This is NOT for me...

LOL...

Anytime I make a pregnancy reference, people whip their heads around wondering if I have news. NO. Definitely NOT LOL! However, I just found out a friend of mine is preggo w/ her first child and so when it was time to alter an item, I knew exactly what I wanted to do :)

A few weeks ago, my friend and fellow DT member, Kimmie, challenged the Pink Papery Studios Design Team gals to alter an item using PPS stamps. Have I told you guys how awesome she is? We have become friends since I joined the PPS DT, and she is also a member of Madelynn's Twinkle Team, and it's been such a pleasure getting to know her. As busy as we all can be, she always makes time to email me, leave super sweet comments on everyone's blogs, and just has a great personality. So, thanks for not only a great challenge, but for being so awesome, Kimmie!

I just love this little baby in the pot :) It's the from 100% Natural digital stamp set from Pink Papery Studios and is so super cute, isn't it? I made this journal from scratch w/ my Bind it All machine and some chipboard. I covered the chipboard with Paper and ribbon and then added the ribbon to the coils after I bound it all together.

You can't really tell from the picture, but I used Shimmerz paints to color in the pot and flower and IRL it's SO super shimmery and pretty! I really love shimmer paints, dont you guys?
Til then, enjoy and I am LOVING everyone else's creations, so be sure to stop by the rest of the PPS DT's blogs to see what they altered up for ya this week! Links on my sidebar!

Be back soon w/ something Prettie...
Hugs,
Jessica :)

PPS Wednesday: Shimmery Snowflakes...

Shimmery Snowflakes!

(If you know my son, this is pirate talk, even without meaning it to be LOL! Remember "shimmery timbers?" ha ha ha)

This week's Pink Papery Studios DT Challenge was to make a card using METALLICS.

I used the little cutie pie from Catch a Falling Snowflake and doused her in Shimmerz paint in Coffee. I can be the biggest DP junkie on the planet and would you believe not ONE metallic paper? What's wrong with me?? LOL

Anyway, this DP from My Mind's Eye (my favorite Laundry Line) is almost metallic, very glittery raised laminated snowflakes as well as the K&Co. Snowflake I used. I loosely followed the Mojo Monday sketch this week to make this card.

Be sure to check out the other PPS DT girls shimmery samples and beautiful bling! Links on my sidebar. DID YOU KNOW that Pink Papery Studios is turning ONE??? We are gearing up for a bash soon and Amy is adding lots of new goodies to the site. Be sure to drop by today!

Enjoy...we actually are getting some falling snowflakes right now!!!

Hugs,
jessica :)

FABULOUS Twinkling Tuesday: Isn't She Lovely?

Hello All!

Happy Twinkling Tuesday to you! I have to tell you that I'm very excited about today's post. For one, we have our BLOG CANDY WINNER!!!

Random.Madelynn has drawn a name... and it's...it's....CHRISTI! We put everyone's name in a hat b/c there were some deleted posts and also some who didn't wish to be entered so to make sure it was done right, we did it the ol' fashioned way! CONGRATS Christi and I'll be mailing out your goodies today!!! Whoo hoo!

Now, I just have to tell you, too how excited I am about this week's sketch shown to the left here. Isn't it FABULOUS? Sometimes I wonder how this is all coming from an eight year old you know? Even though, I shouldn't say that because her creativity and imagination is something we've gotten very used to by now...but still, she just amazes me. Great job on this Madelynn! Mommy is SO proud of you!
I also have to tell you how excited I am about this little Pretty Hat Anya from The Greeting Farm! Isn't she fancy? I just love her. She comes with all different kinds of fun accessories...even animals!...that you can add to her fabulous hat. And I mean FABULOUS! That seems to be the theme...
I thoroughly enjoyed coloring her in, giving her a beautiful strand of pearls and coloring in the Rose with my Copic Spica pens. The lighting was pretty dim today in the house and my flash over did it, so you can't really see how GLORIOUSLY sparkly these pens are but OH MY...OH MY!!! Love them. Love her.
Ha ha reminds me of "My Best Friend's Wedding". Have you seen it? The part where Rupert Everett meets Kimmie's mom and goes "Love it. Love the bag, love the shoes, love everything. LOVE IT!" That's JUST how I feel about this fancy Anya :)

