You're Invited...

...to a TWISTED Tea Party with The Greeting Farm!

Hello!

A "dark and twisty" (My fave Meredith phrase from Grey's Anatomy! LOL!)) WELCOME to The Greeting Farm's "TEA TIMES THREE" release party! This is the last and definitely MOST TWISTED of THREE Tea Parties today at The Greeting Farm, all leading up to our release at MIDNIGHT CST (3/1)!!!

Please sit back, have a sip, and savor the cuteness, because it's time for TWISTED TEA with Ebony, Camille, and our three new CREEPY CAKE digis, "Royal Pain", Twisted Tea herself, and "Freaky Flutter"!

We are so excited about this release, and as the hours go by, the tea has definitely become more twisted!  Perhaps our manners were checked at the door, and our pinky fingers not exactly the portraits of perfection, but nevertheless we are HERE, and freakishly happy to introduce you to our latest rubber AND digi friends...Twisted, Twilight-ish, and Terrific!

My card today is actually a prototype of my DD's birthday invitation for the upcoming soiree we are having for her....ALICE inspired, of course!   I'm sure you're SHOCKED, right?  Haha....we even ordered her a creepy cake of her own-you know the off-kilter layers and all?   TOTAL Mad Hatter cake and I am SO excited!  I even have a Mad Hatter hat ;)   CAN'T. WAIT.

SO this is "Twisted Tea", one of the three new "Creepy Cakes" that will be available in just a few hours!

Our Twisted Tea friends will probably be partying well into the wee hours, but but have no fear, they'll be released at the stroke of MIDNIGHT CST tonight!  But in the meantime, head over to the TGF Blog and follow the simple, civilized instructions to enter to WIN the new "Creepy Cakes" digis from The Greeting Farm!   You'll have until 9am CST tomorrow (Monday, 3/1) to enter to WIN, and be sure to stop by the Club Anya and Friends Blog tomorrow morning for ANOTHER chance to WIN FREE STAMPS!

All winners will be announced shortly after 9AM CST on Monday morning, and each tea party has a winner, so don't forget to throw your MAD HAT in the ring.

Thanks so much for joining us for our "Tea Times Three" release event!  Pinkie's up, everyone!

We ALL Go a little MAD....

CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don’t much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn’t matter which way you go," said the Cat.

Hello!   ***If you are just getting here to my blog today, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN for my Club Anya and Friends preview and my CRAZY 4 CHALLENGES post!   Thank you SO much!  ***

We have a fabulous sketch challenge today on the OH, ALICE! Challenge blog designed by our own TWISTED Tea Party member, Mary Giles!   Here is the sketch:

We are VERY honored to be introducing our first sponsor to you today.  Kathy from Pixie Dust Studios has VERY generously let us work with her new Digis from her "Down the Rabbit Hole" collection debuting March 1st!   What's more?  ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at random from this week's participants to choose THREE FREE DIGIS of their choice from Pixie Dust Studios!  Thank you Kathy!

My card uses the Depp-inspired Mad Hatter which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!  This was SUCH a fun sketch and I had a blast coloring this dude up.   I happen to be at my friend Pam's who has the Sassy Studios sentiments so I cut one off of her printout and it was PERFECT for this card-cuz yanno, we all go a little mad sometimes, LOL!!!!!

We hope you'll play along this week and enter to WIN your choice of three of these new images from PDS!

You have until FRIDAY, March 5, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above sketch as your muse!  Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC2) and LINK your name to the Oh, ALICE blog using Mr. Linky!

Have an awesomely MAD weekend, everyone!

Crazy for Textures and New Rubber Stamps...

Hi all!

I'm getting CRAZY this weekend with my friends for some MUCH, MUCH, MUCH needed girlie time and have TWO posts for you today, so scroll up for my "Oh, Alice" post too!

The card I have for you right now combines my preview of EBONY (in rubber, finally!) on the Club Anya and Friends blog and also my Crazy4Challenges card.   This week's C4C is to use at least THREE different TEXTURES on your card.

Check out the C4C blog and a special thank you to our friend and fellow DT member Joycelyn for sponsoring us this week w/ her "Totally Stampalicious" line of stamps!   The girls have lots of eye candy for you today, so please be sure to visit:

My card today uses the newly "rubberized" "Ebony" stamp.  Ebony was one of our favorite digis, so much so that we had to bring her to life to the TGF Rubber line!

I used crystal effects to add texture to her headband, gems to add some blingy texture, and the paper is from the new My Mind's Eye "home" pack-a 6x6 collection of the Oooh la ha for Him and Her but ALL textured, glittery paper.  IT's beautiful!

