on the other end of that line...love it :)

SO yeah...the "Call Me Peep" from Stamping Bella ended up being a VERY appropriate little stamp for today!   I colored the image w/ my Copics and used

Well, we are OFF next week in Bella-land, peeps!  There will be no challenge on the 1st, but please keep in mind that our BELLA BOOK BUNCH discussion goes live on the 1st on our very own forumabella!

Then, on July 8th, we'll be back in full force with a ___ challenge so be sure to visit Em's blog for all the details on 'commentaytin'" and winning!   See you soon, everyone...and don't forget to visit the rest of the Bella Babes:

Have a FABBY weekend...CALL someone!
xoxo,

Really cute card. I totally got what you meant about making a personal connection. Techy stuff make make the world smaller but its puts distance in our relationships.

Oh, I also found your tab for your SU Demo info. I couldn't get a direct link to your page but I listed you as my new Demo and put in a little order. Thanks! My old Demo quit and I wasn't sure who I could use or even depend on. So glad you are a multi-tasking crafty godess!

Hugs to you ladybug!

Sooo cute Jess!!! I love that image!! I love today's post Jess. I know in this modern age of texting and FB ppl forget that it's nice to hear a voice on the other end. I try to call instead of texting as it just seems faster to me. I have so many cards that I horde them all. Why? I'm not sure, but I'm going to take a lesson from you and start sharing them. Thanks so much for reminding me of that and for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend!! HUGs,

Jess!!! I love this Peep and your card is perfect for her! Wicked idea for the lace at the bottom too, as she does look a little old fashioned with her hat!! Great card!

Hi Jessica. I love your card. Love how you have used the lace and the papers. So sweet. Love that you have colored her like your paper as well. She just jumps from the paper. I do remember rotary phones. lol... Showing my age here, but I also rememeber when you could purchase or rent I guess your own style of phone. We thought we were so high class when we got the phone that held the phone book in the back and had the chalk board on the front. Wow, my Mom even put it up on the wall between the kitchen and the dining room so that we could sit at the bar and talk to our friends. Of course you didn't like the rotary too much when late at night you and your friends were calling the radio station or making prank calls to the boys. lol.. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I can still see our house and everything. Hugs, Lisa

How adorable! I remember having a big white clunky tabletop rotary phone, lol! We used to lug it around the room, seriously! It weighed like 20lbs, LOL!
Enjoy your time with your besties :)

Hey - it's a ribbon challenge on the 8th- see I do read your whole post! Anyhoo - GREAT card. OMG I've feared coloring that phone petrified of getting a black gray blob but your's looks just like my Grammy's. And the lace is such a shabby chic addition. Love it!

Madelynn you go girl! You're card is super cute! I love that you made Piper's pigtails two different shades it just makes her all the more funky and irresistible. I love the darker colors and the antiqued look. What kind of colors did you use? The pink is amazing.

Keep crafting!