I have another card today from our Twinkle Team's featured stamper of the week, none other than the fabulous Cassie! Isn't this card GAWJUS???? I told her that after I woke up from fainting, I'd post it LOL! Seriously, I loved her interpretation of the sketch and it's pink...AND has butterflies. You girls are so good to me :) Cassie and I met through the Pink Papery Studios DT and have become friends. She is so sweet and cheerful every time we email and as the DT coordinator for PPS, she is SO encouraging to the rest of the team. Thanks for being our featured stamper this week, Cassie!
I LOVE the detail on this card. The colors, the 3D butterflies w/ the pearls...and I really like the piecing of the sentiment. So sweet! You really rocked this challenge, Cassie!
So, you want to play the sketch? We certainly hope you do! There's no time limit this week...just make sure you leave a comment here on this post so that DD and I can come take a look at your, well...fABULOUS creation!
Make sure you use keyword MTTSC4 on SCS or PCP. Speaking of which, did you know? Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesdays now has a group on PaperCraft planet! Check out the details HERE.
Be sure to stop by the ENTIRE Twinkle Team's blogs and show 'em some love today as they have whipped up some greatness for you to enjoy!
Stay tuned tomorrow as I have a few things to show you :) Til then...hugs!

Jessica :)

PPS Wednesday: Sit back,Scrap, and Relax!

Hey everyone! I CANNOT believe it's the last day of 2008! Sad to see it go, but I'm looking forward to 2009...I have a fun few things coming up in the next few weeks, especially some stamping ones, so I'm anxious to get started!

Looking back, this was a HUGE year for me in the stamping world though, so I am a bit sorry to see the year go. Lots of new excitement, new friendships, DT stuff...WHAT....a whirlwind! I am SO grateful for it all.

It was fun to wrap up the year with this fun Challenge that the DT girls at Pink Papery Studios are participating in today. A challenge was issued to use TWO different scraps of Designer Paper. What a great way to use up some scraps as ALL the cute new product lines are coming out??? BRILLIANT!

I love this Simply Cocoa digistamp. Whether it's coffee or tea, it's ME! I've had BOTH in my mug already today and while the snow has started to fall again it's awfully cozy in here!

DID YOU HEAR? PPS is having a birthday at the end of this month! We are turning ONE! Be sure to stay tuned for some fun bday plans...you won't want to miss this! Don't forget, too, to stop by and check out what the rest of the DT gals have whipped up for today's challenge...links are on my sidebar. They rock!
Back later with a Prettie Bright card... hugs
Jessica :)

PPS Wednesday: Keeping it Simple...

OK, seriously, after the day I had yesterday, this pink, cheery, and CHILL card is just what I needed to make!

I'm not so great at keeping things simple, whether it's with cardmaking or in general ha ha ha, so this DT challenge was good for me! I think I am going to give this card, using the Pink Papery Studios' Simply Bath set, to my Mom the day after Christmas...she is having 33 people for Christmas Day, has 3 houseguests from out of town, and still took time to feed me a home cooked meal tonight and shelter me from the HEINOUS snow storm we had today...all while keeping me sane on the phone after my spin-outs in the snow...Thanks Mom! I really don't know what I would've done today without you...

Hope you guys like it and let's all remember to RELAX and ENJOY the next few days...and the days after we will spend (hopefully) playing with some new goodies ;0)

Before I go, I want to make a VERY special announcement and welcome my dear friends Taylor, Jen, and Heather to the Pink Papery Studios Design Team! I am SO thrilled to be announcing them today and to know that I'll get to work along side them and the rest of our super awesome DT gals...they are all SUCH sweethearts and I've really enjoyed getting to know them better lately. This team is going to ROCK! Make sure to stop by everyone's blog today and see what the rest of the DT cooked up, all the while "keeping it simple". Leave 'em some love!!! (links on my sidebar :)

Be back soon with a Prettie Christmas wish... ;)

Naughty?...or Nice?

Well, I know I'VE been a good girl this year...heh heh...

It's Wednesday, so time for another fab Pink Papery Studios DT challenge! This week, our challenge was issued by the ever so AMAZING stamper (who also happens to be a very good friend of mine!) Jami Bova. She issued the PPS gals a challenge to create Designer Paper (DP) using PPS stamps.
Now, normally, you go, ok...easy peasy! But, for me, this was a TAD bit more involved b/c I don't have Photoshop and the stamps I wanted to use are digistamps. Have you heard of this new breed of stamps? Well, head on over to the website and you can see how they're offered! Basically, you have the choice at Pink Papery Studios to either purchase an actual stamp set, or purchase a digital download at a much more affordable price.
Be sure to stop by my fellow PPS sistas and check out their take on this week's challenge! Links are on my sidebar! Thanks for visiting their blogs, too!!

Images are printed out on good quality cardstock and then easily colored in w/ Copics or other markers...and no smearing! Anyway, I chose to work with the new Simply Santa set. I bet you DID see Momma kissing Santa Claus...he brought home a 12 set Copics for NO reason the other day LOL! What a guy... what a guy... NO reason. LOVE that!