Today over on the Club Anya and Friends blog we have MORE beautiful samples and a Sketch Challenge by Pammy!  And leave some love for:

Be sure to stop by The Greeting Farm's blog tomorrow starting at NOON CST for our "Tea Times Three" release party with prizes galore and SUPER fun samples!    On Monday, the Club Anya blog will have a SPECIAL edition of Monday Mania featuring a bigger prize package and a a few DT members have something to give away, too!

Gonna be a fun week on the Farm!

You are my Sunshine...and my Rainbow, too...

Hello my lovelies!!!

***I have TWO POSTS today, and I would SO appreciate if you scroll down to see my GREETING FARM post and also some pics of my adorable sister :)   Thank you so much!***

Definitely a day to cherish family here on the ol' blog, although EVERY day should be good for that!   So you all might remember the other day I posted the BEAUTIFUL PICTURE that my 9 year old DD drew me.  You can see that picture HERE.

I was so touched by her beautiful sentiment and the AMAZING soul that she has at only 9 years old that I wanted to make her a card to tell her how much she means to me!  I have to say though I'm setting quite the precedent here-my kids are all getting to the point that if I go too long w/out sticking a card in their lunchbox they think something is up, LOL!   But a beautiful drawing that i will hang onto FOREVER definitely deserves a little recognition, don't you think?

I was SO BUMMED when I went to grab my "Sunshine and Lollipops" 6x6 pad from Sassafrass Lass and to my dismay, the paper w/ the rainbows on it were ALL used up!   BUT ALAS!  There was the COVER of the paper pad!!!   Yep, I went there!   I tore that cover RIGHT OFF and even cut out the words "Sunshine" and "Lollipop" to make her a card that totally fit her BEAUTIFUL drawing!   YAY!

So here's what I came up with, using this beautiful sentiment from the UNITY FEBRUARY Kit of the Month:

I LOVE that saying!   That is what I want for all of my kids, and you guys all know that's why I adore Angela the artists at Unity-the stamps are whimsical, and the sentiments are SO poignant to me and I love being able to express myself through their stamps.    LOVE ME SOME UNITY!

I also used the new "Stitched Greetings" set available at UNITY RETAILERS!  You can click on the home page for a list of stores that carry Unity!

Are you guys signed up yet for the Kit of the Month Club?   You can find all the info about that HERE.  And stay tuned...I have another Unity-related announcement coming next week that I can't WAIT to share with you!  For now, be sure to check out the UNITY BLOG-it's had a makeover and it's FABULOUS, I must say!  Check out what Ang has going on for you today and be sure to visit my beautiful teamies, too:

and our lovely and TALENTED-SUPER TALENTED! Guest DT, Latisha Yoast!

For now, thanks for stopping by, and take time to see every rainbow in your life!   And this is for Madelynn, and my three other "rainbows":

"May FLOWERS always line your path and sunshine light your day; May SONGBIRDS serenade you every step along the way; May a RAINBOW run beside you in a sky that's always blue, and may HAPPINESS fill your HEART each day your whole life through..."

My Darling Sister...

Hello everyone!   Happy Thursday to all of you and thanks for coming back for this post!

Do you guys know that I have the bestest sister ever?  She is 10 years younger than me and the baby of our family.   It's been really interesting having such a large gap in age.  I babysat her, changed her diapers, and well, have watched her mature into her adulthood both from the sidelines and given her advice when she needed me...whether she thought she did or she didnt, LOL.  And ya know, I need her too :)  Even with some growing pains that life may have caused us both from time to time, mistakes we've made, all of it... there is one thing that's clear-her and I are closer than ever even though distance between Illinois and Tennessee well, kinda stinks sometimes :(

Through it all though, we talk all the time, and we even have a "sister's pose" LOL!

I couldn't help but think of her today when I was making my card to preview the BRAND NEW stamp set from THE GREETING FARM: "Darling Sisters".    Isn't she super, super sweet???    I adore this new set and it's nothing like any other set that TGF offers.   LOVE that it's new, different, kinda country/classic, and that it is just as sweet as can be!

DARLING SISTERS will be released on Monday, March 1st, but stay tuned to join into our "Tea Times Three" release party on Sunday, 2/28 starting at NOON CST!   We have TONS of surprises up our sleeve and cannot WAIT for this event to take place!   Can't believe it's about that time already!

I couldn't WAIT to crack open my new "Material Girl" DP Minideck from Cosmo Cricket!   This paper couldn't have been released at a better time-it's PERFECT for this new set!

