The JOURNEY of a Lifetime...

Hey everybody...

{{{THANK YOU so, so much-beyond anything I can measure really-for scrolling down yet again today for another UNITY Sneak Peek-it's a SWEET ONE!  I can't tell you how crazy this week has been w/ two previews a day but your wonderful comments (esp on yesterday's 'cork' topic, LOL! mean the WORLD to me!}}}

If someone had told me two years ago that I'd be doing what I do now.  Designing.  Consulting.  Loving EVERY PART of this stamping experience with The Greeting Farm and beyond, I'd have said "really?  ya think?"   I can't even begin to tell you what a JOURNEY it has been.  A WONDERFUL ONE.  And it's only just begun.  ( I SO did not want that to rhyme!  Couldn't think of a better way to put it though ;)

I am pleased to reveal today's sneak peek of an ADORABLE new set "Journey" featuring Oliver and Amelia.  This one means more to me for the simple fact that it makes me reflect on my journey w/ TGF and life's journeys as well.

It really feel as if I'm RIGHT WHERE I SHOULD BE, but also know that we keep moving and I'm so looking forward to who and what I encounter next.   I am just LOVING it.  Love the right here-LOVE the right NOW  :)   Here is a card today, that I'm celebrating with:

Another SWEET Sneak...

Seasons Change...

Thanks for coming back to see Sneak Peek #2 from UNITY Stamps!

Ok, do you guys remember that Expose song titled the same?  Yikes...I'm having a bad early 90's flashback, LOL!

Well, nothing is going to cure that better than this SERENE and versatile new stamp from the JULY Kit of the Month coming on THURSDAY from UNITY STAMP CO!  Here's a peek:

And here's what I created for you today:

I was growing VERY frustrated that I had not yet had the chance to play with cork.  Typical me reaction to something new-speaking of change, as sometimes I do not like it! Ok, that's not true.  I ALWAYS  END UP liking it.  I just might drag my heels a bit.  So this is the Jess thought process on cork:

Week 1: Cork seen on cards.  Jess says "meh, don't like it".

Week 2:  Cork on cards.  Jess says "ok, that card is really cute. Still no likey."

Week 3: Cork on cards.  Jess says "alright, who SELLS the cork.  At least I should KNOW THIS in case I might 'NEED' it for a project later?"

Week 4:  Jess says "what does this card need that it's missing?"  Oh, right.  CORK.  The list just goes on from there.  it's so easy to convince ourselves we don't "NEED" the latest fun tool or trick in crafting, isn't it?

Well, thanks to a VERY sweet gift voucher from my girl Kim at MFT, I was able to dabble.  So CORK it was :)  Seasons Change.  EMBELLIES change :)   Tastes change.  And so does my stubbornness to try new things :D  LOVE that!

There are FIVE new chibis in all, but today I have the pleasure of introducing you to _Chibi Spain!   Isn't she cute?  I am still LOVIN' on my kit, Accidentally Kelly Street by the Pink NinjaAddicts where all my DP came from on this card!

Pretty Please?...

Hello, hello!!!

First of all, THANK YOU to the sweet sweet souls for your emails, blog/facebook/twitter comments, etc. all pertaining to my whining about not feeling good.  I have to say this is probably the most run down I've felt in a while (just in time for a week of DOUBLE previews everyday, LOL!...no, it keeps me going :)   You guys just are the sweetest and I THANK YOU.

Another person I thank is my AMAZING DH.  I swear that guy is always stopping at the store, popping in a load of laundry, SOMETHING for me every time I turn around. We do so much as work at home moms-have so many hats we love to wear, that this is truly just a blessing to me, and if you ask me, how it should be ;)

So I had this INSTANT idea pop into my head when I saw this "PRETTY PLEASE" stamp, your FIRST SNEAK PEEK of the UNITY JULY Kit of the Month!  WOO HOO!  I have to admit that after 10 years (16 of dating), we really are WELL. OILED. MACHINE.   If he's at Trader Joe's and I forget to tell him we're out of creamer, chances are, he's got it in the bag anyway. I LOVE. THIS.