So, yeah, this card is for my Santa and will be under the tree with...hmmm...guess I should go shopping! Ack!

On that note, shopping will have to wait a few more days.... Please say a little prayer for my lil guy who is having surgery this morning to get the rods removed from his leg. We are a whole month ahead of schedule so that is truly a blessing. What a gift for Christmas! I will update as soon as I can to let you know how it went. It's day surgery so that's good. Thank you for keeping him (and his wreck of a nervous nellie Mom lol) in your prayers and thoughts!

Big Hugs,
Jessica :)

Shaking with Excitement...

Hey everyone!

Happy Saturday! Woo hoo...the weekend is HERE! I have a few plans, but nothing crazy busy for once in a weekend which is WAY nice. The DH is off (which is RARE on weekends), the kiddos want to relax and have movies and popcorn to keep warm, I am working w/ my Lushies tonight, and Sunday will catch up with a friend.

You know what that means? There is STILL TIME in between to STAMP! Yippee!

I have a card for you today that I'm kind of proud of...well, I mean, I'm USUALLY proud of my cards, but this one required some extra TLC but was well worth it, I think! A few days ago, my amazingly talented and sweet friend Taylor made THIS card. I love snowglobes and have been quite into the shaker card technique again this winter ever since I found those cute Hero Arts sequined snowflakes...

...anyway, I was DETERMINED to create a snowglobe card with my own two hands and voila! I did it! I LOVE this cute set from Pink Papery Studios, called Catch a Falling Snowflake. Isn't it sweet? I had a great time cutting out these sweet little images and popping them up on dimensionals, creating a 3D effect inside the snowglobe. Now, if only I had the time and energy to make 50 more of these...ha!

Warm wintery hugs,
Jess :)

PPS Wednesday: No peeking, no SHAKING until Dec. 25th!

Hey everyone! It's Wednesday, which means I'll be pulling triple duty today here in blogland! Be sure to "blurf" on by a few times today as I'll have three posts in total to show you. LOL "blurfing"...are you familiar w/ that term? To me, it sounds too much like being sick to your stomach, but apparently, when you have "blog" and "surfing"...you get Blurfing! Who knew? I have learned so much here in cyber stamping world...that's for sure!

My first post is our Wednesday DT challenge at Pink Papery Studios. This week, a challenge was issued by the adorable and SUPER talented Janna to create a gift tag using blue, purple, white and silver. Beautiful wintery colors!

I crated a shaker tag, using Hero Arts sequin snowflakes to shake things up! If you haven't already, check out the All Wrapped Up stamp set over at Pink Papery Studios... I just love it. It's so fun to color in and comes as a "digi-stamp". You can enjoy it as soon as you buy it instead of having to wait for shipping! Print it out on some cardstock and you're good to go!

Be sure to check out what the other fab DT girls came up w/ for this challenge...links on my sidebar! Have a great day and stay warm...it's COOOLLLLD out there!

Warm wintery hugs,
Jessica :)

PPS Wednesday: Handmade with Love...

Hey everyone!
It's a CHILLY Wednesday here in the 'burbs...eek! I'm not a fan of this weather and keep asking myself, "WHY do I live here?" LOL. Anyway, whenever I'm chilly, I think of soup, hot chocolate, and the like to keep warm and toasty.
That was my idea when making today's project I have for you. Using the Simply Cocoa set (again :) from Pink Papery Studios, I decided to create a little hot chocolate/card holder for this week's DT challenge. You could also do this with a cup of soup packet for a get well gift.

I took a full sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock and scored a line down the middle the shortway and then two inches from the end longways. Using a few pieces of sticky strip, I secured the ends of the 2" fold to create a pocket and then folded the whole thing in half.

I tucked a Thank you card on one side and then the hot chocolate packet on the other, making sure to use lots of chocolate browns on the outside cover to really tie in the theme.

It literally took me 10 minutes to make this, so you could definitely mass produce these. The longest part is coloring in w/ Copics or whatever markers you'd want to use but I had the image colored ahead of time.

To finish it off, I used my Crop A Dile to punch in three jumbo eyelets. The last hole I punched through BOTH sides of the folder so that the whole thing can be tied together w/ a pretty ribbon.

Be sure to stop by the other Pink Papery Studios DT gals to see what they came up with for this challenge...links on my sidebar! Thanks and see you back here with a festive Prettie post :)

Hugs,
Jess :)

Pink Papery Studios Challenge: Giving Thanks!

Hey everyone...it's Wednesday and I will have a few cards for you today.

The first one is for our Pink Papery Studios DT Challenge. This week, Cassie issued the DT a challenge: Create a Thank you card in honor of Thanksgiving!