Don't forget to stop by the TGF Blog today to see all the previews we have of the new DARLING SISTERS, and to see the beautiful creations of:

Well, that's it for me today, but I'll be back tomorrow with something I've been TWISTING and turning in my seat to show you!!!   You will NOT want to miss this!!!

To "Suzy my sister" (*ha! that is a funny story for another day!)...before I sign off:

"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.  She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.  She is your partner in crime (Suzy-donuts! LOL!), your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark..."  ~Barbara Alpert

"It was nice growing up with someone like you - someone to lean on, someone to count on... someone to tell on!"  ~Author Unknown  (LOL!)

"To the outside world we all grow old.  But not to brothers and sisters.  We know each other as we always were.  We know each other's HEARTS.  We share private family jokes.  We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys.  We live outside the touch of time."  ~Clara Ortega

I love you my Sa-za ;)

"It's a love story baby just say yes..."

My 4 year old little DD loves "Taylor Swiff".   We are jamming to "Love Story" as I write this and I thought about how that could have been the country version of Twilight, LOL!

Today over on the CA&F Blog, it's my turn to host Wild Card Wednesday!   My challenge was to "emboss it"....yep, just use SOME type of embossing and you can enter to win a free digi!   Today is ALSO the beginning of MARCH PREVIEWS, and wouldn't ya know we are releasing Edward's 'girlfriend' "Camille" (e-hem looks like someone else, LOL!) in RUBBAH!  Hooray!   You guys asked, and the twi-digis are slowly being released...you'll just have to wait and see!   For now, check out the rest of Team Anya's creations with Camille:

Today is also the Diedrich Dare and I am THRILLED to welcome our newest member, the lovely and talented ANDREA MURDOCK!  YAYYYY!  Welcome Andrea!  Andrea serves on the DT for one of my FAVE stamp companies, (actually, prob my next fave besides TgF and Unity!)  Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and we are SO excited to welcome here to the DARE!   Please stop by her blog and say hello!

Our DARE this week comes from my amazing DD Madelynn.  Here is the sketch she drew:

And here is my card, using the beautiful new Camille Sprout from The Greeting Farm and using the sketch and embossing for my WCW Challenge:

Be sure to check out the other Daredevils and see what they whipped up w/ the sketch, too!:

Last but not least, I have to share this picture that Madelynn drew me yesterday.   She IS a rainbow, isn't she?  God, I love my kids.  They are such amazing souls with caring, kind, and compassionate little spirits. They just melt ya sometimes, don't they?

Have a wonderful and whimsical Wednesday, everyone!

Well, I'm glad to be back and as always, Mercy has a fabulous sketch to share with us this week:

I used another Cheeky Cherry stamp from The Greeting Farm, Cheeky Rockabilly.  She is SO cute, isn't she???  Super fun to color, too!  Following the sketch and using the UBER cute "Be Loved" DP from My Mind's Eye, I whipped up this card:

Oh, ALICE!!!!

Ok, if you guys could see me I am literally stomping my feet right now saying that out loud!!!

UGH!  I have had the WORST internet luck this past 24 hours I can't even BEGIN to tell you.     And I probably WILL because really it's comical and involves faulty wiring (that's new construction for ya!), hurt-your-ear-foghorn-alarm noises, the Fire dept...all KINDS of fun stuff!

BUT, I'm LATE!  I'm LATE!  For a VERY important date as TODAY is the first Challenge over at the brand new "OH, ALICE!" Challenge blog!

It's a fun one, and there's a PRIZE, so don't miss it!  YAY!  I can FINALLY post this fun stuff, so here's the scoop:
CHAPTER ONE: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: THE BEGINNING...

"The White Rabbit put on his spectacles. "Where shall I begin, please your Majesty?" he asked.

"Begin at the beginning," the King said gravely, "and go ontill you come to the end: then stop."

ALICE GETS GLAM: INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

In anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton remake, let's GET GLAM with Alice!  I recently scored this UBER fab makeup palette by Urban Decay (thanks honey!) and fell in love with the awesome colors, the NAMES of the eyeshadows (all after Alice, of course ;) and the pop-up mushroom mirror!  In fact, like  three people showed this to me last week and it was SO funny b/c he had already gotten it for me but then got worried I was going to go buy it and as a thank-you for some extra stuff I've taken on lately, he gave me a lil' present.  LOVE that guy!

Um, can you say this was MADE for me? I actually own every pop-up book of Alice, too...so one that has pretty stuff in it? CURIOSER AND CURIOUSER!!!!!