However, when the OCCASIONAL need sets in for a reminder or a little personal 'PRETTY PLEASE", I created these:

I used the new stamp "PRETTY PLEASE" sentiment from the Kit plus the beautiful image on the bottom of my notecards is from Samantha Walker's "BUTTERFLY GARDEN" set, also available at stores that carry UNITY!  I absolutely adore her whimsical flourishes and beautiful design!  

The next photo is of all of the notecards I made along with one of my favorite perfumes that DH LOVES.   It's kinda cute/romantic right?  Actually, even when it's NOT romantic, the sense of smell really can make an experience so much stronger.  My Grandmother used to spray a bit of perfume on her handwritten letters.   I used to spend almost all summer with her in Door County, WI and I used to miss her so much that this was so comforting and wonderful for me to get a letter that smelled like her after we had returned home.

Some germ-filled ramblings and a UNITY winner...

Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry this is getting posted so late.  I'm a bit under the weather and a bunch feeling sorry for myself today, LOL!  Well, not really, but I am not feeling well :(   Have had a cough for the past almost 3 weeks and it's just not going away, so ended up having to have a breathing treatment at the hospital last night and they almost kept me over night but I fought my way out of that one ;)  SUPER bummed that today I was supposed to leave for Kansas City to go see my girl Jen and go to the Tim McGraw and Lady A concert tomorrow.   It will be LONG AFTER I am over the bronchitis/fever that I am over THAT one!

The best part of today was that I woke up feeling like I was burning up BAD, so I took my temp-not too bad 99.4...then I realized our AC was out.   It got up to 88 degrees inside the house before I realized it was broken and could have someone fix it...so it's cold showers and now we're just waiting for it to climb back down to 'tolerable' in here.

BUT, you know what?  There are WAY. WORSE. THINGS.   So enough-and thanks for listening to my sob story LOL if you've gotten this far!  I always know I can count on you peeps for listening ;)  I just felt like being online and the medicine I'm on is making me a little jumpy so I figured I should come say hi to you all....I'm sure you're all so glad I did...NOT.  hahaha ;)

Stealth Scrappin' with the Whimsical Butterfly....or HUGE green bug?!?...

I will NEVER forget my adorable, sweet, son walking up to me this day.  His sweet little face, adorable little polo (he LOVES polos-wears them all the time)...and all the sudden the HUGE. GREEN. BUG. comes into focus.

ACK!!!  I am uh....NOT a bug person?   This surprises people because I love butterflies so much.  I have to tell you that in the pink little world that I live in?  Butterflies: NOT BUGS!  LOL!

Nevertheless, this proud moment was NOT going uncaptured b/c Mom was about to bust out in a good case of nervous hives ;)   So here he is....my Jacky...CUTE. AS. A.BUG:

Hello everyone!

Today is Wild Card Wednesday at Club Anya & Friends and we are still celebrating our month-long array of sketches each Wed. by a different DT member!  Today we have an AWESOME sketch by Kim Costello:

LOVE this one!  I had yet to play with this cute yet sassy little Wild Sprout, Jade, from the Roll Call kit, now available at The Greeting Farm!.  She's as cute as can be but definitely looks like something is bothering her, haha.    I was hoping she'd see the world a little more through rose colored glasses if I gave her a pink 'do, so that's exactly what I did:

Like that big crafty flower?  That's a new embellie from Melody Ross's Homespun Chic collection and I adore her eclectic, artsy mix of iron ons, flowers, and buttons that make up this super awesome collection.   You'll be seeing more of that on my blog soon, most likely ;)

Simply Stated...YUM!