Now, this may seem simple as anything, but for me, a new DT gal with only two stamps, one of which contains a Christmas tree, this was a bit daunting! LOL! I chose to work with the Simply Cocoa set which I love and used pretty Fall colors to color her in with my Copics. Doesn't this just make you want to cozy up near a fireplace and have a nice chat?

I've been really busy lately and have a TON of people to thank for being super generous w/ my son these last few weeks. I've been making a ton of cards and they're all ready to be sent out...hopefully today! I'm out of stamps, as usual, of course, so a trip to the PO is necessary...

Anyway, one of my awesome friends, Jillian, has been checking in on me lots and making sure that I'm not losing my mind being at home, not to mention pretty worried about the whole situation w/ my little guy. So, Jillabella, this one's for you. The girlie image made me think of you :) The only things missing in this image is my laptop and cell phone since my morning coffee's have been spent chatting with her via email or texting...but thanks for doing your part in keeping the smiles coming and the jokes rolling! You are an amazing friend and I look forward to continuing this crazy journey that life has partnered us together on! Mwah!

I am so thankful for the wonderful people I have met through this stamping world, and the opportunities that continue to come my way. There have been so many open doors to walk through these last few months and I'm grateful for all of it. Most of all, I can't be grateful enough for the beautiful family I have been blessed with. As we do every year, we seem to have more and more to be thankful for...I can't wait for Thursday. I can smell the Turkey and my mom's pumpkin pie right now!

I'll be back later with a Prettie post...til then, Thankful hugs! ~Jessica :)

I'm seein' Red...and a TEENY bit of grey :)

Hey everyone, it's a "TRIPLE WHAMMY WEDNESDAY" here as I'm calling it on The Whimsical Butterfly blog...

I have TONS to show you today, but before I do, HAPPY THIRD BIRTHDAY AVA!!! I can't believe my little baby is three. It's amazing to me and I can't wait to celebrate the day with her...I'm off to start that now!

Before I step out for a while, though, I want to show you this card I made using the Pink Papery Studios stamp "All Wrapped Up". I just LOVE this girlie image and it really puts me in the mood to start buying (and MAKING!) and wrapping some amazing gifts!

This was my first DT challenge as a guest with Pink Papery Studios! The challenge was issued by the lovely and talented Cassie and the rules are to use RED and GREY in the color scheme, in honor of it being National Diabetes month. Her Grandfather had it and also her Mother was diagnosed a few years ago. I unfortunately didnt' have ANY Grey cardstock, or even ribbon...wah! I did manage to find this pretty pewter brad though, so I hope it does the challenge justice!

It was fun playing and make sure you check out the Pink Papery Studios website! Amy is still loading up the website with tons of cute stamps, embellishments, and the new "Shimmer IT!" Paints coming soon! I can't wait for those...who doesn't need MORE bling?

Have a great day and I'll see you soon with something prettie...any guesses?!?!? Hugs,

Toasty-Warm Thursday...

Hi all...it's toasty warm in my house today...not outside of it though!!

Oh, if you don't know me very well, I do NOT like cold weather. Soooo, while I wait for my shot at a life in Charleston, SC..Nashville maybe...you MAY hear this from time to time. Sorry! LOL

What could be better though than a hot cup of coffee or cocoa on a comfy sofa as we're getting into these chilly months? This stamp from Pink Papery Studios really got me in that warm, cozy mood! It's called Simply Cocoa and is one of many adorable images in a ridiculously cute new line of stamps!

Have you guys heard of Pink Papery Studios? You really need to head on over! They have a ton of beautifully illustrated, fun, and girly stamps to offer and are also tapping into a newer realm of "digi-stamps", where you can download a file for a very reduced cost than the actual rubber/polymer set and print them out on cardstock! Kind of nice to have the option to do that, right? Personally, I still like to get my hands dirty, but this cozy chick was digitally downloaded and it was kind of fun! She was ready to color right from my printer...pretty cool!

In addition to really fun stamps, Pink Papery Studios is offering a new product called "Shimmer IT!", adorably fun pots of shimmer paint available in a wide array of colors! They also offer card "scents", a spray made especially for cardstock that you spray on before you send them in the mail...you will flip when you see how many scents are available! It's such a cool idea!
The website is brand new, so some of the products are still being loaded onto the site, but stay tuned to Amy's BLOG for the latest and greatest updates! Hope to see you guys inking up some of their awesome new stamps!!!

I am going to be doing some guest work for Pink Papery Studios in November and December so stay tuned for more cuteness! I can't wait to tell you/show you more!

Thanks for looking and stay warm! I'm gonna go grab another cup of coffee now... Hugs, Jess :)