Here's my card today using the UNITY Jan. Kit of the Month, {Savor the Journey}:

Sorry the pic isn't the best-in addition to all my wireless issues, my laptop is in the shop so I'm using a diff PC  and took this w/ my phone :)

So here's the deal: We wanna see how YOU get Glam using this amazing little piece as your inspiration! Show us your style, put on the glitz, and GET GLAM!

And WHAT would our first Challenge be without a PRIZE?! Now, normally we'll be (hopefully) sponsored on the 1st Sat. of each month, but for today's FIRST Fall Down the Rabbit Hole, we thought we'd give away a little something! ONE LUCKY WINNER will be chosen at Random to WIN a stamp single of their choice from THE GREETING FARM (in stock items only). So, GOOD LUCK and here's how to play:

You have until FRIDAY, February 26, 2010 at 10pm CST to upload your card or project using the above inspiration photo as your muse! Upload to your blog or public gallery (please use keyword OAC1) and LINK your name below using Mr. Linky! We can't WAIT to see your creations and THANK YOU for your support of this CURIOUS new venture!
Don't forget to check out the OH,ALICE! Blog  There are some ABSOLUTELY GLAMTASTIC samples from our Twisted Thirteen and me, and don't forget to stop by Jimmi's blog because she's got some candy, so I hear :) And leave some love for ALL of our girlies because they ROCK:

Have a FABULOUS day in WONDERLAND!  xoxo

LOVE. Clean and Simply...

Ok that did not sound as cute as the movie title "Love, Actually"...but you see where I am going, LOL!

And hey, it's still Valentine's week, so we are ALL about the LOVE, AND all about the BRAND NEW FEBRUARY Kit of the Month! It's just about to hit your doorsteps if it hasn't already if you're a Kit Club Member!  What's more?  If you're NOT, you can still get this kit at the special Kit of the Month club pricing before it goes up in price after the end of the month, and I have to say the stamps in this kit are AWESOME!

While I'm having a blast with this kit, you'll see more of it later in the week.   I have the last of my "Clean and Simple" attempts (and I emphasize ATTEMPTS LOL!) that I tried last month...sigh....   Seriously, I just think I end up putting MORE time into a "clean and simple" card despite the coloring, paper piercing, layering, even sewing...for some reason my brain just doesn't "do" clean and simple cards, so it ends up being more work for me!  Grrrrrrr LOL!   You know what though?  Cards may be one thing?  But in my life, I'm a clean and simple girl.  LOVE clean and simple and cherish the simple every day joys that are all around me-now that's something to LOVE ;)

Actually, there is a little hidden sentiment too, behind the making of this card.  The LOVE of my life is going to receive this card today when he comes back from work and after 17 years, things are finally in that simple, comfortable stage and that is a HUGE thing to be celebrated.  Of course I speak lightly about it and it makes me giddy that it 'works" with this post,  but it truly is a beautiful thing.   It takes a lot of work, and a lot of "watering", just like the pretty flowers in this "Best Wishes and Blooms" set, to make a marriage work and one thing I never thought it would be was "easy".   So now that it IS so comfortable and SIMPLE, I am truly grateful and you know, he won't care that this card is a :"CAS" experiment, LOL!

I plan to show you more of this cute little set soon, but for now it's available to you through a UNITY RETAILER near you.  It's not being sold on the site as it was one of our CHA specials and we SO {heart} the special retailers we got to meet at the show!  So show them some LOVE and order the set through whoever you usually shop at, and ENJOY the clean and simple gifts that are ours EVERY DAY.

Be sure to stop by our beautiful DT girlies' blogs today and see what they've been up to:

and our FABULOUSLY talented and super sweet Guest Designer, Tisha Yoast!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope it put a smile on your face!  Of course I leave you with a few quotes, as I try to do from time to time, esp on UNITY days!

"It is always the simple things that change our lives; the things that never happen when you are looking for them to happen...this is how God does things..." ~Donald Miller

"But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?"  ~Albert Camus

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.  ~Leonardo DaVinci

Color Me Happy....if ya DARE!...

Hey Peeps!

It's a very colorful Wednesday and time for another Diedrich Dare!   This week, we have a color-ific combo that my DD Madelynn and I found in a magazine and hope you'll enjoy it!

Here's the combo:

My card today uses another Cheeky Rockabilly from THE GREETING FARM and the sentiment (which I thought was just so DOGGONE cute w/ the stamp!) is from Taylored Expressions!