It's time for another installment of Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and it's a YUMMY one!  I'm going to keep my post short and sweet today as I'm in the midst of a MUCH needed girls' day of stamping and fun and I am already too busy running my mouth, LOL!

This is one AWESOME sketch!  Simple layout yet can be totally embellished on, and/or BLINGED OUT as in my case, haha.   I couldnt' wait to color up another one of the awesome digis I got from Tiddly Inks for today's card!  Artist Christy Croll really has some cuties in this little Goth Cutie line.  This one is called "Whoops".  HA!  Totally appropriate as this little sweetie seems to have had a bit of an icecream incident !

Ohhhhh DADDY!...

HELLO and HAPPY DADDY's day to all you Dad's out there!
I LOVE Father's Day.   I have the most wonderful Father and it's always nice to take the day to honor that even though we should, and I try to, honor it all year long.  Add to that, I have a WONDERFUL DH who is such a great Dad to our four kiddos.  He makes them laugh like no other, busts his butt to provide them w/ as much as we possibly can, allows me to stay home and raise them, and is very involved.  The BEST gift that Dads can give our kids is TIME, I truly believe that.  So, HAPPY DAD's DAY to all the Dad's out there!

On that same note though, we don't want to leave out those who aren't Dads, so this one's for the DUDES as well!   Introducing...

Ok, so this is kind of a funny story.  I was absolutely crooning for this kit "Accidentally Kelly Street" by the Pink Ninja Addicts.   Are you familiar with them?  I met these fun ladies at CHA and have been following their AMAZING scrapbooking Blog.

Anyway, the day finally arrived and my kit came.  Now, as a funny aside, my husband got QUITE the giggle *or two when a box arrived addressed to "Ninja Jessica Diedrich".  He is STILL giving me grief for this but I don't care, ha ha.

Inside, the kit is chock full of pretties!  Check out those CUTE handmade felt flowers!  Wait til you see what all is in here-tulle, fabrics, ribbons, even a pink plastic skull, white rabbit, Alice FLAIR (sooo brings me back to the 80's!) and crocheted flowers too.  My little "daisy" came from the kit as well.   Serious CUTENESS!  I totally want to be a Pink Ninja when I grow up!

A Farm Fresh Friday full of SUNSHINE...

I'm back with another Farm Fresh Friday post and it's all comin' up Sunshine!


Today's FFF Challenge at The Greeting Farm blog is to use Buttons on your card or project.  NOT a problem!  Especially with this adorable "Pocket Full of Sunshine" kit from The Caffeinated Cropper, aka my friend Amy.


Amy asked me to be her June Guest Designer and I am REALLY enjoying this kit!   I'm tellin' you I get so much use out of these cute kits-you need to check 'em OUT!

Hip Hop!

Hello peeps!

We are hip-hoppin' in traditional (a.k.a. FABULOUS) Unity fashion today and I was finally able to play with the June Kit of the Month...'FLY FREE'.  Which, if you've visited the UNITY BLOG first today, you'll see that this has a VERY special meaning today, more than any other Thursday Hip Hop!

Here's the June Kit of the Month:

For my card, I got on such a roll using supplies from my "Pocket full of sunshine" kit from Amy (The Caffeinated Cropper) that I just had to use it again!   I LOVE felt.  I'm so glad to see that felt is on the trendy train right now (yep, I came up w/ that term myself, LOL!) but I don't always know what to do with it.   I couldn't wait to bust out this yummy felt that comes in Amy's latest kit!

I used my Jumbo Scallop Die-Namics die from MFT and it cut through the felt like buttah!  The colors are bright for me-and not my norm (aka no copics) so I have to admit I'm not SURE I like how the whole overall card turned out, but I do love the felt!   My sweet, sick little DD helped pick out the button for the bow/ribbon.   We're all hanging at home this week, I myself am sick as a dog but I will DEFINITELY be by the SCS UNITY forum today to say hello...see you there?

It's now time to see my girl Jimmi and her fabulous creation today!