I don't have much else to say today (shocker!) as I'm posting late because hubs and I had a super busy day and then I just HAD to watch LOST and by the time we were done w/ all that it was later than expected!   The good news is I'll be back tomorrow with some sweet Unity for ya and I'll probably be back to my ramblin' self ;)

Be sure to check out the DIEDRICH DARE Blog today as our own RANDI has a stellar (and I mean OUT of this WORLD!) post for you there, too!  And leave some love for the rest of our AWESOME team:

Before I go, here's a little quote I'd like to leave you all with:

"People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself.  But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates."  ~Thomas Szasz, "Personal Conduct"

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart;  and try to LOVE the unsolved like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything, not just question it..."  ~Rainer Maria Rilke

Here's to living in the now and LOVING every minute...and living it in COLOR, too ;)  Just like today's challenge.   xoxo

Mercy-ful Heavens, another Cheeky?!

Um, have ya heard the news?  I AM OBSESSED with the new CHEEKY CHERRY line from The Greeting Farm!!!

Before I begin, though, I just want to say THANK YOU for the outpouring of support and LOVE I felt on my blog yesterday and the WONDERFUL emails I got (like 4 of them-I was FLOORED!) about sharing that video with you guys.  I know this might sound corny, but as much as I TALK about the kids, life, etc., I don't always know that I feel comfortable blogging about that deeper realm of emotion, but you guys really seem to know what I'm talking about and really made me feel happy that I did it, so THANK YOU!  I loved that video so much that I'm going to post a permanent link on my sidebar so feel free to visit anytime ;)  And HUG those kids!  And each other, too :)

Ok, so....

CHECK out Mercy's Tuesday sketch this week, MTSC61:

Isn't it awesome?  I took a little "creative liberty" this week and changed the squares to hearts and a circle cuz hey, it's Valentine's week and we are ALL about the love, right?  I used the snazzy little Miss Cheeky Rockabilly by THE GREETING FARM for my card today and finally got to cut into my "Love me DO" DP from My Mind's Eye again-it's been too long since I got to work with these bright and cheery colors!

I'm tellin' ya, I'm really ashamed that I've become such a DP junkie.  It's embarrassing.  Seriously, I used to be soooo good about not getting too much and then I dont' know what HAPPENED?  I love EVERYTHING I see now (well, almost ;) and man, my little trip to CHA didn't help because I KNOW WHAT'S COMING!  ACKKKK!!!!!   Off to SCS to look for a paper support group, LOL!

But before I go, don't forget to stop by the MUSES...they rock!

and our WONDERFUL February GUEST MUSE, the SUPER talented Anya Schrier!

See you back here tomorrow for a VERY colorful Dare...don't miss it!  Hugs and love to y'all!

The MUSIC of my Heart...a Dedication to my Children...

“Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”  ~Elizabeth Stone

Today another little piece of my heart goes walking outside my body, as I share some more intimate thoughts with you that perhaps I don't always...but this is SO worth it to me...

As I sat here preparing my post for today's H{IPPITY} Hop with {Ippity}, I came across a video that made me stop EVERYTHING I was doing.  I mean EVERYTHING.  Of course this is only my opinion because it is so vivid a reflection of my inner most feelings and I hope I can trust them with you today...but if you know me at all, you know how I feel already so to me, this is the most poignant and profound thing I've ever seen.  It's so hard for me to convey the bevy of emotions when it comes to stuff like this that I was like, WOW...this is actually "IT".  HOW AMAZING is that?

Before I share this beautiful tribute, I will share my card and a little backstory... So, I was so eager to post this video as soon as I found it, and it JUST so happened that today's post for our H{ippity} hope was ALREADY dedicated to the FOUR people who are TRULY the MUSIC OF MY HEART...my children.

I created this card as a Valentine for them and decided that although this video would make the PERFECT Mother's Day post, isn't EVERY day Mother's Day when you're a mother?  And since Valentine's Day is about LOVE, well, we all know LOVE is about EVERY DAY.   I used the brand new set from {Ippity}, "Music of my Heart", released TODAY, to create this card.  Want this set?  Grab an {Ippity} chick and buy it!  Seriously stunning and meaningful in every way, you need these stamps, trust me.

Be sure to start on the UNITY OPPORTUNITY Blog to see where you can purchase them or perhaps YOU might want to become the next {Ippity} Chick?  I'm kinda thinkin' about it myself, actually...
*************************************************************************
And now, I'd like to dedicate the rest of this post to the 4 precious loves of my life...

"THAT's why I have to love you this way...

...so I can give what I have to you, so that you can carry it in your body, and pass it on...
I've watched you sleep, I've KISSED you a million times, and I KNOW something that you don't yet.
You're writing the story of your ONLY life, every single minute of EVERY day
And my greatest HOPE for you SWEET CHILD, is that I can teach you, how to write a GOOD one."

Here's to ALWAYS hearing the MUSIC of your heart...
xoxo
